Trying to update Tmobile Note8 to Oreo - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions & Answers

Not sure if this is in the right section, if not, sorry in advanced.
I'm trying to flash this version of Oreo to my Note 8:
sammobile[dot]com/firmwares/galaxy-note8/SM-N950U/TMB/download/N950USQU3CRC2/213447/
Odin says Pass but the phone reboots and it shows its still running Android 7.1.1.
Currently running: N950USQU3BRA9
Developer mode is enabled on device.
Odin v3.12.3, also tried 3.11.1 but I see "odin version error!" on the Downloading screen...

I tried flashing CRC2 over this install but it didn't seem to do anything. Either way I'm on 8.0.

See where it says skip file list for home binary & all those lz4 files? All those are not being installed which basically means nothing is getting installed as you have experienced.
Most if not all of the Samsung official Oreo firmwares are using lz4 compression now. Need to use Odin 3.13.1 for firmwares that are using lz4.

This sounds like the .tar file you are using is corrupted maybe. You may need to re-download it.
What file did you download and where did you get it from? What guide are you following?

Yikes. You're lucky you didn't do some serious damage to your phone.
For doing this downgrade, do you need to use the PIT or something else?
Or just the standard ODIN config?
Is just this or more (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278):

Your question is really way off topic.
Are you first sure the .tar is correct for your phone?
You should ask and read the instalation instructions from the developer first.

Galaxy S2 Stuck on yellow triangle booting screen. HELP!

Hi guys, i can't get past my booting screen. (yellow triangle).
I flashed this file (below) for root acces. Everything in Odin was OK.
CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_LP7-v5.4-CWM5.tar
But hey! It didn't get past the screen, no matter what.
I already tried to flash the siyah kernel etc. (Odin was OK again).
And when I try to flash a stock rom from sammobile it fails in Odin.
What can I do???
The sticker on the phone chassis under the battery; what does it say ?

Three things come to mind:-
1) Your NAND is stuffed. Barfing at "NAND write start' is a bit of a tell.
2) When you're doing your Odin flash, are you checking in Windoze Task Manager that Kies/any of its processes aren't running, and if they are, killing those processes ?
3) The rom/kernel packages you've downloaded could be corrupted/damaged. I had this problem when I first got my phone; at one stage I had to DL a rom from a net cafe because every package I was downloading from home ended up with a corrupt archive (files within the zip/tar missing or damaged). Try downloading a rom from a different internet connection at another location/on another network/carrier to rule this in/out.

can u upload screenshot of the odin after selecting the ROM file
After selecting the ROM file? There's nothing special to see yet. Just the PDA is marked. (with the file name on the right.)
And just Auto Reboot and F Reset Time are marked, nothing else.
Maby it is a NAND write issue, what to do about it? And Odin fails with every rom I try. Kernels are just flashing OK.
If the NAND is stuffed, it's a motherboard replacement job. Do what I suggested; download a full rom using a different internet connection.

Are you plugged from the phone into a port directly into a port on the computer? Not using a USB hub or a port pass-through on a keyboard or monitor? Have you tried another cable?

My phone suddenly stopped working and I only have access to download mode..

Usually Complete(Write) operation failed is not a good sign and can be corrupt partitions or emmc failure. You could try changing usb ports (yes this as worked for some people) also try a different version of Odin I have always found Odin 1.85 good. To be honest it's not looking too good.

Only a couple of things left to try:
Try flashing just a BLFB bootloader (search this forum for an Odin version)
Try removing the battery once Odin is connected.
If both the above fail then you have a brick, time for a new motherboard/phone.

No OEM Unlock in Developer Options SM-G925A

hi, I have a SM-G925A with Nougat 7.0 and August 2017 security patch, but I can't find OEM Unlock option in developer options, most posts online say that means it should be already unlocked, but when trying to flash twrp with odin in download mode, it says Secure Check Fail (Recovery), does anyone have any information about this?
Edit: Also, download mode says "SECURE DOWNLOAD: ENABLED"

You have G925A. Your boot loader is permanently locked by at&t and they remove the oem unlock option.
The reason twrp won't flash again is because your boot loader is locked and cannot be unlocked.
I've tried doing the same as OP did and my phone is basically stuck on booting and never gets past the galaxy s6 edge logo, I've also sent to it to some mobile shops but none of them could fix it , is there any solution to this ??

ok, i have a sm-j727t and i also have no option for oem,. in fact i have a sm-910t ans a sch-s968c and they do not have that option either and the only one ive seen is my friends older j7 that has that option. i cant even root my j727t, so its obvious that tmobile has removed that option and the root process using cf autoroot and another and two other software i found online with odin gets me the "secure check fail (recovery)" message and kingo, kingroot and dr.fone do not support this j7 model. what can i do to remedy this crap. can anyone help? or will i just get a smartmouth answer like some that ive been seeing.
