App lock ? - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

Hi everyone,
I wonder if there is a way to enable "app lock" on GS9+. If you don't know what is app lock, It is a hidden feature on Samsung phones that allows you to lock any app with your fingerprint.
I'm rooted but don't know how to enable it in Oreo.

i am also looking with this feature as secure folder to hassle to use. wondering why our phone doesn't have this feature as i used this too often with my oppo f3. currently using maxlock for now. hope we can habe this feature sooner.

Cant you move an app to the secure folder so you need a fingerprint to open it?

surely we can bro the problem is that the way secure folder works. when an app moved there it likes creating 2nd app of the same app, so the exact the same app outside secure folder is different from inside secure folder which is annoying/hassle because of a 2 way opening the secured app. unlike what we meant that we can directly lock any app we wanted and when we open it it requires a pin/fingerprint to open which is way way more convenient than secure folder works.

There's an app in the Play Store called Applock Fingerprint. Maybe that will do what you want.

Just delete the app outside of secure folder that's what I do, otherwise I also use AppLock in the play store

where is the application list of the launch center stored

After installed the application, the application will be shown in the launch center. Some application has one apk file but have two shortcuts in the launch center.
where are these information stored? How could one apk file to have two shortcuts? Thanks.
Shortcuts can have many. You can make 100 as well.
I think the one you meant is on launcher. In app drawer, you will only have one.

By info, if you meant the application itself then it's stored at system/app.
(P.S: You need Root Explorer or some other third-party file explorer in order to access them)
Info- goto settings>applications>manage applications
e.g.: i have installed goContact. But in the application drawer, it has goDialer and goContact, both linked to the goContact.apk.
How is this done?

As many "intents" as an application has, it can have direct shortcuts to. In this case, they have the two main intents, contacts/dialer, and they want both to be separately accessible. Just like maps has maps, places, latitude, and navigation.
thanks. got it.

I am in a very similar spot if not exactly the same and so I thought it be fitting to put my situation over here.
I upgraded to Android 7 from Android 6 and I am running on is Samsung j7 rooted phone. immediately after installation I could see that was a phone icon being offered by my launcher which is Nova. I am not sure what happened but right now there is no phone app icon at all that natively belongs to the Android 7 OS I have to use a third party dialler tone and that in turn invokes the phone app. I am not sure what I am missing but there are three phone apps in system directory they all have different APK locations and APK names but they all refer to the same Android package is that not strange ?
my questions
-how do I invoke an APK file that does not have a shortcut offered by my launcher and I have confirmed that there are no hidden apps.
I have disabled the original Home Launcher icon or else uninstalled it because I do not need the launcher from Samsung since I am using Nova
-there are three apps that refer to the same package which of these three are dispensable and can be uninstalled how do I figure that out.

Only one google account ? (4.4.2)

Hi guys,
I have Amlogic S812 streamer Xtreamer Wonder and it's running on 4.4.2 Android.
In the Settings menu there is no possibility (no menu at all) to add another Google account in addition to the one that was created initially. As a result all Google apps such Play Market, Gmail, Drive etc, working with one and only account without ability to switch to another one if needed. It's especially limiting with Paid apps which was bought under different accounts...
I tried to search all over the internet for the similar issue, but surprisingly did not found any ...
All the rest functionality is as usual, I also have root, thanks to the Rooting Guide by C3C076
Any help is very appreciated!
This is how Settings menu looks like :
Unfortunately, this firmware disable this feature.
So, to change google account, you have to use adb tool and remove /data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db file (if box is root) and add another account.
If box isn't root, you have to factory reset this box to add new account

Thanks for your answer water275, but is what you mean is just removing existing and adding a new one, but there still will be only one account ?
I tried to use few different apps which can manage existing accounts and I had there the option to remove account, but not to add. So in order to remove i think i can use this way, instead of adb. But what about to have multiple accounts? Absolutely impossible ?
What is interesting is that those account management apps allowed me to go into sync options for existing accounts. So it looks like the Xtreamer just hiding required functionality (menus) and not completely removed them. I was thinking in direction of xml files which are responsible for menu layouts, but i have not too much knowledge with them...
You can use Gmail. When you slide left panel in, there's an arrow next to your profile name. When you expand it you will see "Manage accounts" menu option.
Alternatively you can use my simple app (attached) I created for this purpose.

You right :good::good::good:
Gmail not allowing to add account guys. There is no such option. If it could be this way then it would be simple

Sorry, you are right. I got confused because of launching that app on my phone which runs lollipop. It unfortunately behaves differently on KitKat.
I'll try your app on my android stick in car, there is also 4.4.2 just to compare, but as i said earlier even that menu that your app shows is not available from the usual settings menu, so it seems like Xtreamer just hiding these menus for some reasons.

Yeah. But the screenshot above is a result of launching app on lollipop. Looks like the same call yields different results on KitKat.

For some reason on my Android stick in the car your app can't be installed. I have Install and Cancel buttons, but Install not clickable. I'll try similar app from the store later.
Found solution !
The reason is that Xtreamer installed custom Gmail app that is not asking for update and installed as a system app (you can't uninstall it in usual way). This app have no option to add/manage account as I shown on the screenshots above.
Thanks to ROOT i was able to remove that app completely from /system/apps , and installed official Gmail app from the store. In the official app there is full managing functionality for accounts and i was able to add multiple gmails there.
I highly recommend to uninstall pre-installed Drive and Youtube apps too.
In the general settings menu of Android there is still no manage account section, but at least I can get there through Gmail now.
Thanks to everybody for your help !

Secure Folder Problem (App Updated)

PROBLEM : Secure Folder applications are still showing in the app drawer or on home screen being placed in Secure Folder...
So i called Samsung Tech Support and was on the phone while they were connected remotely to my device and couldnt figure out why the app is still showing in the app drawer, on my device. So they tried it on devices there in the office and i couldnt get a straight answer, but i do think it DID NOT work on their devices either. The tech said she would put in a suggestion IF the application is meant to be shown in BOTH the Secure Folder AND the App Drawer, to either add the option to Hide app in app drawer OR automatically remove the app from app drawer when placing it in Secure Folder. The Tech(s) totally seem my point and couldnt understand why the app was still in app drawer and why wasnt there an option to hide the app after being placed in Secure Folder. So after about an hour or so, thats where we ended, with a confused Tech and my question unanswered....
Less then 2 weeks later Secure Folder is updated (Today) within what's new : "- Fixed the problem that disappear app icon in secure folder."
App is in apkmirror BUT will not install on OREO, at this time. So if you have another Galaxy with Secure Folder on Nougat, give it a shot...
I am honestly shocked how fast they fixed the issue, Some say it isnt an issue and its meant to be that way, for example, if you put Facebook in Secure Folder, you Log In on the Facebook in Secure Folder and the Facebook in app drawer does NOT Log In. But i guess Samsung seen my point are currently fixing the issue....
Wish they would unlock our bootloaders that fast.....
Another update dropped this morning, but again, not for Oreo...
I'm having this issue on the samsung note 10 plus with the android 10 one ui beta.

Is there a way to fool apps into thinking location is enabled?

Is there any way of fooling apps into thinking location is enabled when it is not? I don't want to spoof my location AKA "fake my GPS" I just want apps to think location is enabled when it's not. Some apps require this and it's a battery drain I'd like to avoid. Thanks!

Interesting app but not quite what I'm looking for. It just denies apps your location (for example) but apps still need you to enable location (even though they're not getting the actual location because of app ops) so my battery still gets drained. But this is an interesting app, so thanks!

Also interesting but it's the same thing.
Btw I did find what I was looking for: lataclysm, an xposed module. On Android Pie is currently not asking me to enable location and app gets fooled into using the one sent via the module. Apparently lataclysm it's quite "mainstream", not sure why it didn't come up on my search.

[HELP] Preventing uninstall of application

Hello. I have an Android lock app application, I need help preventing its uninstall. I've already placed a device administrator's permission on it, and it can't be removed, but when you get into device management apps, the manager can be disabled and removed.
All I need if you can, little thing, is to pop the "lock" activity of the application as soon as you try to turn off the app's device management, and then it won't be uninstallable.
Can someone do this for me?
I will pay for him kindly for this little task.
Please contact with me.

Hello, I assume application is yours. You cannot do pretty much, normally the apps which have administrative permissions cannot be uninstalled without revoking administrative permission. But if you want to make an app uninstallable you should convert it to system app. That can be done with root.

Of course it can be done.
Like any parental control app.
When someone tries to access the device adminstration settings it locks the screen or pop ups a "lock pattern" activity, and if you don't enter the password you can't disable it's admin device management.
I don't know how to do so. Any help?

Oh, sorry for misunderstood, well, you can create a receiver with onDisableRequired
Here is an example
https://stackoverflow.com/q/19856344/6302432
You can take a onDisable to create a overlay with password or pattern protection (needed permission to draw over another apps).

I already know about onDisable and onDisableRequested functions.
I explain my problem, I have only the apk and not the source.
This applocker is not mine, I just edited it and added it some design and translations with APK Editor Pro.
Now that I have the apk of the applock, and I can see that there is "lock" activity that if you call it , the lock screen will pop-up,
maybe someone know how to edit it or tell me what to add to the apk file so when you try to deactivate device admin then the lock activity will be called?
