I'm getting really sick of Samsung not letting us unlock until after a week. Is there anyway to root with a locked bootloader? Or get oem unlocking option before the week is up?
Also sidenote if anyone can help answer, does anyone have exynos s9+ in us on att? My battery is awful and I don't know why.

Hi,
I've noticed similar thread about O2 but couldn't find anything regarding 3 UK. Is there anyone around here who got their S2 from 3 UK? If so, was it locked to 3 or network branded (the phone itself and software)?
Thanks!
Doesnt matter if it is locked, there is an app to unlock it, Chainfire made it if I remember correctly. should be in theme and apps section.
Thanks a lot stoney. Good news in case I decide to keep it.
The trouble is I want to sell the phone and wouldn't like to open the box to check if it's unlocked and that's why I was wondering if it was normally locked if it comes from 3. Not sure if the potential buyer would be happy to unlock the phone themselves using the software from the forums.
In case anyone else is interested in - my S2 was locked to 3 but it was possible to unlock it
My 3 sgs2 was not locked but is branded, I have not checked my replacement but I guess it will be the unlocked the same
Just purchased the phone and of coarse the oem unlock isn't under DEV options. I tried the work around and had no luck. So I guess the 7 day clock has started for it to appear. Is it possible that it will never appear? If so I need to return the phone back to the buyer on Swappa. Only reason I ask that question is that when I received the phone today the Dev options was already enabled, hmmm?
I've done a lot of digging and seen people say that USA variants of Samsung's phones cannot have their boot loaders unlocked. They never go into detail on as to why. I'm not looking for a miracle or asking to have my device unlocked. I've accepted that's not gonna happen in any practical or painless manner aside from just giving up and buying an international version. I just want to know in detail on why they can't be unlocked. What did Samsung do to USA variants that essentially keep the phones locked down? What is the blockade that spells "game over" for any attempt to unlock the device, and where can I find more documentation on what it does or is? Is it some kind of hardware-enforced mechanism that locks it down? I have not dived into the weeds for the android OS and smartphones, but I know nothing about any device is just "magic".
What makes these devices so hard to unlock?
I can't find anything explaining what it is aside from the ocean of articles crying:
"SAMSUNG HATES US! HOW TO UNLOCK YOUR SAMSUNG A10 WITH THIS SIMPLE TRICK!"
"USE OEM UNLOCK IN DEV MODE TO UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER, AND IF IT'S NOT THERE, I DON'T KNOW".
"SO EASY! DOWNLOAD THIS NON-SUSPICIOUS SOFTWARE TO MIRACULOUSLY ROOT YOUR A10!"
Hello, I got T-Mobile to unlock my OEM bootloader for 2 month temporary. Is there anyway to root it while it's temp unlocked or is there a bigger chance of the phone just bricking/locking up.
Thanks.

From what I have read, that temp unlock only unlocks the SIM card. That means the bootloader will still be locked.

I'm not entirely sure about that. I thought I saw once the sim unlock was in place the oem switch became active. And @daveybfilms once you unlock the bootloader it will remain unlocked unless you lock it manually again. Not 100% on either of those assumptions.
From everything I have seen the temp unlock from T-Mobile will not allow for the oem unlock toggle to work. Though admittedly I am struggling with my permanent sim unlock and oem unlock too so I may also be incorrect.
There is another active thread about this same thing. You might want to jump on that one and combine resources.

I gave up on pointing people in the right direction. And helping keeping the Pixel 6 thread cleaner.
People do not even do the basic search before posting and there have been some really dumb questions lately.
So let the peeps wade through the garbage to find what they need.
I am just going to take care of myself.
Good luck..
Can someone help me out with this one. A coworker of mine saw a deal on ebay for this S21 and bought it. The seller claimed it was unlocked and there shouldn't be any problems. Lo and below, when he got the phone, it was locked and giving error codes when trying to permanently unlock it.
We decided to check with T-Mobile on Facebook and they said that the imei is not in their system so they cannot unlock it. Anyone know of another alternative method or so to get this phone unlocked?
