Hello,
I'm a Redmi 3 2Gb variant user since the day of premiere. What I've noticed on a long run is that applications with heavy 3D graphics and sometimes even 2D rendered games lag like hell on custom roms. Is it bound to crippled source code relased by Xiaomi to public or is it a problem specific only to my device ? I'm really curious why does for example GTA : SA works just fine on MIUI meanwhile being absolutely unplayable on AIM or AOKP. Has anyone expirienced the same issue and found a fix for it ?

I've been using CM9 for a while now (AOKP) and I've noticed that 2D games like sprinkle don't perform as well as they do on honeycomb... Like there is always some delay and I never get that fluid 60 fps performance anymore in any games... Any one experiencing the same??
I do too, I guess because kang doesn't have the full ICS related tegra2 files to process it like HC. After all kang is a cooked ROM with what they have from the source pack release, where as HC stock has everything already.
usually the source packages are always way behind than the official release as they make sure they remove files that may affect the GPL code.
You can try with LW too, the tablet suffer's really badly, I tried installing the ME3 LW from Market specifically for the tegra2 devices and it was amazingly smooth but the launcher suffered massive lags.
LWs were always laggy. Even on HC....
So I guess we'll have to wait till Samsung release the official source for ICS?
Probably, I do like playing games like Gran Prix Story or Epic Astro Story but they lag hard -.- I don't if they aren't tablet optimized or just the tablet. Also LW aren't laggy, they just lag the launcher interface, the LW loads smoothly actually.
Might have to do a little waiting as ICS is around the corner, should be leasing this march if I'm not wrong, else May, Hopefully Diablo 3 wouldn't consume my soul and make me forget ICS is finally out.
Hello.
i am using my galaxy tab lately, but noticed it had unbelivably slow performance in games like modern combat 3, asphalt 7, and even Sonic 4 Episode 2 and BIT TRIP BEAT, and shown many apps in the playstore as being incompatible. after testing lots of roms, i decided to put a jellybean 4.1.2 rom on it and overclock. although more apps are shown as compatible with it, the device still performs poorly in a lot of 2d and 3d games. tried to live with it, but when i saw that the official (physical) samsung keyboard that i got it with it (connects through charging port) which was recognised by stock hc and ics is now recognised by it as a timer (wtf), i decided i must find a better rom. been looking for weeks by now. i will appreciate any suggestion from you to a fast performing, battery efficient and highly compatible rom and kernel combination that i could use on my device that you have tested and can recommend.
Thank you, E.
I like both the aokp and cm10 4.2 jb roms.
It could be some of the games you are playing, not all developers try hard. Nfs most wanted has amazing graphics and plays great, I have had other games with Nintendo graphics that don't run smooth.
hi im new here but does JB limit the games performance?
dead trigger and my little pony lags a little
kingdoms of camelot has laggy scrolling in map
angry birds and bad piggies have this frame stutter
in ICS there is no lag or is it just me?
last used ICS is omega v9
jumped to JB omega 33.2 then 33.3 no v6supercharger used the siyahkernel still the same
did a full wipe twice still the same
everything is ok except the games is the games programmers made it more compatible in ICS than JB since it new and have to wait for updates?
can somebody else try?
considering going back to ICS since i use my phone much more on games
I play a lot of games in my JB'ned S III (stock, 4.1.2, rooted, CSC = XEU) and I don't think games are SLOWER on it than in ICS.
Some games are simply slow no matter where you play them. One such example is EA's Real Racing 2: the menu transitions are painfully slow.
Other games are blazing fast, list Gameloft's Modern Combat 3.
All in all, it think it's more of a perception than a fact, and in my perception, JB is a bit faster than ICS.
Don't think so. I used to install a lot of heavy games on my S3 and everything works just smooth, except for Avengers. I'm on stock JB rom.
gonna try the stock JB roms, before i try can any of you try kingdoms of camelot and try to scroll at the map if it looks laggy?
Like I wrote, sometimes it is just the games that are slow, and that has nothing to do with the ROM you're on.
There are good games and bad games, and none of the currently available games for Android benefit of our phone's 4 cores.
So I have recently got my k20 pro and joined the family. Now I have a question, how is the game performance on graphic heavy games for you? I am using the miui global and I can say I am not impressed. You might think that there shouldn't be a game that works slow on this phone but try Marvel Future Fight (yeah not everyone plays pubg) and my fps was so unstable it was even going below 30 time to time. I will now root my phone and try to change the cpu governor (as schedutil is not a good governor for performance) but I wonder if others have tested out different games and different roms with similar experience. I saw some people doing gpu overclock but I actually dont want to do that for now. And I saw a custom kernel so I wonder its performance as well.
For me the performance is quite good
Graphics heavy games? No problem at all
List of games that I've played :
- Traha
- Call Of Duty Mobile
- Perfect World
- Black Desert M
- Vainglory
All of that with maxed out graphics @60fps
ROM : xiaomi.eu
Antutu : 377k

hmm xiaomi eu might actually be better than original miui. Are you rooted btw? do you use kernel auditor?
Also thanks for reminding black desert I didn't realize it was released
Nope, im not rooted n didn't use kernel auditor
i noticed, the best so far is xiaomi. eu is the best so far

you have to disable google voice match to avoid this, and sometimes it breaks so you have to reboot but it hapens once every 3 months or so
Playing honkai impact 3 on max, 60 fps. Works without lag but the phone heats up. Global stable latest version
I'll try playing a game on Pixel Experience official if you're curious about the performance. You just have to tell me what game you want me to test.

Mi globe works ok with Assistant so I see no reason to use eu.

a long time mff player here , maybe mff doesnt support 60 fps ? also i not yet tested mff on mine k20 pro , but it works ok on mine pocophone , , can stay in game on galactus without crashing
İts great to see a fellow mff player here. I also tried at galactus and I saw fps frops there time to time. (not insane drops but sometimes 30 or so) I was checking fps from game turbo and it supports 60fps

Thanks for the offer. I was able to see fps drop only on marvel future fight so far but I don't think you can test the graphic heavy game modes as you will need to start a new game

traha 60fps? for real?
Creating this thread to share your experiences of playing call of duty mobile gameplay in our k20 pro. I personally enjoy this game and the graphics and gameplay experience is second to none. I am playing this game @ very high frame settings and yet to try the extreme settings. Please share your experiences here.
Running it with all ultra settings, no problem so far.
tested on mine pocophone , not yet on k20 pro , hmmm dont really like the game , graphic is good thought but makes mine eyes hurt
I played it once, got 1052 score, nr 1. Nice game, I hope they will add BT Controller support. Can't throw anything at my K20 Pro with xiaomi.eu 9.9.26 MIUI 11 that it can't handle. This phone is a beast, 0 regrets for getting it.
PUBG had multitouch isssue for me. The screen used to stutter. The stutter was comparatively less on the official indian rom but it's quite heavy on the pixel experience rom.
Can someone confirm the same about the CODM?
Awesome experience!! The only lag was due to my ****ty 4g at times, playinh the game on high settings and having a blast!!
fps drop on battle royale mode
any of you have fps drop on battle royale mode?, i play on max grapich and max fps setting but fps not stable in 60/fps its drop on 50-55 sometimes even drop to 48 fps? my phone is k20 pro 8/128 using indian global rom
black screen and freezing screen
I have xiaomi mi 9t pro global rom. In cod mobile battle royal screen gets black or sometimes freezes when I zoom with snipers. Can anyone help. And I changed the graphic and fps to medium.
And im using game boosing also. without it it has more problems
infinite loop
I have the k20 pro of 8 Gb ram and the rom xiaomi.eu version 11 and I have a problem that every time I play in battle royal happens infinite loop, I already tried to change the rom to India, the global and the Chinese but in all It gives me the same error.
If anyone has the solution, I would appreciate it
I have been getting lots of screen freeze and crashes ever since i started playing a couple of months ago. To this day nothing is fixed. But a while after i found that running the game at the lowest graphic but at highest framrate has helped significantly reduce the freezing. But i couldn't find any solution to the crashing.
Anybody have this problem? If so have you found a solution?
I play it everyday. currently pro2 in MP and pro 1 in BR (yes i have the locus) planning on getting the battle pass.
works fine. codm itself has a BR bug (its on all devices, every Youtuber has confirmed it) (has a buying cod point bug, iferg confirmed it)
