Can't find "Allow Unknown Sources" - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

I've been through every Setting option, and it's simply not there. Am I going mad?
Where the heck is it?

[Q] Android noob: where can I get detailed, quality info on Android's settings

Android noob: where can I get detailed, quality info on Android's settings [particulary re. privacy, location and sync].
For example, when you start your phone for the first time you get asked to do you want to use "Google Location". Most people would probably choose yes.
But it is only because of the past 'scandal' about the iPhone and Android devices keeping location data that some of the implications of this option came to light [for me anyway].
I've tried searching for good info but I can't find anything authoritative. It amazes me that Google has provided a fine resource for developers at http://developer.android.com/index.html but there is bugger-all from them for ordinary users like myself.
Some questions that come to mind that I'd like to know more about:
How does A-GPS [assisted GPS] fit in to Android's "Google Location" service? Does it correspond to the Settings/Location and Security/Use Wireless Networks option? Or is it something else entirely?
How does "Use Sensor Aiding" fit in with "Google Location" service? Does it phone home to Google or is it like the GPS sensor (i.e. it does'nt phone home to Google)
Or what exactly is synced when you enable "Background data" as you have to, to use Android Market and why must it be enabled to use the Market?
Thanks for any help.

[Q] Enable developer settings Nexus 7 4.4.2

Hi,
I have the old Nexus 7 with stock 4.4.2, and I want to enable developer settings.
I have found many references to Settings -> About (Tablet) -> And click 7 times on build number - but that simply does not work. I have tried tapping it 1 million times and nothing happens. If I tap "Android Version 4.4.2" in the same menu, I get the whole spinning K, kitkat, easter-egg game etc.
What am I missing? How do I enable developer settings?
I had searched for a good hour, but of course I find the answer right after posting the question. Only the FIRST user (tablet owner) has access to developer settings. I was using another user account.

[MESUIT i6P Android Case] Interesting problem rooting an Android 5.1 Device

Hello there!
So I purchased the strangest "Android Phone" I've ever owned in the form of an iPhone case. Some folks around here probably know about this but for those who don't:
https://item.jd.com/3254140.html
It's essentially a phone within a case but minus the screen, camera and various other things. It "borrows" them from the iPhone itself. Anyway! As cool as that is (and I still think it's super cool in a geeky kind of way)... the issues I'm having are:
- I can't root this thing no matter what I try!
- I can't find the option within Developer Settings to enable ADB debug mode (I suspect either a build.prop value disabled it or I've got a modified settings app.)
- I can't get Play Store installed on the thing.
It's a straight from China device so it's tricky to setup and use but I've just about managed it for the most part. As I say - the main problem is I can't root it so I can't install Play Store (I've tried the "no root" options but they seem to force close and/or be unable to connect to google services despite the fact that the /system/etc/hosts file only has localhost in it.)
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I'm more than happy to tip anyone who manages to help me get this thing rooted or at least running Play Store in some other way!
Thanks!
Managed to root it - info over at:

How to stop Google Assistant from asking to unlock the phone

From some time, even simple commands like 'Play Music' to google assistant is replied with 'You need to unlock your phone"
"Turn off lights" "You need to unlock your phone"
"Remind me for something" "You need to unlock your phone."
How can I stop it from asking me to unlock my phone?
"unlock with voice match" option is absent from my GA. Is there a way to get it back?
IIRC Google ditched it as it's not secure

If it's unsecure then how come Siri on Apple doesn't ask you unlock the phone.
If I say "play music" that doesn't work. But if I say "play coldplay" which works. How's that? Google Assistant is becoming unpredictable like a teenager.

What can i do with this?

Hi guys. I just have a ChromeBook Acer for school work and that kind of stuff. And i have almost all blocked (shell at crosh, play store, linux mode...). I was thinking about turning developer mode on, but, if i do that, that'll wipe all chromebook stored stuff, and thats not viable...
Well, before my highschool found that the play store was unlocked, i downloaded some apps like "termux" or "termius ", to connect my house servers. And i still having that applications.
What can i do with this? Should i turn on developer mode on?, And if i do that... can i restore all my account things?
PD: i cannot add a non-school mail.

From what you described, it looks like the one you have is from your school. The school administrator disabled all non-class related stuff. If you want to do the things you mentioned, simply go get a chromebook under you control.
I suggest you buy your own Chromebook rather than trying to hack one that doesn't belong to you.
