I know DBrand are big state side but with the phone not being available for our American counterparts it'd doubtful they'll do a skin for the P20 Pro so I've order a brushed slate skin via xtreamskins. Cost me £6.50 which I didn't think was too bad. Got my skin from these guys today. It's not that great of a product but works for the price. Application is pretty straight forward but a pain getting it to align with the cameras and flash. The good part is that you can peal and reapply and it doesn't affect the stickiness of the skin. The edges don't stick down at the rounded corners so you definitely need a case over this or it will peal off

You need to heat skins on if the edges are curved.....get your mums hairdryer on it
I had same ssue with mine. Emailed Xtream Skins who offered to send out a replacement (I've gone for camo this time as slate doesn't look as good as on photo render).
They sad that they've changed the design and after looking back at their website you can see that the the skins now wrap around the sides of the phone.
Regards the sides not sticking. I put the case on over the skin and over night the skin stuck completely due to pressure from case. Beats the hairdryer technique that didn't work for me.

Got my black camo skin from Xtreme in the UK. Came within 2 days. The video instructions are really straight forward, I got the back glass one only.
Would take a pic, don't have a spare phone at the minute to do so! Was cheap too. £6.99
Fitting was easy, the key is to activate the glue by using some gentle heat and pressure. No lifts on any corners or sides. No bubbles as it's got air release channels in the back, but you gotta push the air out before you seal the sides! Made that mistake on my iPhone seven last year.
It's definitely less slippy now with a skin on.
Are there any clear skins available state side? I got the Twilight color so would prefer not to hide it but still need some protection.

Check out the SlickWraps man, they offer naked wrap with gloss and matte options, I am planning on getting the twilight color next month as well!! Quick question for yall, anyone has screen latency issue on this device? seems to be a common issue.

Do remember that the application for clear skins will be problematic if it is not a wet install. With skin installation, generally you would have to handle the adhesive with your fingers and that means imparting fingerprints on it. With non-clear skins that isn't an issue as you will not be able to see the smudges. With clear skins you will and the only way to prevent this is to perform a wet install.

Hey guys, just received my skinomi tablet skin and screen protector today. I've only see pics of the carbon fiber one posted on this forum so I decided to share pics of the brushed steel one. I only have the backplate skin pictures since the screen protector looks horrendous right now (bubbles and stuff, which takes a couple days to form a proper seal).

I have been strongly considering getting the Skinomi clear skin for this very reason. I love the color of my Amethyst Grey tablet, but the spun steel collects fingerprints like crazy.
Do you have the dock? If you have, how does the skin fit with it?

Yea I was debating that, but I don't regret my choice. The brushed steel gives it a unique look, while at the same time keeping the professional stock look of the tablet.
I ordered the keyboard dock through BB but it hasn't arrived yet. I will update you whenever it does
I have never used a skin to cover a backplate or skinomi for that matter.
What is the process for removing this thing? Does it end up ruining the backplate with sticky goo if you try to removed it?

I am pretty sure that Skinomi's DryTech skins come off cleanly with no residue. I have used similar skins from other retailers (DecalGirl) and they all came off very cleanly.
Here is a video review of the Carbon Fiber style skin being used on a Macbook, and the reviewer demonstrates that is comes over very cleanly.

I wouldn't say it was irrelevant, but you're entitled to your opinion.
I think that the look of anything but the clear skin just makes the back look tacky. Not so much because of the skin choice, but because the cuts are not 100% accurate. I just can't bring myself to get one because of this.

I want the carbon fiber skin but I'm hesitant because I've seen pictures where it looks almost perfect and others where it looks like crap. I definitely want a skin just not sure if I should get clear or carbon fiber.
I've used a skinomi on my phone before and it really is very strong in terms of protection.
However, since they are not permanent they eventually peel off, depending on how you handle the thing, of course. Constantly moving my phone in and out of my pocket inevitably led it to catch a thread and begin the peeling process.
With a tablet it may be different. I have a netbook bag I use (my wife calls it my man purse ) so it may still face the same dangers of getting caught on my bag fabric and peel off...
As far as the dock, the tablet is pretty snug in it, so I also wonder if the skinomi is thin enough to not bend the connector too much out of place.
The screen protector is top notch though. Took about a week for the bubbles to go away, but it's so nice.
Isn't it gorilla glass? I would never put a screen protector in it, unless fingerprints are much of a concern (SOME protectors do help with that).
However, I really would like to find a quality clear skin for the back. Does the dock have rubber feet? If not, I can see it will get scratched, badly.

That is why I made sure it was a clear screen protector. I got it because the product comes with the screen protector and backplate protector. I didn't like how my fingers dragged on the stock screen and how it attracted so much finger prints. I'm loving the screen protector because it eliminates that and feels very smooth. Also, it doesn't change the screen quality one bit . If you get one of those matte finish anti-glare screen protectors then that would be different..

I have the Skinomi carbon-fiber skin on the back of the Prime, and have noticed no problems with the fit in the keyboard dock. No scuffs or lifts on the Skinomi skin after putting it in and out of the dock multiple times.
FYI- for any of those like me who have been holding off for BSE to release a skin for this phone- they finally have (just got an email from them).. 7 bucks for the whole body skin 5 bucks for just the screen.. Pretty darn good product if you ask me (no, I don't work for em)..

Out of curiosity, does anyone use only BSE or any other "skin" type product, completely without a case? How well does it hold up? I had BSE on my G2x and a case and the thing is 100% mint after 8 months give or take.
I'm with you- when I use BSE- I forget about the bulky case and just go with the skin.. All I'm really worried about in the end is the screen and I've never had a problem with these skins keeping things mint as you said. I only wish they would have come out with them sooner as I've already encountered a small scratch (hadn't got around to installing any protective cover besides the BSE- which should arrive Mon or Tues).
I've used BSE for my iPods and ipads and they are definately a good value. There's no orange peel to the surface when applied and forms a durable seal for the screen with no loss of clarity. I have the Rezound screen protectors on order. Can't wait to apply it.

For whatever reason- it was much easier to apply than on my incredible--maybe it was because I did it in the bathroom with a hot shower running to reduce dust.. No specks or anything.. Great quality as usual- the only thing I'd change is I think they could have made the top piece a little bigger to cover the corners- which are still totally exposed. Looks great though

I suppose I could- but the beauty of these things is that you're really not going to see it (especially in pictures). It adds a little bit of shine to the back since the back in it's natural state is a matte texture. But the screen and top guard- you really can't even tell it's there.

What about the feeling of it? I LOVE InvisibleShield's product for protection, but I didn't like the feeling of it when I was running my fingers all over the screen. Kind of felt a little tacky/sticky a little.
Well- from what I've read- BSE is pretty much the exact material as invisshield- just far cheaper because of their minimal packaging.. That said- maybe it's actually better because I don't notice any sort of tacky/sticky feeling during normal use.. The only case I could see that happening would be in a humid environment- but then again the screen would have a little stick anyways even w/o the protector when it's humid.
Do these have that rubbery feeling like xo skins?
The BSE skins are smooth with no stickiness or rubber like feel. Its almost as smooth as glass after it dries properly after a few days.

You won't regret it- it really is a quality product at very good price.. Just be patient with the install. Get out the big bubbles on the initial squeegee. You may have some bubbles that you perceive to be "big" all of the sudden show up after a few hours of installing it.. Fear not, they will go away after a couple days if not sooner.

I came across them at CES a couple years back and got one for my Galaxy S3. The product itself is really good imo. The only thing I had issues with was for the S3 it didn't wrap all the way around like the Iphone and now G3 models they have. After a few months because of that the edges started peeling up from in and out of the pocket and so forth. Because that is my only experience with them I cant say if the full wrap around is any better. If you do get it be prepared to be precise when putting it on. Once its on its really on! I barely touched it to my backing and was off a little and it wouldn't budge.

That's not a vinyl skin its real wood. Also skins are not stickers there is a difference. The skins are usually made with 3m vinyl the same material that people use to wrap their cars to get a matte look to them. Its also great for protecting your phone from scratches.
Back on top now those cases look nice, has anyone purchased on for their G3 yet? I'm interested in a review once someone does because those look really nice.

I was considering one of these and I asked them via Twitter. They said it's not really designed to go over a tempered glass screen protector. However, the front pieces are an optional extra, so you could just skip them and only cover the back and sides.
I was mistaken, I always refer to vinyl and or anything that's not cheaply made as a skin not a sticker. Thank you for the correction about that.

According to their twitter feed, they designed it so that the backplate could still be removed.

What would be the difference between applying it to the glass rather than the tempered glass protector? Seems like it would work just fine...
I just installed the dbrand full back skin in mahagony and colored google logo.
I love it. Just take your time when applying and it'll be perfect.

The Front is not skinned at all, The skin is only on the back, I don't like the front skins due to the haptics on the edge of the displayn when you slide on to the skin with your fingers.
This back skin, if perfectly aligned, wraps around the edges until it reaches the end of the metal body right before the front glass. There is no visual or haptic issue on the edge of the skin.

There is a video from dbrand, which sums it up quiet nice. It's not difficult. Most of the frustrated buyers just aren't patient enough while applying.
You just need patience...the fit is so precise there is no room for errors
Wow how come there's no visible bumps on the antenna lines and the gap between the glass and aluminium back?
I got the Hyperblack Titanium one and these lines are quite visible.
I'm just curious if you had this problem at all, I installed just a dbrand skin for the back glass panel- and spent a crazy amount of time applying and reapplying it. As, whenever I open the camera with it - the auto focus is a bit messed up in some situations. I've tried to get an exact line-up and it looks pretty good on the back but i can't seem to fix the problem. keep in mind most things i focus on look fine, and if it doesn't I can just tap it and it looks good. I'm just so used to the snappy auto focus right now.
give it a few weeks and you should be able to get one from ColorWare once they get a chance to finish the cut paths. Same materials, better precision, and they also offer painted options in nearly 60 colors (they look freaking sweet when finished).

That's strange. I don't seem to ever have that problem. I applied the full back skin AND the glass panel skin on top of it. Did you check if the laser autofocus cutout is actually cut out?

So you have TWO layers of vinyl over the glass portion on the back? I have a Slickwraps skin right now, but was thinking of having a look at Dbrand. However, I DO NOT want two layers of vinyl there.
Doesn't it make for a sharp, uncomfortable ridge around the fingerprint sensor? Even one layer of vinyl makes for a sharp ridge on mine.

Okay, just to be clear - if I want a different color/texture over the glass portion, I have to apply two layers of vinyl?
If that's the case, I'll probably just stay put with my Slickwraps skin.
A very small thing that has always bothered me about skins is how the power & volume buttons don't protrude as much through the vinyl - makes it a little more difficult to operate the buttons by feel. I can't imagine placing TWO layers of vinyl around the fingerprint sensor.
I have a Slickwraps skin on my old Nexus 5 and a Dbrand on my Nexus 5x. I like them both. I must have put on about 8 or 10 skins, from both vendors, over the past few years and am actually starting to get good at it...

I have never tried Slickwrap but yes, I know what you're saying. It was kind of sharp when I first applied it. But I kept rubbing the edges with the cloth that came with it and it's not too bad now. But I wouldn't say it's completely smooth either. It's just a little sacrifice for having a skin on instead of a bulky case.

I just have a slight visible mark by the back glass. Antenna-lines are no problem.

If i'm honest i don't really know, because I use my camera very unfrequently. But I didn't remarked any different with or without the skin.

AFAIK, the extra layer for the glass only, doesn't reach the buttons at all. That panel is cut to the exact dimensions of the panel itself.
I do agree, that even the one layer of vynil made it harder to press the buttons.

Well, I'm on my 3rd Pixel skin now. I have a fourth one on the way from dbrand - hyper black titanium with matte black glass and silver G logo.
However, the one I put on today (Slickwraps black leather with matte black glass and colored G) was cut differently. I discovered that Slickwraps gives you a 'no glass' coverage option, as well as 'glass only'.
As a result, I have only one layer of vinyl on the glass. I might just replace the colored G from Slickwraps with a silver one from the incoming dbrand kit and call it good.
Now my phone really is 'Quite Black', and still looks like a Pixel. 8-D

On Jul 3rd I pre-ordered two dBrand skins for my OP5 and they arrived on Jul 6th. The two skins were the Mahogany wood (back and camera lens cover) and the Hyperblack Titanium (back with red camera lens cover and red 1+ logo). Even though I wanted to add the front Mahogany skins the fact that I've also ordered the Ozly tpsp screen protector made me realized I'd have issues whenever I needed to replace the screen cover.
Attached are pictures of both skins with accessories un-applied and the Mahogany skins applied including the camera lens cover. Notice that the two Mahogany skins have different wood patterns. Running your finger over each skin I realized that the Mahogany adds almost no additional grip to the slippery naked OP5 while the Hyperblack Titanium skin has more texture which I believed would add more grip. This is not to say that once applied the Mahogany skin did not reduce the overall slipper feel of a naked OP5, as it did. In the future I'll likely try the Hyperblack Titanium but right now I really like the Mahogany's overall look the best.
I still bought a cheap clear plastic case which is currently on a slow boat from China. I'll use it when I'm going someplace where accidents are more likely such as camping or a party. These skins are so thin that I don't anticipate putting the case on to be an issue.
This is the first time I've every bought or applied a skin as I've previously only gone with bumper cases. Over all I think the application went well but I certainly don't have the corner flaps applied as well as seen on dBrand's OP5 application video. Most definitely you need a hairdryer during application as I had a bubble under the skin and heating that section and the bubble's path to the outside saved having to peal the skin off to start again. It works much like you push bubbles out from a clear plastic screen protector. Getting the initial bottom alignment applied properly is the key to the rest of the application. Mess that up and you alignment issues multiply. Heating and stretching the skin is dangerous and only helps with the tiniest of misalignment.
The dBrands fit overall and specifically around the buttons is as perfect as a mass produced item can be. In conclusion, if you choose to use a skin you'd be hard pressed to find a brand with a more accurate fit.
P.S. For grip the Carbon Fiber would likely be your best bet but I thought it was butt ugly so went another way.

No, what appears on the Hyperblack picture as a white 1+ logo is just the skin's backing tape. The Hyperblack I picked has a cut out of the 1+ logo then I ordered the red colored logo cut out to fill in the skin's logo cut out. On the Mahogany skin I chose not to have any 1+ logo so the skin was solid (no logo cut out at all). The Black Dragon skin was already available when I purchased my skins. I was tempted to get that instead of the Hyperblack.
I have no idea when there will be a sale. I didn't feel the price was too excessive. In fact I would have only bought the Mahogany at this time but the added $5 for shipping meant that a second skin only cost me an extra $6 and the shipping on both skins became free. That's much like how Amazon prices small items to be just under the free shipping costs to get you to buy one more item. In this case I went for it as a Hyperblack skin also tempted me.

I previously used the titanium and the hyperblack on my Nexus 6p and I can say that the dragon skin has a very similar texture than the hyperblack. IN terms of looks, I have to say that it looks similar to the hyperblack except for the cracked look/texture and the slight silver highlights in certain areas. All in all, I think it looks amazing on this device.
Im looking to grab one of the Mah Wood one and having it under my Orzly flexi case. It looks pretty amazing with the wood skin. Would you be able to show off the sides of the phone? I would love to see the fit on the sides

Looking good!! I've ordered mine but with red logo cutout. Is there good grip with the black dragon skin? My only quirk with this device so far is how slippy the back is and was hoping the black dragon skin would sort that out for me..

From what dBrand have been saying, the dragon skins look to be quite grippy. I'd love to use skins over cases but don't trust myself enough

I don't trust myself either!! Thinking of getting one of the rhinoshield bumpers so I can keep it looking nice, on the back at least :victory: Hopefully that along with the tempered glass SP I have one will protect it.. and so long as the skin is grippy I hopefully shouldn't drop it.

Just be careful with that combo on a Rhino Shield. they can rip off Tempered glass and the cases lately have been so tight getting them on with even a skin on is really hard and taking it off is even worse. I damaged my OP3 trying to get the Rhino Shield off when using a skin. best results is to cut the skin so it doesn't go up and down the sides or corners of the phone.
I still remember ordering that case there was no warning on the prouduct page about it not working with tempered glass and when I complianed and got nowhere a sudden disclaimer went up :/

It definitely has some texture that helps the phone be less slippery but not as much as I expected. But it certainly help add a decent amount of grip, especially on the sides of the phone which are very thin and rounded.

Ye my mate was saying the RhinoShield on his OP3t is way too tight and difficult to get off. I saw one on a S8 and looks a fair bit looser, hoping it's a bit looser on the OP5 and fits.

never had a bumper but always heard rhinoshield were the best, saw some youtube videos of them being dropped from 10 ft and surviving haha
