After a factory reset, i noticed that to add an microsoft active sync account option is missing....
Where can I get it back?? It's deleted?
thanks for any help
EAS account is provided by the Samsung Mail app and after resetting you have to download it because it is not embedded in the software.

Hi all,
I was planning to reset my hero, but before I do that I wanted to know whether syncing the contacts with google contacts after the reset, would wipe out all my contacts from the google server or would it consider it to be a "fresh sync" and add all the contacts from the server to my phone. Currently my contacts are synced with google contacts. Waiting for you reply. Thanks in advance.. Cheers !!
no, it will sync them.
So whatevers on the server will be copied to the phone. You wont lose whats on the server, dont worry.
I noticed recently that my phone wasn't reminding me of my calendar reminders. When I went to check the settings i see that my primary google calendar is missing. I tried to add the calendar back by going into setting and calendar but I have no option to make it visable. I tried re-signing in but i get a message saying there is already an account for my gmail.
I know a full factory reset will fix this but before I do any suggestions?
Thanks
Mark
Bump: I've been trying to fix my missing calendar issue for the day and now luck.
Check yours... Has your calendar account disappeared?
How do you get it back?
Did you clear data by any chance? I was just trying to correct my calendar account on my Scroll Excel, as it somehow associated its self with the wrong email address, and when I cleared the data from both the calendar app and the calendar storage through manage apps, I managed to get rid of the wrong email address.
Now I just need to find out how to put the right email in!
hmm, i also once noticed i didnt had the calender for my google birthdays, but i couldnt find a fix (didnt look for long though because i was going to flash a rom anyways) so i did factory reset and flashed new rom and now it works fine.
try to remove your google account (correct one), then clear the data of your calendar and then add him again?
Trying to resolve the Market issue, I removed my Google Account and reinstalled it, but this deleted all my synced contacts in the process.
Is there any way to recover them?
Sorry for not helping - because I can't - but am curious as to which "market issue" you're referring to?
Login to your gmail account on a PC and select contacts. If they are there you should be fine.
They should re sync when the account is added again. If not go on a computer and check the contacts in gmail, if they are gone which means they are deleted from the server. Gmail allows you to restore you contact list back to any point in the last 30 days. So it is really hard to accidently lose anything permanently.
Thanks for the help. Solved.
Hi all,
I have set up my hotmail account on my Samsung S3 however, when I delete an email on my phone I do not want it deleted from the Hotmail server. Is there an option to do this or is it just tough
Thanks
No takers?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA
You set it on the Hotmail account itself. Log in from a desktop computer and go into POP3 settings - you should be able to find a setting in there that allows you to decide whether to delete emails from the server when they're deleted from the device.
Mmmm thanks for the reply but I have tried that. Seems once you delete them from the S3 they are deleted from Hotmail also. On most other devices there is an option to stop deletion from the server.
Any other help?
Depends what sort of account you've set up on the phone. If it's POP3, the method I've described above will work - however if you're using Exchange / Activesync, since that sort of account is direct sync, there is no option to leave mail on the server when you delete from the device as far as I know.
That's the one. Thanks chap. Now I've done it I am not sure I prefer the POP3 setup BUT at least I have the option.
Hi all, new here and since Microsoft Outlook mail claims it's a Samsung issue and Samsung never answers, I hope anyone here knows what to do.
I use Outlook mail, and I had it always installed on my Samsung Galaxy A5 2017 mail app. It automatically synced my contacts and calendar also on the Samsung stock apps. Very convenient.
Now, however, it stopped working. I tried reinstalling it, but it constantly gives the message that it cannot connect to the server. I CAN set it up as IMAP, but that's obviously not what I want as it won't sync contacts and calendar.
After Microsoft claimed it was a Samsung problem I tried to set up the Outlook account via active exchange sync in the (terrible) Gmail app. Same result: cannot connect to the server.
I have used various configuration settings, incl. manual set up (eas.outlook.com, m.hotmail.com, etc.) and obviously the password is correct.
The Outlook app I now had to install does not sync calendars and contacts, by Outlooks own admission (seriously....?) so that's no option.
I want to simply connect my Samsung stick apps again to active exchange sync as it has always done. And Microsoft says its not them...
Anyone has any suggestion?
thanks!
Bart
