Looks like I won't be using AOD again.
Anyone else have this happen?

Hmm.. Can't see it in my screenshots
There shouldn't be any burn in. The image keeps moving. It doesn't stay static. The home button is static but that can be removed from the AOD in Settings.

How would a screenshot show a hardware detect like burn-in?
Also, are you sure it's burn-in and not just image retention? If it goes away it's image retention (a common thing even with LCDs).

You are correct. It was my error trying to take a screenshot.
It was in fact screen burn.

Update...
Went to tmobile and showed them what I was seeing. I did in fact have an image burn in of the number "2" from the AOD.
They were able to help me out and swapped the phone for a brand new one because i was still under their 14 day protection.

I noticed this when I had the screen tilted and it was booting up. Is it dead pixels? It's weird cuz it's only on the edge and can only be seen when the screen is tilted on a bright background.

I think that's the backlight. Might want to compare it to other One's to see if it's universal or a defect.

I don't know if I'd call it a defect or not. You can't tell it's there unless you tilt the screen and look for it. I just hope whatever it is it doesn't get worse.

I just got my S4 and whenever im in my car and using the phone. My radar goes off. It shows there's a Laser nearby. I tried turning off all the extra stuff on the S4, but it still happens. Had no problem before with my Galaxy Nexus.
Anyone else having this problem??
its definitely one of the sensors tripping the detector maybe?
i have an escort 9500ix and i dont have any problems with it setting it off.

Sounds like the inferred blaster is setting off your radar...you can't turn that off....not sure if its always active or not.

I think i have turned off every sensor and its still doing it.
To test you phone infa red sensor. You can use any camera and hold it over the sensors. If it's going off you can see the sensor on the camera. You can also test it to see if it's working this way too.

My phone does this too when I hold it at a certain angle lol. I can make it alarm on cue. I'll try turning off adaptive display next time I'm in my car.
I thought my V1 was on the verge of dying.

Do you have Verizon S4??
Mine is still doing it, the sensor to the left of the camera is causing it. If i place my finger over it. It stops setting off my V1.
I have turned off every single sensor and it still does it.

I fixed my broken screen myself but however I toasted the digitizer and probably some other sensor towards the top. Now when I am in the middle of a phone call, if I have to turn on the screen to get it off speaker phone or navigate to take notes or whatever, the screen will not turn on until the person hangs up the phone or until I power cycle it with the battery.
Is there some kind of option I can turn off to stop this sort of action? Thanks.
Have you tried to clean out the sensor right above the Samsung logo? A blast of compressed air will do the trick. I had a similar problem with the screen not coming on while on a call after removing the phone from my ear and this fixed my problem.

Hey friendly members of XDA,
My phone started to flicker recently and I could not figure out why it does this...
http://youtu.be/uhSOd6tlVgw
I did not have any water damage or physical damage to my phone but it started doing this randomly. When my phone gets colder, the screen starts to flicker, then half of the screen flickers with a yellow hue, then after a while the screen will be yellow. Also, while the phone is cold, the screen will not turn on. (I failed to show this in the video). Is there something I can do to fix this?
When I warm my phone up with my hands, the flickering goes away and everything goes back to normal.
Thank you,
Jerry

More info...rooted? Using ROM w/mdk boot loader?using ROM w/safestrap?if stock which firmware are you using?all these things will give people more info to help you with the problem...and all these variables can all have their own quirks and problems...give a little more info and I'm sure someone here will be able to help
Sounds like a graphical blobs problem but I don't how internal temperature could affect that.

Since your phone is still under warranty, you'd better send it to Samsung after-sales department for checking. Maybe it is free!

It's up to you but I probably would. If something physical is affecting your phone then there's some type of hardware issue with your phone. Unfortunately xda can only help with software.

Well you could try flashing the latest Adreno drivers for our phone in recovery, if you still have SafeStrap that is.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ygyqpqmz6m30yuj/UPDATE-adreno-drivers-jflte9505.zip
Filename says i9505 but it's good for our Verizon S4s too.
Probably is a hardware issue if you've already tried Odin and different ROMs but hey worth a try if your going to send it back anyways.

similar screen flickering problem in cold ish environment, diagnosis.
I have a similar flickering problem. Is related to "cold temper.". There is a translucent rectangle that pops-up and overlays 80% of the screen (lower side) - it flickers. The rectangle is light grey and the screen icons etc are underneath it. However, the grey gets more and more dense and eventually, the rectangle becomes solid grey with less flicker, then, you can no longer see the screen contents beneath it. Also, the overlaid rectangle grows to about 95% of the screen. Only part of the notification line on top is visible. Amazingly, the screen and touching the various icons and buttons still works 100% perfectly ... only problem is you cannot see what you are touching ; . . . so you have to guess where the various icons and buttons are, . . . and touch them accordingly (blindly so to speak). I suspect there is a background "phantom" task that is running, pertinent to various sensors ( ex. proximity) that is misbehaving. This phantom task likely is launched after a wake-up or re-boot event. Eventually, the phantom task slows-down its strange work, the flickering and the greyness of the translucent rectangle is reduced, and after few seconds it goes away and the phone works fine again. So my diagnosis is: some kind of fault between a background running task and the GPU O/S driver. The problem is critical in that if you are out in a snow-storm scenario and want to use your phone, simply, you won't be able to, the flickering obstruction can last 5-10 minutes.
Has anybody solved the problem with 100% satisfactory result ?

I'm 99% sure it's a hardware problem. I fixed it by switching to the LG G4.
Anybody seeing a green tint when using the front flash on the original camera apparently?
Just tested mine a number of times (I rarely take selfies), no green tint on mine.
OMG, this thread triggered me to attempt to use the front facing camera with flash set to ON.
Can someone tell me what flash? The screen goes a beige color for a second then it takes my selfie. I didn't see an LED flash appear at all. ?

I actually laughed when my brother showed me. I think I remember, it was my brother with the iphone. It was actually surprisingly quite effective, works better the darker the surrounding is.
No green tint here either.
