Oreo update breaks camera! - LG V30 Questions & Answers

So I've got and OTA last week to Oreo that I was waiting for long time especially hoping for camera improvements. Unfortunately the update brought many issues with camera that make me want to return to the Nougat. The camera became very unstable and unpredictable. both with AI on and off. Focusing and mattering is chaotic and lead to the camera to do some weird thing like taking all black pictures, create swirls (no, those are not motion blurs), or smear pictures (samples below). Switching AI on or off does not improve the situation. The phone worked fine under exact same conditions on Android 7

Try factory reset? Others have reported great improvements with the Oreo camera.
Which model do you have, which OTA did you receive and install? For instance initial Verizon Oreo KDZ didn't have the AI, but now second OTA update does.

Let's get this thing going, Lollipop?

From CES 2015, Mike Fasulo, the CEO of Sony Electronics, announced that the entire Xperia Z series will get Lollipop next month.
Are you guys excited for it or no? With the new Lollipop update, you guys think we will receive the simultaneous voice and data with it too? Will this update also unlock software features that our phone were supposed to have (FM Tuner, Location-based Wi-Fi, etc)?
What do you guys think?
Edit.. because i am an idiot and realized what board I was in.. oops.
I'd expect Verizon to take a little longer with the update considering their history with other phones.
In terms of features, I doubt you'd see any of the missing features being introduced. If verizon wanted to give us FM radio they would have done it in the original release. Voice and data, on the other hand, are expected to be in this update
Now would the Lollipop update itself fix the issue with simultaneous voice and data? I was under the impression that it would need to be an update on the Verizon end. Verizon will probably delay the Lollipop update by a few weeks to work their software updates into it as well.

Technically the VoLTE or Advanced Calling 1.0 feature is a separate update, but it is highly likely Verizon will be working that update into the Lollipop update to minimize OTAs so close together.
Something tells me Sony is also working to get the OTA to start at 5.0.1 right from the start. It would be nice if Verizon is already working with Sony to include all of their junk.
Otherwise, we might expect the other Sony devices to get their update in February and March, and after Verizon takes their sweet time with excessive testing and adding in all of their junk, we might be lucky to see an update by April.

So true, Verizon has a history of impeding updates, adding bloatware and locking the OS.
Funny Verizon adds the bloat and we try and remove it, why waste their time and money adding it if they know we are just going to remove it, makes no sense, but we are talking about Verizon here.
Just think of all the millions Verizon would save if it just stopped adding bloatware in. Knowing how greedy Verizon is you would think they (Verizon) would stop and reap the profits from it.
Lollipop being used with the Bravia TV, in one part of the video you see they pull down the lollipop quick settings

Verizon Marshmallow

Verizon is reported to be rolling out marshmallow updates, per android authority
http://www.androidauthority.com/verizon-lg-g3-marshmallow-update-668715/
Good news
VS985 USER
This program isn't even showing me the 35B KDZ. Don't know if LG changed their URLs (which I'm pretty sure all the program uses). It's always worked for me in the past.
Alternative is they already pulled the 35B KDZ before posting the new one.
Ah, the IMEI for my G Pad 8.3 in that program also produces no downloadable KDZ, so LG must have changed something.
And the website linked in the program seems to take me to a different site than it was before.

Well, for the official, you'll have to wait until Verizon pushes it out. They always push out OTAs in batches.
Or, find a custom ROM.
Overall, patience.
UPDATE:
Looks like the G3 isn't the only one accidentally getting Marshmallow pushed out to select devices by accident:
http://phandroid.com/2016/01/25/galaxy-s5-marshmallow-update/
I'm getting frustrated. I plugged my G3 into my computer and it pops up saying an upgrade is available for my VS985 4G. I hit upgrade now then it tells me I'm up to date. I really hate waiting.

Incredibly annoying issues with LG v30 H931

Hello! I've owned my LG v30 for a long while now, bough it from AT&T, paid it off and swiftly left AT&T for another company after unlocking the device (just as a quick history of the device). Not long after purchasing it, the phone began to have terrible wifi connectivity issues. For a while after a boot it will be fine, but it starts to lose connection after a while, with the wifi slowly getting slower and slower until it's unresponsive. Either turning wifi off and on again or rebooting the phone resets this degradation of wifi quality. Also, bluetooth is iffy at best. When connected it works fine, but connecting to devices is annoying, and especially my headphones will have a hard time actually connecting to the device, though I have found no consistency to this. Youtube playback is also terrible. The first video when I connect to wifi plays just fine at full quality, but every single subsequent video buffers infinitely until I turn my wifi off and back on, at which point the video loads immediately, but at extremely low quality, forcing me to manually change the quality. This may be related to the wifi problem, but it also might possibly (big maybe here) be just the wifi I'm using (dorm wifi). For a while in my dorm cafeteria, I could load videos over and over instantly at full quality, watch one, watch another, all perfectly fine. Whether this was a coincidence or not I have no idea, but it's very annoying, as my phone shows full bars in my dorm. Another issue unrelated to connectivity is autocorrect being extremely aggressive. Whether this is a PEBKAC issue or a phone issue I have no idea, but GBoard's autocorrect seems unreasonably aggressive on my phone. Finally, I've notived that every single gcam mod, while working great on the back camera, produces green, extra high contrast, ugly, low resolution, out of focus pictures if HDR is on. Is this a known problem or is it something else to add to my issues?
It's possible all these issues are coincidental from poor location and wifi quality, pebkac errors, and me being oblivious to known issues with the v30, but if not I'd like to know if others have these or similar issues, and if they can be fixed (if they're software issues). These problems persist between all types of firmware, from stock to AOSP, through full wipes and KDZ installation, so I'm thinking it might be hardware (which is strange given how well I've taken care of the device) or, again, coincidental.

What stock firmware version are you on?
A lot of what you mention is extra software you installed that did not come with the phone and has nothing to do with hardware or stock firmware.
Various AOSP ROMs are going to have problems. They are works in progress. You chose to install them instead of stock firmware. I'm not criticizing hard work of devs in any way.
Gcam has nothing to do with your phone. Gcam ports are imperfect, and in the threads users suggest fixes and favorite releases you can live with. You chose to install it and not use stock camera.
Gboard has nothing to do with your phone, that's Gboard -- and you have to look at what words showing are going to be typed. I use Gboard every day, instead of LG keyboard. And yes, I have to correct words Gboard insists on typing -- but I know there's nothing wrong with my phone. It's an installed app you chose over other keyboards available, as I have also done. I loved Swype keyboard but it's no longer being developed, and Swift keyboard doesn't have the feature I use all the time.
But for stock camera, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, on rooted stock firmware, what firmware are you running? There have been fixes and improvements from LG over the course of Oreo especially, like to camera and even addition of DTS 3D stereo. If you have latest US998 20G or even latest H931 stock firmware zip, then I don't know. I'm on Bluetooth every day and have no issues. I use stock camera every day and have no issues. I'm only on WiFi at home, but have no issues.
But I also use the Anxious V30 Magisk module which has Wi-Fi and camera improvements.

New T-Mobile June software update(ASF7) just released for the trio of S10 phones

Hi all! Just checked for software update and currently installing it on my S10e with T-Mobile firmware. The update includes June security patch, but I am afraid it still doesn't contain camera night mode! Hopeful that T-Mobile will release a second update in a week or two...
And still no camera update............
I noticed a new kernel dated June 13th. Anyone have details of the changes?
Anyone have it posted? I am traveling without a computer and could use an assist
This has the new bootloader. I have also noticed a slightly faster fingerprint sensor

Possibly a V2 Bootloader version. I also read that no downgrade would be possible to builds with V1

You mean you want the update file? If yes, Go here: https://firmware.science/ then pick your model and latest build # that you have...
I have a bug with this update. The navigation button that allows to switch apps now just reduces the window of the current app. Way to decrease ergonomy...
Anyone has that firmware for exynos model?
I mean that has t mobile features for exynos
Looks like first signs of night mode coming to AT&T S10 units:
https://www.gsmarena.com/at_ts_gala..._night_mode_through_new_update-news-37883.php
Just went from ASD9 to ASF6 downloaded from firmware science and my camera has dedicated night mode.
Thanks. That's good news

You don't tell us what variant you have. All Pie are not equal.
Make sure you are on the most recent Pie. Just saying you are on "Pie" doesn't tell us anything. EU H930 30b was horrible, 30d/30q is better. A third release is coming soon. 2nd releases are coming soon for all other variants.
US998 Pie 30b is very wonky. Other North American Pie KDZ like Verizon VS996 and Canada H933 seem to be better.
India H930DS 30b seems very good.
If your variant doesn't have a 2nd release yet, then downgrade back to last Oreo and wait for another Pie KDZ to be released for your variant.
Sorry, I'm not really tech savvy lol. My software version is H93230D. I have TMobile if that matters.

You can downgrade to T-Mobile H932 Oreo 20s until better Pie comes along.

That's very odd. Are you rooted? Not rooted? That makes a difference since there are files you needed to flash.
By buggy, I assume lag? What are the issues that you see? I haven't ran into any problems other then DTS will not work with PowerAmp. USB audio pro player does work with DTS.
I face no lag, everything works as if I was on 8.0. Actually I find 9.0 is a bit better in most areas.

Edit, did you update from a TWRP zip? If so I know the issue but not what causes it. You just have to keep flashing till the TWRP zip flashes correctly. You know it flashes correctly when you see the T-Mobile boot logo and hear the T-Mobile jingle.
Not sure what you mean by rooted.
Im experiencing lag and my notifications are delayed and also messages are being received late or when I open up another app I get the same notifications/messages pop up that I've already seen. This only started happening when it updated.

Ok, you don't know what root means so I assume you are stock. No TWRP, or modified stock ROM.
I suggest a factory reset since it's a major OS version. This is just recommended by everyone.
I don't know if it's old useless information that doesn't matter anymore, ( like getting a new phone and charging it to 100% before first use for battery health) but it sure fixes any issues that have been caused.
Like a fresh upgrade for every windows update.
