Disappeared Photos in S9+ Internal Storage - Samsung Galaxy S9+ Questions & Answers

I have some experience with Samsung phones, mainly S2, Note 4 and J5 pro and I have never face any issue like this with the new S9+
Here is the issue:
I have gotten this phone a few days right after it launched in my country (Malaysia), everything at first was working wonderfully like how it should be, until about a week ago, I realised some of my photos and videos a disappearing by themselves! Upon checking the files, I was guessing it happened for almost a month now. Those disappeared photos are the ones that were taken using the default camera app while the survived ones were taken with third party app
I have been trying to recover those lost photos and I have tried all solution that I can find on Google but non of it solve the problem. At last, I resort to engaged Samsung support and they suggest me to monitor the phone in safe mode just to see if it was caused by third party app.
Wonder if any user faces the same problem? I read that some of their older models have this problems too but it doesn't seemed to be solved. It would be wonderful if anyone can tell me ways to stop it from happening or if you have the same encounter, how do you solve it?

Never happend to me. Are you sure you didn't use Google Photos' "Free memory"-funcion?

[Q] Camera problem

Hey, new member here.
I recently aquired a HTC Aria, this is my first Android phone and It's great, only issue I found is with the camera, when I try to take pictures, the screen appears with a lot of noise color (pink areas), as per the pictures, is this related to the set up or is it a camera malfunction? The pictures taken have the same effect.
The pictures were taken a month ago- righ now the screen looks completely pink!
I'm using HTC Aria/ Android version 2.3.7/ Cyanogenmod-7.1.0.
I noticed this malfunction after downloading the Camera 360 app, tried to use it and suddenly this issue appeared.
Any support is appreciated.
Regards and thanks.
First I'd just try clearing application data for the "Camera" app to see if that makes any difference. If not, I'm not sure what else to try except doing a 100% clean install to see if the problem is with your current installation or actually a hardware issue. (Make a backup first so you can revert.)

[Q] Camera, playing music, etc

Hello.
I've had my Motorola [Electrify] for about a year now, and a few months after getting it, started having problems with the camera, playing music, and not receiving notification sounds. For the camera, I it would look as though it was starting, and then go back to the home screen with a flash saying "Camera cannot initialize." (or something to that effect.) When I would try to play music, it would stop and say "Sorry, the play does not support this type of audio format." It was MP3. And I would sometimes not receive notification sounds. I have been researching and battling this issue for months when suddenly yesterday, I read that for people whose camera wouldnt work, they went into the main settings and clear data for the camera, and the gallery. It worked. Camera worked and so did playing mp3s. Well, today it started not working again. This time I only cleared data for the gallery, and again everything worked like it should. I did root the phone several months ago, using Photon Torpedo. First, I wonder if using that method, if I may have messed something up. Anyone hear of this sort of thing? But then again, I am sure I had problems with this before I rooted. Second, I wonder if anyone knows a specific correlation between malfunctions and the gallery app. Third, would freezing the gallery app with Titanium Backup cripple functionality of the phone/media, and would it work to keep these malfunctions from happening?
Sorry for being long winded, but hoping I'm on to something here.
Thank you.
I posted that a few days ago, but in a different forum, (wrong phone forum) but now today I find out that clearing data in gallery was only a temporary fix, as today it did not work. This is the second or third time I thought I found a connection, but was wrong. Does anyone else have this problem and come up with an actual fix? For the life of me, I cannot figure out what the root cause of this problem is. Thank you.
I haven't heard of it. Have you tried a factory reset?
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda premium
Wifes photon doing exactly same thing. what apps you have installed. maybe we can narrow it down. I did a factory reset, flashed a different rom, then installed all her apps back on. worked correctly for 3 days then no notification sounds, camera wont open and can t veiw videos on facebook or youtube. reboot the phone and all is well for a few days then the problem comes back.

Delayed notifications for almost 3 years. Unable to resolve to date. Help Needed!

For almost 3 years now, around the time I purchased my Nexus 6 in December of 2014, I've had delayed notifications. I always thought it was a Nexus 6 issue but it seems I was wrong.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
Having recently purchased a Note 8, one thing I was really looking forward to was no longer having these delayed notifications. From the moment I set everything up, the issue was and is still present - even on a brand new, unmodified Note 8 purchased directly from my carrier (Telstra, Australia).
This has lead to me to look further into the issue and to finally get to the bottom of what might be causing it and hopefully, get it fixed.
From what I can tell, pretty much anything that uses Google's Cloud Messaging, which I beleive is everything from Gmail to Facebook, Google+ and many others, the notifications will be delayed. Sometimes only a few minutes, sometimes much longer.
Anything that doesn't rely on GCM works perfectly fine. For example, if I use Nine (an Exchange client app) and connect to an Exchange server, those notifications are always perfect. I'll get notified within seconds of receiving the email.
My partner, who has the exact same phone (Note 8) as well as Gmail and Facebook setup, receives notifications instantly (within seconds) and has never had the issue on previous Android devices either. So it's not a carrier issue, nor a WIFI issue, nor a phone issue. It is something directly related to my Google account.
Has anyone ever come across this issue that has been able to successfully resolve it? I've seen a couple of apps on the Play Store that apparently let you fix the issue but you need to be rooted in order for the apps to run. This is simply not an an option.
Given all testing points to something Google Account related, where would be the best place to start looking for a fix?
NOTE:
- I don't use any battery optimisation or task killer apps nor anything related. Never have.
I've come across the following information. It appears as though it may be something to do with this: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!msg/nexus/fslYqYrULto/lU2D3Qe1mugJ
Although this looks promising, it doesn't really explain why it would affect some and not others. My partner who is using the same phone with the same carrier, connected to the same WIFI networks doesn't have the issue.

I've never had this issue before, but I've had friends that ran into issues similar to the one you've explained. I'll be sure to ask them what they did to resolve them, and get back to you when I know!

Thank you!
I haven't made much progress here however, I can confirm my carrier is actually taking the time to do some thorough research themselves and ensure there is actually nothing wrong in the background.

Video playback issue

Hey everyone!
I have already posted this issue in my device specific forum (which is the S6), but for a lack of views and replies, I am trying it in the general section too.
So! I am having an issue with my S6 that involves video playback in both youtube and whatsapp, and possibly other apps that I am not yet aware of.
In the youtube app, my phone will play audio, but i only get to see a black screen.
Sometimes, this even changes to showing a picture of the first frame with no sound (or anything happening) at all.
In whatsapp I can click on a video and it opens a player, but it doesn't play anything.
Instead, like sometimes in the youtube app, all I get is a picture of the first frame with nothing happening.
However! youtube works fine in the browser (both chrome and firefox, no issues), and i can watch my whatsapp video's from the gallery as normal too. (but it is still a BIG problem!!!!)
Also! Sometimes when I restart my phone, everything will work fine for a little while (usually for 5 minutes or so) but after a while, it will just break again and goes back to the problem described above.
Lastly! I know on other (samsung) roms that contain an app and framework file called minimode, removing the 2 will cause this exact issue, but these do not seem to be present on my phone. Simply injecting them from other roms won't magically solve it either. (Although I haven't actually found specific nougat versions of these files yet...)
I am experiencing this on different versions of the Stock S6 Nougat AND Marshmallow firmwares, even after full data wipes (including wiping the internal storage).
I have not tried flashing back to Lollipop, but I don't really wanna go down from nougat anyway, so it shouldn't be relevant.
As it does work some times, I find it hard to believe this is a hardware issue...
But I am completely clueless as to what I can do to fix it.
Any help, advice or insight in this issue is much appreciated
Please help me :crying:

Question Not able to restore whatsapp local/cloud backup while using dual messenger

Bought an A52 5G SD778G 8/128 earlier I had a Samsung device that supported dual messenger I used dual Whatsapp if worked flawlessly but after moving to a new device when I tried to restore my cloud/local backup I am not able to do it. but the same works with any 3rd party apps almost tried everything at last I raised a bug to get it fixed hope Samsung gets the work done asap. is anybody facing the same issue?
Experiencing the exact same problem on the S21. Very frustrating, especially because it was working fine until recently. Someone on Samsung Members said that using a secure folder to set up WhatsApp solves the issue, but haven't tried it myself yet.
