Time to take picture (camera launch speed) - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Real Life Review

Extremely slow, both with the app on the original ROM and the cam2 one on Resurrection.

It is noticed that only 4Gb Version of Max Pro M1 is having restricted shutter slow shutter speed. After clicking red eye reduction for several times developer option is enabled. But in user settings of manual exposure the slowest shutter speed is only 1/3 sec (340miliseconds) whereas 3Gb and 6Gb variants are having more than 10seconds (10000 milliseconds) shutter speed. Interestingly the ISO range also 100-1550 whereas in other two variants it is 100-1600. I could not understand if my device is faulty or all 4Gb variant having same issue or it is due to the November 15th new update(.337)? Do you guys with 4Gb variant having same issue. Please throw some light. Thanks

Takes a bit more than 1 sec to open the camera using double twist gesture. 1 sec if camera app is already open.
This is fine but not as fast as S7.
I feel like using the lockscreen shortcut would be faster.
Update with this APK and the camera launch more fast:

Very very fast even with all the automatic stuff enabled. Will be nice to see how it performs as the phone gets bogged down by apps, etc.
If you use the double press volume down to launch camera and quickly press volume up to take picture it's ridiculously fast. IMO the only thing that's going to slow this phone down is slow SD cards (read/write speeds) and cache.
I bought a Sandisk Extreme PRO 64GB MicroSD card for this reason. The write speed is supposingly around 90MB/s. Either way it's expensive, but if you plan on heavy use, I'd strongly recommend that card.

Feels not as fast as some other phones but still faster than many.
One thing is sorely missed. The double tap to camera. That hampers the speed of taking a picture.
Also the opening of camera app takes its own sweet time.

There's a shortcut for camera. Double tap volume up to capture. I use it a lot.
One of the faster!!
pretty fast and no lag or wait time
its really fast i must say
No delays of any kind.

There's sometimes autofocus lag but in good light there's no shutter lag. In low light with Auto Mode there's a fair bit of shutter lag.
I seem to be getting "recording failed" when double pressing the power to launch camera while my phone is locked. (When I hit the record button)
I've been thinking about returning (not exchanging) my note 9 since I'm still within the 30 days.
Actually I get a fair bit of shutter lag in Auto mode, especially in low light. The paused image isn't actually the one captured. Maybe this is due to focusing and post-processing but there is still shutter lag with HDR turned off. It also seems to me as if the 2X lens actually has less shutter lag than the main camera, but both have a tendency to favour low ISO and shutter speed (great for scenery but poor for pets or kids). In Pro Mode there's virtually no shutter lag.
Well i got a quick workaround for shutter lag while taking quick pics at low/indoor lighting conditions
Apparently it's the autofocus speed that causes the lag for me..... instead of trying to take successive pictures while holding the camera still , move the camera slightly or just give it a quick jerk and it immediately refocuses and clicks.....was able to get same speed shots as my note 8 this way
Sorry if i wasn't able to explain myself better

ISO and Shutter Differences in different Devices of Max Pro M1

Disappointing Bug in 4Gb Variant #Asus Max Pro M1Camera Developer Mode. Hardware issue or .337 update issue?
#Asus team please notice and fix.
Which version of Max Pro M1 you guys are using? Mine is 4gb variant. I noticed a very disappointing problem in camera. First of all camera quality is below average. But then a camera developer mode is made available for Pro shooting. Now there is a bug in that restricting it's shutter speed.
There is a camera developer option hidden. My friends 3gb and 6gb models are getting long shutter speed of 10 seconds for fantastic night car tail light photos. But it is noticed that my 4Gb Version of Max Pro M1 is having restricted shutter slow shutter speed. Does your variant having same issue. Please throw some light. I have send screenshots of camera developers option->Manual Exposure>user settings of my 4Gb variant and a 3Gb variant if you like to compare.
Please #ASUS do something for getting manual control in the camera , professional mode and long shutter speeds. At least fix this bug so that I can use slower shutter speed in camera developers option. Please let us know if the camera optics or hardware is not supporting slower shutter speeds.
