M-Pen Stylus - Huawei MediaPad M5 Questions & Answers

Does M-Pen stylus work on M5 8? or just M5 10 Pro?

M5 Pro Only.
The M-Pen and its functions. has anyone used it/them yet? I know the really nice functions from the Galaxy Tab S3 (like screen off note taking) and cool stuff. Does anyone know about the functions of the m-pen? and which apps would you suggest to add to the Stylus the most?
as for note-taking, I hope nebo can hold up to the expectations that are created by their website x.x

I know it's really nice indeed, but the biggest problem is that Android doesn't support stylus, however Samsung has S-pen, google has pixel pen and Huawei has M-Pen, and each company has its drivers and the apps that works with, so third party apps have to support each one of them.

1 just stumbled upon this:https://source.android.com/devices/accessories/stylus seems like stylus support to me?

Most apps that support styluses also support this one. Apps dont have to target specific hardware. I mostly use lecturenotes, handwrite pro, xedo and the preinstalled nebo for huawei. The latter is a pretty cool app, especially the formula editor.
Other than that the pen can take screenshots. Huawei didnt implement a lot of pen specific apps or features. I enjoy it for uni mostly. Unfortunately ezpdf reader doesnt work with android 8 or at least not with this tablet.
Havent found any pressure sensitive apps which wouldnt work with this pen. Try sketchbook for example. It even alters the line with different angles like a real pencil. You can do decent drawings =)

I think nebo is quite good. My handwriting is not recognized all the time ... I am a historian after all ...
I bought my former tablet for the same purpose, using it at university, however, the battery was too bad. I had to charge the Galaxy Tab S3 after 3 lectures (each 90 minutes), and all I did was making notes etc. I switched to the Mediapad M5 Pro, mainly due to this ... (Although I finished my studies last September...)
The Screenshot functionality is kinda ... dunno, useless to me ...
I am using Pen&PDF (free, without adds) for working with pdfs. It's a lot like Samsung's "Write on PDF" (which is not available for other devices, if I am not mistaken)
I hope that some neat features are introduced by this great community, of which I am merely a part, as my coding skills are not that advanced

I had bought the regular M5 10.8 because of the Space Gray color. Does anyone know where I can buy the pen separately? The ones that I saw on ebay are for the M2 tablet.

I too bought the M5 10.8" (non-pro) because of the space gray color. Anyone have recommendations on a stylus/pen for the mediapad m5 (non-pro)?
Don't need it for ultraprecision, just light photo editing.

a friend is using https://www.wacom.com/de-de/products/stylus/bamboo-tip with his Tablets - I tried it with my S3 that I had before and with my Galaxyy S8 - it worked quite good! However, I haven't tried it with the Mediapad M5 (pro) yet...

Help me with my Huawei MediaPad M5 10.8
Hello everyone I need help, I bought the Huawei MediaPad M5 10.8 (not the pro version) and then I bought the Huawei mpen. Well, the tablet does not detect the mpen. I have contacted the technical service by chat on their website and I have been told that the mpen is not compatible. How can this be possible? Can I make it compatible in some way? Thank you.

Its hardware related so nothing can be done...

A friend of mine use MEKO pen (about 20$ on amazon).
I'm gonna buy the m5 non pro because the pro version is too expensive compared to these added features.
M5 non pro with 32Gb and sd 64gb will be good enough. I'll buy this pen for drawing some stuff.

Really?
In Malaysia we have M5 8.4 LTE about $360 USD and M5 pro LTE $460 USD.
For $100 USD you get free men, larger display, 7500mah battery and 4 speakers!
If you are ok with 10.8" then the 100 buck will be worth every penny.

In the US
M5 8" wifi only $300
M5 10" wifi $360
M5 Pro wifi $450
If you really want to buy a 3rd party pen such as the Wacom bamboo pen. It might behoove you to just get the pro version. I ended up selling the m5 10" non pro to buy the M5 Pro version.

How come?
I only got the pro because the difference between regular& pro was about $70.

Hi,
So i've bought Mediapad 10.8" M5 Wifi 32Go and MEKO pen.
It works very well.
300€ for mediapad (with 50€ refund offer) and 13€ for the meko pen.
I'm looking for a 128Gb SD card now.

The pen seems kinda useless to me to be honest?

Hello! I bought a new MediaPad M5 lite with a stylus, but the stylus does not work. Does it need to be turned on or activated or something else? At me such for the first time a stylus. I will be very grateful for the help.

Bluetooth Keyboard w/ stand...very nice

Hey all, I know i'm kinda late to the party, but I found a nice little Bluetooth keyboard that has an integrated stand. It works really well for the Tab Pro 10.1 even though it's technically made for the iPad.
Here's a link to my review (with pics). http://www.amazon.com/review/R2XJOV3VU2D9EX/ref=cm_cr_pr_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00HAZOSWY
Looks like a great option. I wish I had found this thread months ago. I've had my Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 for almost a full year now, and while I love the performance, functionality and portability of it, I agree that it has been missing a keyboard.
It seems Samsung has abandoned the Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1. After months of searching I could not find a single custom keyboard option. Instead I could only find general/basic Android keyboards.
I've tried several Belkin options and some Logitech. Which do okay. Now I'm waiting on a keyboard from WayTools called the Textblade. It is a stand alone option, that is super thin and portable. Since I travel for work and run between classrooms at my University Portable is very important to me. I cannot fit my tablet, books, notebooks, keyboard, laptop, mouse, and etc. So I'm cutting down removing the 5 lbs laptop and 1 lb Belkin keyboard for the aforementioned option.
Thanks for making this post.
You're welcome.
Is that Textblade keyboard made specifically for the Tab Pro or is is a generic Android device?
Unfortunately it is generic but portability is the main selling point. See https://waytools.com/hands-on
Funny, I just pre-ordered a TextBlade as well. Looking forward to it!

Keyboard Case for Tab Pro 10.1 or other solutions.

Hi XDA people! I got a Tab Pro 10.1 as a gift a year back or so, I've been enjoying it with games or playing HD movies on my TV with HDMI adapter. I've also used it to study a lot, mainly just read while in bed. Very comfortable way to get A:s on your exams. However for the next semester I'm going to have to do way more written work, essays and such. This semester has only been exams so haven't really had any need for a case/keyboard. I've Googled a bit and found absolutely no case with integrated keyboard that fits the 10.1, nor do I think it might be the best idea to get as I need to do a great deal of work next semester.
I was wondering if it's at all possible to get a case the tab pro 10.1 and then a seperate keyboard for it? Or should I just invest into a laptop? I'm very greatful for any tips I can get!
Regards /Rob.
Samsung has neglected the Tab Pro 10.1
Unfortunately, I've been in the same boat as you. Looking for a year now for a folio/keyboard case for my Tab Pro 10.1.
There exists some options on eBay but nothing specifically made for the Tab Pro 10.1. I even considered a Logitech Keyboard case made for the Tab S since the dimensions were so similar but in the end i decided against spending $99+ on something that probably wouldn't fit right.
I've given up that search and opted out for a stand alone keyboard. I've tried several Belkin models and i'm now expecting a keyboard from WayTools called the Textblade. Very slim and portable. I plan to make this tablet and keyboard my daily drivers for School/Work.

Lenovo Yoga Book vs Chuwi HiBook Pro

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new tablet but I'm not sure how much I want to spend. I've seen this comparison around and I was wondering what's your opinion?
It's the just released Lenovo Yoga Book vs the latest Chuwi HiBook Pro.
Similar specs but different prices. Is it worth spending so much more for a slightly better processor? The HiBook Pro has a much sharper screen (2560 x 1600) and it's a lot cheaper.
I have a chuwi hibook 10.1 and it's pretty nice, esp given the price vs other windows 10 tab and Ultrabooks. Plus it has the dual boot option of Android 5.1. The tablet itself is a good value.
The keyboard docks on these chuwi tabs, and many other cheap Chinese tabs from what I've gathered, is also pretty nice, given one glaring oversight. The touchpad. It ships with no special touchpad driver, instead using the generic MS HID Mouse driver. The problem is that there are no touchpad options.. no sensitivity settings, no swipe or gesture settings. It does support 2 finger scrolling and tapping, so it does work, but it is super sensitive. the bigger problem is that Win10 has all these mouse gestures built in, so when using it, you are always activating mouse gestures, which makes it almost useless. For example, if you move your finger from top edge in downward direction, it triggers the Windows+D hotkey (show/hide desktop). This happens all the time, as does other window key shortcuts.
Chuwi says they don't build the keyboard, and have no idea who's touchpad hardware is used. So far no real solution has been offered to make the pad register as a specific device, or even utilize the ms precision touchpad driver (which would enable options for some adjustments in Windows).
So basically, if you're planning to use the tablet as a tablet, it's fine. If you plan to use a mouse all the time it's fine. But if you plan to use the integrated touchpad, you might want to consider something else. It's my understanding that many other cheap tablets are using the same keyboard, more or less, and have the same touchpad issues. My best advice is to do lots of research before you buy if this is a concern to you.

Thanks for the feedback! Really helpful.
I guess I'll go with Chuwi then, also because they're running this promotion: promotion.chuwi. com/chuwi-12th-anniversary-celebration/
So I could even get it for free! Win/Win.

M5 MediaPad Pro 10.8"...I'm in US, will Chinese ones work on US networks?

probably stupid question, but I'm looking for a new tablet. I want a large screen, 4G Data capabilities, and pen capabilities. I'm liking what I see in the Huawei MediaPad M5, but have two questions:
1.) the not-Pro version...is it not-Pro just because it doesn't have the Pen, or are there other features that make it not-Pro?
2.) only place I'm finding the full-on Pro versions available is from China. I'm in the US. Will I have a problem with connectivity?
Thanks!!!!

Mi Pad 4 Plus as a working/student tablet?

Hello, I wanted to ask people that own Mi pad 4, and plus version (which I plan to take) as well (I don't know the difference between them except screen size) is this laptop good in way of productivity? I am searching not expensive solution from such as browsing, google docs office editing most. As I plan to use custom rom on device 100%, but want to know how is tablet productivity, performance? Is multitasking works good, and split screen for 2 apps on one screen? As for productivity and getting rid of my almost completely broken laptop, I also plan to get Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, but is tablet supports 2 Bluetooth devices at once? Thank you
If you want productivity get a notebook imo.
My son prefer the mi pad4 for remote class lessons this days over Dell notebook. His school uses Zoom.
{Mod edit: Quoted post has been deleted}
yeah i think buying a worthy device is apt in this circumstances..i will do the same..thanks guys
