I have bought an S9 + unlocked (G965u1) in the US. When I select norwegian in settings menu , only a few apps and one line in settings show up in Norwegian. Anyone knows how to install Norwegian , I know the software must be available for this device since the S9+ sold in Norway comes with 100 % Norwegian. If I can avoid rooting I would be happy, but if I have to, I would be happy to do it safely. Thanks!

I'm a newbie having a newbie question:
In my place, some retailer imports O2 XADII from China, which has ROM in Chinese language, then flash the ROM to an English version. After doing that, it claims that the device is imported from Singapore or Hongkong and therefore asks for a higher price. It even puts the chinese deivive into an orgianal box of Singpore/HK one to cheat its customers.
I wonder if there is any (simple and quick) way to identify the the original ROM pre-installed in an XDA?
Your help is very much appreciated.
Thanks
i have a LG G PRO LITE DUAL ( lg g pro lite D686 ) that doesn't have FRENCH as one of the system language ( when you go to settings....>language & input .....> .... there is no option for french, and as a result, i CANNOT change the phone system language to french. i've tried all sort of apps ( locale text, morelocale2, text and locale, etc etc etc ) the only thing that happened was that part of the phone was changed to french, but not the system language. the majority of it is still in english.
I was told that the ONLY way i would be able to add/install/get french as a language on the phone is to either
1- CHANGE THE OPERATING SYSYTEM. the one on my phone is android 4.1.2. i was told that some operating systems like 4.2.2, or 4.4, and even 4.0.2, which i currently have on my htc phone come with french as part of the system language.
or
2- install some kind of custom ROM.
I would really appreciate it if someone out there could help me with either one of those options since I have no clue how to go about accomplishng any of these things, or if there is another way i can get french on my phone, please let me know as well.
I would even consider making a small donation, if you have paypal to thank you for your time.
some basic info about the phone:
its brand new, unlocked and unused, so i dont have to worry about backing up any data whatsoever.. i plan on shipping it to a french speaking country, which is why i absolutely MUST change it to french.
its an LG G PRO LITE DUAL phone
android version 4.1.2
and its already been rooted.
please help.
Looks like you might just be out of luck. There doesn't seem to be any development for that phone. Pretty sure the bootloader is locked meaning you can't install a custom recovery = no custom roms. Doesn't seem to be enough interest in the phone by developers to try any work arounds. Most likely because it is MTK based instead of their more normal Snapdragon processor phones.

I have got the same phone here in Czech republic with Czech language on board. So it seems that yours is from distribution for other countries.
Did you try Custom Locale from Google Play Store?
Yes, it should be some EU distribution, but i haven´t entered the sim card yet. GF has to go to carrier for cutting the SIMcard to microSIM
When the sim card is entered, the phone should set itself somehow by the region of the simcard. If this won´t help, i will try manualy set by #country code#. Today i founded code for my country finally.
so it doens´t work, the custom locale only could set keyboard to "czech" but settings and everything is in english, country code "works" the same way
when i root the phone, can i install there any czech localizated system or FW even if its EU distribution ?
thanks a lot
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 SCH-I535 Verizon last year when I was traveling through US. I was able to root and unlock it to work with a carrier of my country (Brazil), I was even capable to set my language on the phone through the app "Language Enabler". I upgraded to android 4.3 and it worked just fine, but since when I upgraded the android to 4.4.2 my phone came back to the original language (english) and I couldn't set to my language anymore (Seems like Samsung is not providing additional languages outside US on this new android version) . Reading some treads here, I discovered that downgrading the android to a previous version (that included portuguese as a language option) would be impossible thanks to the bootloader. My question is, there is a method of unlocking the bootloader safely, so can I downgrade my phone from 4.4.2 to 4.3? Can anyone help me through it?
Ok so Ive got an unlocked Exynos Galaxy Note 9 from Sweden, I live here(sorry if my english isnt 100% correct) with a Tele2 Sim-Card and I want to root it but when I want to choose firmware im greeted with two options. Either I choose Sweden(Tre) a cellular-provider which I dont have, or I choose Nordic Countries. I really dont want to risk bricking this as it is my daily driver.
