1) you need to read some more
2) you probably open the command prompt from the wrong folder
3) you haven't set your environment paths
If you don't know what 2 and 3 mean then that proves you haven't done enough of number 1
Thank you !
Dear cdzo72
Thanks for your advices that I can flash any custom recovery to my Dell Streak 5 , but new question come : Whethet not all recoveries applicable to Dell Streak 5 or some technical problems which I cannot still tackle ?

First of all what are you trying to get accomplish?
By flashing StreakMod you are then able to flash zip files (custom ROM's, themes, etc...)
Stock recoveries are for flashing stock ROM update packages. The recovery has to match the ROM or at least the region.
Now let me say this again as politely as possible.... The fact that you asked what you did proves 1 of two things.... You haven't read OR you don't understand what you're reading. In either case I strongly suggest you get a grasp of what you are doing BEFORE you end up with a device you can't repair

Hi, did you finally manage to create fastboot rom?
Thanks for your reply.
Any time I try to enter the boot loader to install custom ROM(s), etc., I get an error message upon booting stating: "Start Up Failed. Your device didn't start up successfully. Use the Verizon Software Repair Assistant on a computer to repair your device." and in the top left, in red, it says "SECURE FAIL: KERNEL". What I had to do to get back into the OS was put it into download mode, but after doing that pressing cancel, and it boots just fine. Any way to bypass that stupid Verizon error? I have tried many different methods and many different custom recoveries.

This is normal...
It's just letting you know that you don't have a stock Recovery/Firmware installed and the "Kernel" reference just reflects the Custom Recovery and not the Stock installed.
Just ignore it...
I even get a similar message on my Galaxy S5 as well.

Yes, okay, but how do I actually access the recovery? I can't get into the recovery at all, and ODIN doesn't let me install any recoveries, either. I just get that error, and I can't access the recovery whatsoever (home, volume up, and power), I just get that error. Therefor, it's not that normal. lol

I thought that you had a Custom Recovery installed already...
Try turning your device off, then press and hold the Home Button and Volume Up, while holding those two, press and hold the power button. The device should vibrate once and then a second or so after the first screen displays, release all the buttons and, if TWRP was successful, you should enter into TWRP. If not then you should enter into the stock recovery.

Like I said, I can't access the recovery AT ALL. After I tried installing TWRP through the app, it said it was installed successfully, but when I try to reboot into recovery, I get that Verizon start up error, and I can't actually access the recovery. I tried reinstalling the original recovery and no luck at all, it just fails when I do it through ODIN, or any other way.

What was the Firmware version your device was installed with?
I've got a feeling that you might have Soft Bricked your device because of the Bootloader being locked down.
The only Firmware that can have its Bootloader Unlocked is the one that ends with "MDK".

I was never able to figure out how to figure that out. See, I can still use the phone, I just can't access the recovery. I'm assuming it's MD2 since I can't actually access it, but I read online that the S4 wasn't even locked. And, I have no idea how to unlock the bootloader and how to "unbrick" my device, because agian, ODIN does not like to work for me.

If you can fully boot the device (assuming you can), you can go into your system settings, About phone, and see what the Android or Baseband Version shows.

Yes, I can see that. It is Android 5.0.1, and the baseband version is I545VRSGPL1, but I'm unsure what that is, because I don't see MD2 or the other one.

This means that your Bootloader cannot be Unlocked...
The "MD2" would have to be where the "PL1" is and this device cannot be downgraded any farther than "OC1" (which is only 2 Firmwares down) and everything above MD2 is locked up.
If the device works as is with that message you originally asked about, i don't believe that it would hurt to continue using it.
As far as myself, I would probably want to flash the "PL1" firmware and also use the pit file as well (pit = Partition Information Table).
Everything you need is on the following thread with instructions and such on the OP.

I hope your next message on the above thread is a successful one!

Unfortunately that is exactly what I mean. A Custom Firmware requires that the Bootloader be unlocked with a Custom Recovery to install it and your device has a Locked Up Bootloader.
There's other options for a device with a Locked Bootloader...
There's TW Based Firmware. The best way to describe this is that it's a Customized Stock Firmware. It's Debloated and other enhancements.
I have 2 I545 devices with one of them in the same boat as you. My choice of TW Based Firmware is the Stang5litre.
I know that this is a bummer and if there was a way, I would definitely have let you know.

Ah okay, makes sense. Even though I can't install any firmwares whatsoever. The phone won't even install stock ROMs, but most phones don't for me for whatever reason, and I know I'm not even doing anything wrong. lol

This device is definitely a temperamental one...
Go to that last link and use one of the Odin versions intended for this device and the pit file too.
Sometimes using another USB Cable and/or a different USB Port on the PC can make a difference as well.

But, it's okay. I just wanted Android O to use for myself, because AT&T is taking way too long releasing it for the Note 5. lol
Hi there
i need some help because I cant find an answer after long searching:
I have installed TWRP and rooted my galaxy s7 edge according to the guide from here. After that I installed the TGP custom firmware by rebooting into TWRP, click on 'format data' and flashed the zip file. All is working perfect. But then i tried to install Youtube Vanced, its also a zip file. So I reboot into TWRP, trying to flash and got the error message I wrote above. Do I have to always format data first to mount the /data storage? This method is very time wasting, is there an other solution to flash zip files with root?
thanks

UNLESS asked to do so, PLEASE don't PM me regarding support. Sent using The ClaRetoX Forum App on my Enigma Machine {aenigma = Latin for "Riddle"}.
My Samsung M20 not boot and shows in red "only official binaries are allowed to flash" and immediately shutdown. and also download mode is not open by pressing power and volume up button. Instead of starting recovery mode by pressing buttons my phone immediately shutdown when i release both buttons. This is all happened when i flash into twrp using odin and then install magisk 18.1 in twrp recovery and clean dalvik cache. My device started and boot into samsung one ui OS. But when i restart the device to install super user in Twrp recovery, the problem happened which i stated in start.
