Hi,
could I ask for help with finding the model number of my Mate 9? I'd like to root it but I'm unsure where to find it.
All I can see in about phone is MHA-L09.
Could I also ask for a tip for a good rooting method for the MHA-L09 8.0.0.366(C432) system?
So I figured out my model number, it's MHA-L09C432B363 (currently) and I'd like to upgrade to MHA-L09C432B366. Is there a functional root method for either of those versions?

Hello Guys,
I got a Honor 9 on Black Friday and smart as I am, immediately went on to install a custom ROM, which I didn't manage to get running. I didn't know there are so many different models and I wonder how I could identify it. I bought it from amazon Germany and it says its model no 51091SPA on my purchase receipt but I cant translate that to which model this is and which firmware I have to download.
any help is appreciated
cheers

i managed to flash a stock rom but now the buttons beside the home button dont work
You should try to flash to correct rom on your phone. But before check out the model number under -> Settings -> About the Phone -> Model number
Just a hello from a new member and some info on my phone, in case this sort of info is helpful to anyone:
Country: Australia
Phone: Nova 3e
Model: ANE-LX2J
Current build number: ANE-LX2J 8.0.0.121(C636)
Note the phone just updated earlier today with whatever incremental changes were made relative to when this was out of the box (bought it a week and a half ago from JB).
I've grabbed the unlock code from the Huawei website, just need to go through that process then will likely root the phone and maybe install an alternate bootloader. But still trying to figure out what actually will be compatible with *my* phone, as compared with all the other P20 Lite variants.
#1 request for now would be to have a solid, no-frills AOSP-based ROM to replace EMUI. Whatever I can do on to help out on that front...
Cheers
Nik
Fingers crossed OpenKirin will have a good option for this device soon :good:
dual sim firmware code
I too bought the Nova 3e from JB-hifi in Australia. However, I was disappointed to find that it did not have the dual-sim option under my settings page. Wondering if anyone knows how to interpret the firmware naming conventions to identify dual/single sim options? My model is the ANE-LX2J, country code 636, current build is 121. Love to be able to flash this to a dual sim option, without losing the correct 4G bands required in Australia. Thank you in advance for any knowledge sharing.

Hello everyone,
My phone was stolen last week in mexico city, and I baught a new one there at Walmart.
The phone (Huawei p20 lite) is issued to AT&T.
Now I'm back home (Israel) from the vacation, and when I enter my Israeli sim the phone requests a code.
I tried to contact at&t and tried using their form to request unlock but it doesnt recognize my IMEI, niether the mexican phone number.
Please help, I am able to root or install a stock rom if it will help, or any other instructions from you experts
Thanks alot
I think you need reBrand your device to your country. Look in xda in any Huawei Forum (actual Huawei-Family with OREO) for Help.
The Question is : have p20 lite for your country different Hardware (LTE-Bands ...) ?
Question 2 : have you the know how to do this ? It is not simple but it is very simple to brick the device !
Hey, thanks for your reply
The LTE frequency do match the ones in my country so that is not the issue if you are asking.
I have never done this on this phone, but if I find a guide that explains it step by step it would not be a problem.
Hi everyone:
Here is my situation.
I have a mate 10 6+128G. Device information:
Version: EMUI: 8.0.8
Firmware: ALP-AL00 8.8.8.129 (SP2C00)
Bootloader was unlock, I also root my phone, install TWRP, Magisk ... I also install Google Play, Google Service ..
Everything seems fine until I try to use Google Pay.
I got stuck when trying to register VISA credit card in Google Pay, MasterCard is fine.
I did a lot of search on China Huawei forums, and found China version of firmware got issues when register VISA credit card.
I have consulted my friends who have Mate 10, and they said they don't have such problem.
In my country, Mate 10 firmware version is ALP-L29C636, so I would like to rebrand my Mate 10 to this firmware.
But I still have some doubts regarding rebrand.
1. OEMINFO:
Should I replace my OEMINFO before rebranding ? From some post, seems it's necessary to replace OEMINFO with L29C636 version.
If I replace OEMINFO, will I lost my IMEI ?
2. After rebranding, Bootloader will be locked again. So I should use the same unlock code to unlock my Bootloader ?
3. After rebranding, I still want to root my phone. Can I follow the same method to root my phone after flashing new version of firmware ?
Thanks.

Talk to this guy: https://ministryofsolutions.com/
Its better and safer to spend some small $ and allow someone who is familiar with rebranding to do the job instead of risking and ends up in a brick. He did a rebrand on my Mate 10 from ALP-L09(C109) to ALP-L09(C432) and I can say it it's not so easy (in my opinion) so my recommendation is to contact him.
Hello, I was trying to root my Samsung galaxy a03s and I have currently encountered a problem. so, the main one is that my EXACT model is a sm-a037U and the only twrp I found is with a "F" at the end and not a "U" so because of that I either wondered if anyone had a twrp for the model with the "U" or if it would be safe to flash the twrp for the "F" model on my U model anyway?
there is no difference. except USA model is locked down. however, it's MediaTek device, so it may unlockable.

You need to unlock the boot loader first. I talked about my problem doing that in the thread that someone asks if there is any custom roms for this model. Search threads for sm-a037u custom roms or the specific post I made will have the model number along with mtkclient
