Accidental photo delection. Please Help me! - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello to all,
I accidentally deleted the folder of photos taken by the camera, after 1 second I clicked cancel and I received the message "operation canceled" but the folder is gone. I tried different software for recovery from the PC but no one sees the photos I deleted. They see old photos deleted some time ago, but there are no traces of those in that folder. I tried with recovery programs directly from android (knowing that overwriting I would have made some photos unrecoverable) but nothing. I tried to take a picture to recreate the folder but nothing. It seems that the photos in that folder never existed. Is it possible that, having canceled the cancellation, the folder is messed up but has remained in the phone?
What can I do?

[Q] Kies: How I do to restore memo?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S2. When I did a firmware update, I did a backup of everything.
Then I did a firmware update, of course it failed, dont know why, I think it was because I was using a USB 1.1 socket on the computer, since the emergency restore worked when switching to a USB 2.0 socket on the back of the computer.
Now I have lost everything. When I try to restore, everything is greyed out. Had some important passwords saved into "Memo" in the phone and need to get them back.
How I do to restore the memo data?
The first attachment show the backup screen, and the second screen show that the memo (in swedish: "Anteckningar") is greyed out. Everything in Personal details (swedish: "Personuppgifter") is greyed out.
How I do to restore the memo data? Only option is to restore some photos.
Solved it. Did this, first I started recovery, since I had some heavy files, I could start a very long recovery.
Then I went into my document folder, where the SBU files are placed. Kies does a temporary extraction, so I could go into the file, and found a memo.bk file.
Copied it to desktop, renamed to .txt and found this:
BEGIN:VCALENDAR
VERSION:1.0
BEGIN:VEVENT
DESCRIPTION;CHARSET=UTF-8;ENCODING=QUOTED-PRINTABLE:PASSWORD1=0APASSWORD2
DTSTART:20111010T110217Z
X-ALLDAY:UNSET
END:VEVENT
END:VCALENDAR<#JIG#><#COUNT#>1
(of course I don't show the passwords here, thats why they are replaced Password1 and Password2)
Thanks!

Thanks a million buddy
Almost a year and a half later since you posted this, but you just saved me!
Had the same problem after updating from ICS to Jellybean, all my important data and password info in my memo files
When i tried to tick the box to restore, it was all greyed out to my disappointment.
So i started the restore process, when the error came up, navigated to the temp folder within Kies directory and BAM! memo file right there.
Thanks again!

[Q] Download folder refresh after phone reset (galaxy nexus)

Hello all,
After doing a phone reset back to stock, (Galaxy Nexus 4.0.4) I copied back all my previous saved items from the "Downloads" folder (I had copied the Downloads folder to my PC) and copied them back to the phone.
Now when I open the "Downloads" app it doesn't show anything there. I had documents, pdfs, jpeg, etc.
NEW downloads from market, etc do appear, but nothing else. How do I get the system to refresh the contents of that folder? I've tried Settings, Media, Clear, but that doesn't do anything.
It's almost as if the phone recongnizes timestamps of the day of the refresh, but anything earlier is not recognized.
Any assistance appreciated

I'm having this same issue. I rest my Galaxy Nexus to stock (and have since OTA updated to 4.2.1), copied the Downloads folder over, but cannot get them to show up on my device. Did you find a solution to this?

[Q]All gallery files disappeared

Suddenly all my pictures and videos disappeared. All Viber, Whats app, Screenshots, camera, downloaded - everything... Only new ones I take are showing. The files are missing in the folders too. I have two DCIM folders - one on internal and another on external drive but they are empty now. I tried File Explorer, ES File Explorer with "show hidden files", and I've checked all of the device folders, but I can not find any of my pictures or videos. I tryed with QuickPic - same sh**... If i connect my device to my PC the result is the same. The PC recovery soft which I test, found about 3000 files, and with all emoticons and trash there were my pictures but in very low res. So I tried Hexamob Recovery Pro (from the Play store), but the result was the same - about 12 000 junk files and some of mine in low res... The method with deleting all .nomedia files doesn't work. Than I've installed Undelete - This app found about 300 files, and these were all of the missing files, but when I tried to restore them, It asked for a license key... The free version could restore only pics...one by one... You can't select all!!!
So how to restore all my stuff without stupid apps!?
*my camera freezes often. "Could not connect the camera" appeares, and I need to reboot to solve this prob
Samsung GT-I9300
Android Version 4.1.2
Baseband I9300UELK1
Kernel 3.0.31 -Siyah-1.8.6+
AOKP Milestone -1 Jelly Bean
Omega v4.2
Where are these files stored (hidden), what is there extension? And why only Undelete can find the proper files with their full resolution!?
So, I found that Undelete detects files at DCIM\DCIM\Camera, but even with "show hidden " explorers does not see the second DCIM folder... Any suggestions !?
You can try
http://android-photo-recovery.com/tutorials/recover-deleted-photos-from-samsung-galaxy-s3.html
Or buy the Undelete licence .
Or read the multiple identical lost photos / files posts .

Thanks!
But I already checked similar posts, and stil can't find solution .. The soft that you recommended, resulting small images too.. The idea is not only to recover, but to prevent future problems of this kind.. I want to understand what causes that

.nomedia folder doesn't show any pictures - says "no files" in the folder

Hi android community,
I bought recently a Motorola Moto G (2015). I wanted to hide some pictures from being seen when I'm scrolling through the phone - so I created a new folder ".nomedia" and switched about 30 pictures into this new folder. It worked great - my gallery didn't show these pictures anymore. Unfortunately it worked too great. I removed the "." to make the pictures visible again, but there are no pictures. I renamed the folder again into just "NewAlbum" - still no pictures. I browsed with the ES file manager to the directory, but the folder is empty. It says there are no files . Could it be that my 30 pictures are just deleted like this?! Can I make them visible again?
I also took out the SD-card and put it in again - no effect
So basically my problem is - the folder is still there, I can see it. But it is empty
Is there any possibility to got my pictures back?
My device is Motorola Moto G3 (2015), Android 6.0.1

Recover Whatsapp stickers

I had autoupdate to google drive turned off for Whatsapp. Got myself a new phone now, and I had coppied the "stickers.db.crypt14" from my old phone already before it got bricked. It was in the "backup folder" and because of this I thought it was the only file needed to recover a backup. I had a lot of stickers and so it's actually a big file. So for this it seemed verry obvious that this was the file I needed.
But now I try to restore and I come across toppics on google and here, talking about more files from other dirs too.
Is it possible to restore stickers from only this "stickers.db.crypt14" file?
I also backuped another, containing all (or at least most of all the individual stickers as a "image" file.
