I have an Inspire 4g running LeeDroid 3.1.4. I'm in Michigan. The last few weeks, it's started thinking it was British. Apps and websites are showing prices in British Pounds, it keeps trying to tell apps that I'm in England. I've been running this ROM for 7 or 8 months, and this is a new problem, and I'm really hoping someone can tell me why it might be doing this as it's REALLY annoying!

Firstly make sure your GPS is turned on. Go into Menu-Settings-Location. Make sure use GPS satellites is checked. Also in location settings make sure that it is checked so the Network can detect your location. Then go into Menu-Settings-Date & Time, make sure Automatic ( use network-provided values ) is checked. Even if it is check then uncheck it, and reboot. Lastly make sure that your weather is set to update at least every six hours. See if that helps with the issue.
Your best bet would be to ask in the leedroid rom Q&A thread. Please use threads already available instead of opening a new one.

I have been waiting for the 2012/2/17 .14 firmware to arrive GTA Canada. Has anyone in Canada got their .14 OTA yet?
I am now in .11 after the last Asus OTA upgrade. However, interestingly, I just realized that mine has a IML74K.WW_epad-9.4.2.11-20120117 Build. No wonder it did not get the .13 upgrade. I bought mine at NCIX, should it be a US instead of a WW model? I am thinking to change it to the US Build using the dd method mentioned in this forum. Has anyone tried this?
Any more advice?
If you search thru the post made my Gary Key (Asus Tech manager), .14 should be released by Tuesday to WW after it passes Google Certification. WW users will not get the .13 and go straight from .11 to .14.
So wait till tuesday or do it yourself now. Your call.
How do you do it by your self...
there is no Firmware posted for WW of the .14 version on the ASUS website
I'm in no rush for this, everything is working perfect on my device.

I've heard it forces you to update after three notifications. I did the OTA from honeycomb to ICS (.11) and everything is awesome, so I'm hesitant to update given the trouble people seem to have had.

Mine is working fine except for GPS. I'll wait until tuesday. I really wanted the GPS feature
I guess I will wait and see then...my .11 has minimal issue other then constant wait freeze issue on my ICS+ browser.

To answer you specifically, yes, you could and would be fine.
I have not changed my SKU, but I've reverted to nearly every US update and have seen no ill effects, upgrading with it should be no different. You still get OTA's after, and if you go back you can freeze your DMClient (if you're rooted with Titanium Backup or something else that does similar) and not be bothered with further updates.
In my personal experience, update .11 is the holy grail of performance and battery-life, so I'd personally recommend staying there unless you're having issues.

I used chrome for a few days and i found it to be fast but unstable. I went back to stock browser. Works well enough for me, at least until chrome is out of beta status.

Lol, just like on the computer!
I personally use Opera Mobile, just so I have the same interface from phone to tablet and it's always been a good browser on Android (personally didn't care for it back when I tried it and Maxthon on PC's).
Dolphin HD of course.
I have the same "wait" issue with stock browser, but it doesn't really bother me. Prolly just put ICS + or whatever it's called.
Here in Amish country, Lancaster, PA, the ota is still unavailable on my phone. How is the order of the rollout determined? Location? Date of purchase? If I were to magically beam myself to, say, New York City, would the update be available to me? This is just idle curiosity; I'm already running a recent leak.

Is call big v and ask them, not the first person who answers the phone but ask for a higher up person to ask although of I was that employee I'd be pretty annoyed with all the ota questions lol

I imagine someone will ride by in a horse and buggy and give it to you. :cyclops:
Seriously, when my daughter and I were on Incredibles, and she was in Ohio and I was east of you in Montgomery County, PA, she got OTA's a full day ahead of me. I'm on a custom ROM, S-OFF now so I don't expect to get any OTA, or I'd report whether I'd gotten it by now.

You laugh but they all have cell phones!
My question is more about how the rollout sequence is determined. I'm not concerned about receiving the ota. If I wanted it today, I would just flash it. Also, from some other threads I believe running a leak does not, in itself, prevent the ota from loading. My understanding is that you need to be running stock recovery which I am. Those that are not able to load the ota are running AmonRa as far as I can tell.
Just walk to Philly! I'm only about 35 miles from Philly, easy bike ride

That's my question. I'm curious if that would work. Are the rollouts determined by location?

If this is like other phones I've had, running a leak will stop you from getting the OTA. AFAIK, the OTA file isn't the full RUU we're seeing on the forums. It's basically a glorified diff file that requires you to be on a specific release, and stock top to bottom. In this case, the last GB release.

I am honestly thinking it is random. I am in Bismarck, ND, not a real center for technology, and have two Rezounds, one which was purchased shortly after launch on a business account and one that I just got in the last month. Both got the update within 15 minutes of each other (newer phone got it first, then well it was d/ling the other started), yet a friend with a Rezound across town still hasn't gotten it yet and he got his in February. My updates started just 12 hours after the first person claimed to get the OTA well lots of others haven't gotten it, even so far. So my vote is that the roll-out is actually just random.

Yes, he got his update this morning but it didn't push, he had to check and it was finally there this morning, updated the 7.1MB file and rebooted then within 2-3 minutes after complete boot up prompted him for the 299MB update and that went through fine. Last night (and multiple times for the last couple of days) checking yielded nothing, then this morning it was there and all went well.

That is great news
I've only downloaded 1 so far (last night while sleeping) and haven't flashed it yet. Now there is an update to it this morning. Are the updates going to be full updates? The last Roms had updates sometime once or twice a day. At ~600mb on -3g some of the downloads can take up to 4 hours, that's if I don't lose the connection and have to restart it. Mikes' work is nice, clean and very detailed. But the Rom was updated so often I actually went to other roms that were faster to update. At one point I would just update the blue theme, as most of the app updates (-system tweaks) were in his updates. But they were smaller and faster to download, so easier to update.

Yes they are full roms can you download them over wifi?
No, I use my phone for home internet. And we live 30 minutes outside of tulsa in a small community. So fast internet out here isn't cost effective for only 2 people. That's why we use our phones. I could probably get faster service or free WiFi in Tulsa. But its not realistic to drive that far. I can get WiFi at work. But I'm off for a couple more days.
Thanks for the info. Ill hold off on installing it till its more stable and updates slow down. There are a couple good ones out there.
u just have to read the changelog and decide if it is worth upgrading to the next version. if u ar running great and don't see the need to get the update......don't. if u have a version already downloaded just install it till u get to work and get wifi to download the next one.
the day jelly bean rooted rom came out i came home all excited and was gonna hook up to wifi and download it as soon as i got home. my router was f-in up so i was stuck downloading it on 3g. took a couple of hours. i am lucky and have wireless router and home(most of the time), so i am connected to wifi as soon as i walk in the door, and there are 4g spots scattered throughout town because i am in austin, tx and they are working on upgrading all the towers.
i ran meanrom ics for a long time and i wouldn't always download the rom everytime there was a new version. mean roms were awesome so i am excited about the beanroms. i just flashed my firmware and am about to flash the 0.3 version myself.
I'm running meanbean 0.3 and miles work is great. His updates are usually a few tweaks here and there a new feature every few updates. It seems he's always got something up his sleeve. I don't think it would hurt skipping a few updates and dirty flashing one that looks cool to you.

I recently installed CM mdm5. Everything seems to be working fine except the location service. Depending on what cell tower I am attached to, my phone thinks I am in Phoenix, AZ. I live in Portland, OR. When the phone thinks it is in Phoenix, there is nothing I can to do make it zero in on the proper location, such and toggling the GPS or WIFI. When I get to work (we have internal Verizon repeaters in out building) it works fine.
I have COMPLETELY wiped the phone and SD cards in hope of a cure with no luck. I made sure I was using the appropriate boot.img as well.
Anyone have any ideas?
A funny side note: I traveled out of town this last weekend, and the location showed me an equal distance outside of Phoenix... I had to laugh at that one.

I tried the newer version with the same results. As soon as I Ieave my building at work, I am magically transported to sunny Arizona.
Well, it looks like patience was the fix... This morning, the location starting working on its own. I am a bit skeptical, so I will watch it closely.

GAAA!! It is still not working. I think using the WIFI at home helps a bit, but not all apps.
I actually have the same or a very similar problem with mdm5 and, IIRC, mdm4. It seems that, sometimes, until GPS fix is acquired, it reports a bogus location. After GPS is locked, it generally works fine. Not typically a big problem, though it's annoying with some things like weather apps where it may be hard to tell it to refresh your location (so I'll occasionally get reports of pleasant temperatures despite the fact that it's summertime in Houston, i.e. never pleasant).
Man this reminds me of when I had an incredible 2 stock firmware and it also reported Phoenix, AZ no matter what I did. I live in NJ. Never could get it fixed.
