I have rooted my device and also gave root access to shortcut master and phone info app but still it doesn't launch the menu and gives some error. Any solution?
I have the same problem, you can achieve band locking through shortcut master under app explorer, check out hidden network settings. Interestingly it has a reference for standalone 5G!
Might need to flash with a combination file to achieve full service mode. I have an S8+ running with an engineering Rom and it has 2 system apps which can achieve full service mode, the apps are called Samsung keystring and iot hidden menu. With samsung Keystring you can enter any secret code. And with iot hidden menu you just select debug menu. Was messing around with lucky patches seeing if I could modify them to work on the S9+ but no luck yet.
Hopefully someone will find a way soon. I had the same problem on another S8+ after it upgraded to Oreo, so I think it's linked to that, but don't think there is an option to have android 7 for the S9!
This looks like it's worth a try.

But bro you can change so many settings in full service mode like selecting CA combination, activating 4x4 mimo,256 qam etc. I know about hidden service menu but for me it doesn't properly lock bands for some reason so i rooted just for accessing full service mode but i get this error. That telephony command doesn't open the menu but still the broadcast value i get is 0. I want the menu so bad because i only use 4g and i can improve speeds by changing some settings but **** samsung has locked us out. Maybe if ur phone is rooted and you have that 2 apps u mentioned try placing that apps in sys/priv-app folder and try opening it or may be find another way.
I will give that a try, i want to get the full service mode working also for sure, I am hoping for an option of setting the LTE category higher 16 or 20. I was reading it could also be due to the version of supersu used as the same thing happens with the phone info app. And those app developers don't think it's there app.

Did u find any way?
Hi all,
I'm having exactly this problem now. My purpose is to use the advanced service mode to lock LTE bands and to activate the 256 QAM and MIMO 4x4 functions. I have my G965F rooted and I'm having the same problems described before executing "Phone info" and dialing directly the "2683662" code. I updated the firmware to "G965FXXS2BRI1" with the same result.
I was wondering if flashing COMBINATION ROM could help... but I'm a newbie with this things...
does anyone have any idea about how to solve it, please? At leaste, any idea to use the band lock functions?
Thank you!

I don't know if this will help, as I have an S8. It works on Pie, and I think I may have used it while on Oreo.
I was able to able to get Safestrap (via EDL exploit: Thanks jrkruse!), and edit efs/carrier/hiddenmenu (from NO to YES)
In the dialer, the only code that ended up working for me (after much searching), was *#27663368378#
All the shorter codes failed. But, type it enough, and you'll memorize it like I did.
Alternatively (to memorizing), just for kicks I just converted it to words. An applicable one is "as-modem-test"

hello
It's strange that the advanced Menu Mode is disabled ... How the samsung staff will do to repair or test phones ?

the as-modem-test thing is clever. mnemonics can and do frequently prove themselves to be handy!
If you are rooted then use "Network signal guru" it can lock band and also might help you.... As i had used to force lte band 03 as my phone takes band 40 which has low speed.

you should also make sure keystrings r enabled by changing /efs/FactoryApp/keystr from no to yes
also keep in mind keystrings r also carrier dependent.. some have kore than others and some have different ones.. its based on csc.. if u look through them u will find each carrier has a keystrings.dat file

Launched with 5.0.2. Think there are some firmware images in the firmware topic in the General forum. Should be able to downgrade, but I haven't tried it.
I don't think downgrading would work. I updated my XT1521 to Marshmallow, and then tried to roll back to 5.1.1, and the flashing failed every time I tried.

MM -> LP fails, yeah, but LP -> LP might work.
Looking at Post #3 in this topic, the TC downgraded from XT1528 5.1 to 5.0(.2) to mess around with rooting: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-e-2015/general/root-t3194165
Additionally, people have downgraded the XT1527 from 5.1 to 5.0.2 in order to restore LTE Band 12 functionality (search "downgrade"): https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/39j0qb/psa_motos_51_update_to_the_2015_moto_e_disables/

Hm, maybe. Just in case, look out for any "FAILED" messages while flashing the old firmware - if any, retry that command, or flash back to the newer firmware.
Anyone go through device protection crap? I got a xt1528 from a ebay store that has tons of phones and clean esn. I got it on friday last week and still cant get in. Isnt it just a 72 hr hold or what? Also on the verizon model the message app makes it harder for the workaround and network dialer it dont work esp when youre trying to use this phone as gsm. Not sure how long to wait for the hold though. Do i still need the previous password or email that was synced before i got this phone? I hope not or else this is a brick. Ive factory reset Friday and changed password hoping that would work. Nothing so far

"Device protection"? If it prompts you for a password on bootup even if you factory reset, then it sounds like it was locked remotely by the Android Device Manager service (original owner might have lost it or something, and remotely locked it). If that's the case, return it.
"Message app makes it harder for the workaround"? What workaround? The Verizon model has both the Hangouts message app and Verizon's Message+ app. You can choose which one you want to use.
"network dialer it dont work esp when youre trying to use this phone as gsm"? The dialer works for GSM, you just have to turn on the GSM radio. Follow the instructions in one of these topics:

Have you tried installing the Motorola PC drivers and enabling ADB in Developer Options?
As for the Japanese language input, I see it on my XT1528. It's at the very bottom of the list, right before it loops back around to Bahasa Indonesia. (日本語 Nihongo)
I can't get past setup wizard is what I'm saying. And there is no Japanese input the Google one on the keyboard that everyone refers to to get to the 10 key and privacy policy. I know the ultimate goal is to get into dev options. I've been reading. I only have winime for Japanese input for keyboard. The rest is Korean and so forth. Seems to be a newer phone maybe. Today is the 3rd day maybe by 1pm est it will work. I got the phone Fri at 1 PM and reset and changed password. How can I get adb recognized if I don't have USB debugging enabled or unknown sources for the matter. I can't look inside. Stuck at setup wizard or Google protection sign in. Hangouts don't work in shared screen

Sounds like the issue I mentioned earlier. If you can't make it past initial setup due to it asking for a Google account password, then the phone you bought has been locked by the original owner via the Android Device Manager service. The phone you bought might be lost/stolen or the seller is trying to rip you off. Unless the owner left ADB turned on, there's no way around it. Return it and get a new one.

Install Moto Device Drivers (download from Motorola).
Boot device into fastboot mode (power off, hold Vol Down, power on).
Connect phone to your computer via USB.
Open command line, go to the Minimal ADB and Fastboot folder.
fastboot.exe devices
If it shows your device, you should be able to downgrade, but I have no clue if this will get around the ADM block.
Follow the stock firmware flash instructions in the General forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/mot...e-restore-moto-e-2015-stock-firmware-t3044936
If not list or has a weird listing, you won't be able to flash anything. Return it.
Also, flashing modem does absolutely nothing in regards to getting around an ADM block.
Does anyone here have an extra or unlocked for that matter that they can sell. I have 20.00 i can send to someone honest. I use at&t so either xt1528 or unlocked and as long as not on that crazy 72 hour hold sign in crap. That is why im having this problem in the first place. Thanks PM me. Now at 4 days still cant get into my phone. Am i the only one that doesnt have google japanese input? If i had it i know how to bypass. This must be a newer phone all i have is the winime japanese keyboard and that doesnt do anything for me. Im looking for the a with the squirly line to long press i dont have that. I know the method to get to usb debugging etc and factory reset is the goal. But this thing is a brick in my opinion
Be very careful when buying this phone used I'm going on 10 days still have the Google verification on error device was last reset and synced with another account. Xt1528 does not have the bypass or Japanese input keyboard with the (a) to bypass. I've seen all the videos on this model it don't work. Maybe an earlier kernel or build of 5.0 when it first came out but not 5.1. This is just for xt1528 Android 5.1 you been warned. I have a paperweight now

I"m in the same situation where I can't bypass the account verification on the xt1528 but in my case it isn't secondhand. The owner isn't tech savvy so they asked someone to setup a google playstore account for them. So when there was problem with the phone and the screen blacked out I factory reset the phone. Everything came back but they don't know the google account that was used so now it's stuck during setup. The japanese keyboard trick doesn't work on this model cause it's not the same one in the tutorials but I was able to get to the dialpad by viewing the motorola privacy policy and following the same instruction. My issue is I can't enable the test mode to activate ADB debugging. *#*#4636#*#* doesn't work.

I got this phone from a friend who also got it from a friend and its FRP locked. I have ODIN and I have not been able to find any firmware for this device. I seen some paid for but it looks risky. Any details on that? I would take it to stores but they will do nothing except a select few that I'm not trying to venture to. Obviously this is newer OS and stuff so I think it may require a bit more than just firmware, I keep hearing about some bootfile that looks different than the .md5 file or whatever it was... any help? Ive been able to get a quick settings app on it and i can get into settings but not developer options, I can't seem to disable google play services to bypass it, no successful root apps, running android marshmallow ?????

Hi bro.
Sorry to hear about the problem. I know the hassles of getting phones from someone else. You're not to clear on your problem. I assume you cant get into settings and therefor you had to download a 3rd party quick settings app. If possible go to settings and then "About". Look for "Software Info". There tap on the build number until you see a notification stating you are now a developer. Go back to main settings screen and developer options should be listed at the bottom. In developer options there should be an option for "OEM Unlock", turn it on and tr flashing again. If this is not possible try searching the settings for "Re-Activation Lock" and turn it off. Insert your password when promted and try again. If all this is not possible or fails then try Samsung Tool Pro. I cant post the link but just google D3X Samsung Tool Pro with loader. This tool is helpful for unlocking and bypassing FRP as well as flashing firmware, recovery's etc.
Feel free to ask for help
I used Nova for a forced launched homescreen and got into the settings that isn't the hard part. The hard part is the OEM Unlock. Been trying that build number a million times hoping something would do different and no sucess. I already have ODIN and Pro Tools but even they don't have the SM-S327VL firmware to fix this. I was thinking about re-partitioning it with odin... I know it's risky but if I brick it I would have to wait for the firmware anyway?. I cant flash a thing without any firmware. So far I haven't been able to find it on the samsung website or any others. I seen some that wanted money for them but I don't trust it. Can anyone confirm any? HhEeLlPp???
Finally disabled all google apps but I can't get rid of Knox
Frp bypass
I unlocked my phone on my own. I used an app called Test DCP and it became a device owner and then I restarted my phone and it was done. Good app????

Hi!
New here, hope I am in the right place...I have limited tech skills (born pre cell phones and computers) I did manage to install a custom ROM on an old HTC years ago, and thought I could do it again!
I have a Samsung A10e (SM-A102U) locked to sprint.
I can get the developer options but can't get the OEM unlock option. I also can't wait 7 days. Have tried a few things with the date and turning off updates etc, nothing worked. Here is what I am trying to do in order (please correct me if it is the wrong order) Ultimately I want my phone unlocked for use with any sim, and install a custom rom, to remove some bloatware. Could I wipe the phone totally take it to a piece of memory with no ROM and then re-load it, or use ADB to do it? Please excuse my ignorance - if I sound clueless I kinda am!
1. Unlock the bootloader
2. Install TWRP
3. Install custom ROM
It has taken me days of searching but to no avail, literally pulling my hair out. Happy to buy a beer for anyone that helps!
Wow,thanks...
Response has been overwhelming...

I have the exact same question.
it will not happen alot of us based carriers will lock down the phone via bootloader our best option is to find combination firmware and hopefully find root that way assuming that method still works.
Same situation here with Verizon. And sorry to tell you but I don't think anything will happen for you after seven days either, at least nothing did for me. I've spent a long time trying to get past this with no success, trying every trick I've found (the changing the date manually trick, factory resetting and trying on WiFi, etc.).
Also, using the app "Settings Database Editor," I've found the config/property where OEM bootloader unlock has been disabled:
"sys.oem_unlock_allowed" "0"
Screenshot here.
I'm hoping maybe we can edit that property via ADB or something. I'm not really holding out any hope here though. :-/
One other random discovery (not really helpful or relevant for our OEM bootloader unlock goal, but something I discovered while trying to obtain unlock): I believe I discovered a firmware error (at least on the Verizon build). When you hold volume up + power together for about 30 seconds, the phone shows the recovery menu for a split second but then instantly/immediately wipes all data and factory resets, without ever allowing the user to choose their own recovery menu selection and without giving any reset confirmation prompt before instantly wiping all user data. It's not supposed to work that way, according to the phone's user manual/Samsung technical support instruction. It's actually really pissed me off because I've triggered this instant reset twice now by accident just by having the phone in my back pocket and sitting down. I go to pick up my phone from my pocket and notice the screen is on and then discover everything was wiped. Very annoying! I called Samsung customer support twice to try to explain that I believe there to be a firmware error present (at least on Verizon models) but they didn't seem to care/their support script told them to have me take the device to some local authorized third-party screen repair place. One good outcome I've discovered from factory resetting the phone is that you can at least avoid enrolling the phone in part of the Knox security crap, the "kme" protection. I originally couldn't use remote apps like TeamViewer or AnyDesk without some stupid "Protected by Knox" notification popping up and then my remote app instantly exiting. Made me so angry. But now I'm able to use those apps without any issue. Though, the phone does try to have me agree to enroll in kme protection or whatever about once a day and I have to manually close the enrollment agreement form that pops up.

I've had the same issue with entire A series. All OEM's are disabled regardless of carrier. It seems to be part of Samsung's firmware. After nothing but dead ends and contacting samsung directly i was left scratching my head. Came here searching for some insights I may have overlooked.
-Enable developer options
-Enable wifi
-Join a network
-Change date to 10 days forward
-Reboot phone
-OEM unlock will be available
Thank me later

Nothing happens/doesn't work for Verizon. :-/
I mentioned having tried this technique already in my previous post above.

For what it's worth, here's a sister thread I started on this topic with a few responses/potential bootloader unlock ideas shared by other members but no real solid progress made at this point:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-a10/help/samsung-galaxy-a10e-to-t3990817/page4
the bl is not unlockable
Bump
I know this is possible I've seen it done before. I think it had to do with a modified ota update.

Do you have proof of this being done?
Because as far as I'm aware, it's been impossible to unlock bootloader for years
I actually purchased this phone from Metro last week after searching for it on XDA and seeing that is was BL unlockable. I didn't realize any the time that this was only the international variants. Good luck to all devs whose skillset is better than my own.

you cant root without exploits that dknt exist without unlocking the bootloader
No matter about root. but I converted many of Samsung A10e to international variant to remove any boost metropcs or any other networks bloatware application.
you can also do it without any issue. Simply flash A102U1 Firmware. I m not sure that it will work on Network Locked/Sim locked devices. I flash and convert it after using a remote unlocking service which already changed the CSC version of EFS to XAA from the BST csc...
XAA is for US Unlocked Without carrier locked phones and BST for Boost mobile carrier only which came with lots of boost bloatwares but maybe that A10e boost remote unlock service saved me.
check the screenshot attached.

Careful, don't post your IMEI on the internet as some bad people can do stuff with it
Hi!
I recently purchased a Verizon-build Samsung Galaxy A10e (the "economy Flagship" / little-brother of the A10) but XDA has very little information on this phone. Would this be the best place to try to find/request information?
Thanks for your help!
where can i get more developer information on this phone
Give it some time before developers start posting, since the phone was released only a couple of monthes ago. It will be a good minute before you start seeing significant posts for the galaxy a10 e. Keep updating by searching on a regular basis. Check howardforums or android central as well.
On another note:
Some of us need to know the a10e galaxy update to android 10, anyone got then lastest news on that yet? I got one with metro pcs.
Thx
Sent from my SM-A102U using Tapatalk
yea like alot of sites keep saying galaxy a10e will not be getting android 10 and one ui 2.0 but the fail to see samsung own site says they will probavly in may or june of 2020
Also using an SM-A102U device, I believe the official Android 10 date is sometime in the first half of 2020. I believe March.
What would really help us is pHH-Treble support for these devices and Android 10, which I can't find any info for, aside from a GSI post on the Galaxy a20, which has (essentially) the same Exynos chip.

i dont kno wat that is but seems to be a indicator for your charger.. maybe not fast charging or something.. i assume the device is off when you get this screen.. if its off and plugged in via pc it could simply be indicating its not fast charging as its being charged from the usb port.

It's not off exactly. Kinda reminds me of system crash on eng fac roms. I've seen articles about older devices and it meaning no battery or no charging like you say. Guess I got over excited for nothing lol. Though it might be a hackable situation etc or different mode of some kind.

Yea.. and fyi, a common misconception is "eng fac" roms are two completely different things lol.. it's a pet peeve of mine which I owe to all the firmware sites and generic "guides" on the web lol.
They always refer to factory/combo roms as "eng" when they are not eng at all.. fac roms are debuggable (ro.debuggable=1) and permissive and adb enabled by default and dmv disabled with a bare bone os mainly used for testing or fixing issues with the device.
Eng on the other hand is typically a stockish build with su binary by default (allows actual adb root shell) is permissive, verity disabled, contains other high level engineering software etc etc that is supposed to be used by engineers to test their software and things of that nature. My sampwnd root for s8/s8+ for example used eng system.img to gain root. Older devices did have eng boot.img many used to root devices but since s8 and newer they are no longer used because samsung implemented security measures to where u cant flash or run them without an eng token and device being in actual eng mode. Eng tokens are hard to find as they are device specific and need to be generated on samsung servers at which if u can find someone willing to make one they are usually expensive since they need to have a legit business, purchase a signing cert from samsung to be able to generate eng tokens as well as they typically need to also pay for each individual token which just the signing cert alone I've heard various prices from thousands to 100k lol. Then after all that if you have an eng token and device is in eng mode then it's not the same as a bl unlock as you would need to flash eng firmware which is another adventure to locate and probably another pretty penny.
Rant on eng/fac differences is over lmao.
On a side note, I'm working on something that "might" work... according to my dev buddies it will work.. it's a process tho as I need to generate some custom files and I never did this before (I mainly use usa locked snaps) .. but if all goes as planned with some trickery could probably unlock the bl and at the very least root the device.. stay tuned lol

I also tried (with my limited knowledge here) to enable OEM bootloader unlock by changing the settings flag in the phone but have not had luck. I talk about what I tried to do/have a screenshot showing where the system has it looked in this post:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...rint-oem-lock-developer-t3963898/post80909957
I have also looked at using Tasker/other tools to try to change something here or to see if there's an intent or action or something that will trigger the unlock but haven't had luck.
timba123 said:
So since this is the only A10e root thread. I'll post here. After browsing the internet I found out that Samsung changed some security. Now fac combo cant be flashed with 3.14 odin which newer devices like our A10e will not work with odin 3.13 and before patched or not. A new odin needs to be made. Patched. And the new Security for samsung.
Click to collapse
This isnt new information. I do not think a new/patched odin will work since it uses a token system. Trying to flash will say you need approval to use factory binary.
With that being said you can use a factory bin token which will then allow you to flash combo rom.
There are ways to bypass need for a token but they are not public.
Also tokens are device specific and if you can find someone to get them they are not free.
Side question that's not totally related but I'm finding conflicting answers online:
Does the A10e NOT have USB-OTG capabilities? :-/
I don't have a USB-C OTG cable to test myself. I realize this phone purposely does not have some features/capabilities that I guess are supposedly deemed more "premium," in order to keep this phone in a class I've heard described as "Economy-Flagship," (lol ). Hence: no wireless charging, no fingerprint reader, no gyroscope, no proximity sensor (this exclusion is kind of annoying - surely I can't be the only person experiencing the annoying phenomenon of chronic cheekbone-call-muting? ). But overall, I'm super happy with this phone!
I also wish I could disable Knox but I don't think that's possible without the OEM bootloader unlock setting enabled.

Sorry for my english. I'm looking for help ... i was 3 weeks in US and i lost my phone. So i buyed this A10e with boost mobile but i didn't activate it because they were trying to force me to buy a monthly subscription, wich i didn't... I bring the phone just for wifi use because is a phone with good specs for the price of 90$... and then the horror shows in a form of Harassing message ... trying to make me "accept terms and conditions" and then Boom the phone was restricted from data usage and other things, i tried to unlock the OEM and nothing, also i wipe the phone and it works fine but it keeps harassing with sudden appears of that screen asking if you accept, the icon of that screen is a peace of chess. So my question is ... Can i force an instalation of other rom? in sammobile is a international rom, so, even if i can't unlock the oem , can i install it? is there a way to root the device without the oem unlock? Thanks in advance

how do you expect people to flash it without a factory binary token?
timba123 said:
Is OTP similar or related to the factory token? Like a password?

nope.. otp more of a one time password.. the token is something that uses device specific identifiers that then gets sent to a server where it gets signed and sent back.. then it needs to b physically flashed to the device

Yeah but manipulations are impossible. Like, if you're looking to use pdc tool to flash mbn files , just quit now.

Volte has to be allowed by your carrier first. I had a first gen pixel and my carrier didn't support it for vllte. Contacted them and they pushed he settings from their end. I had to do some manipulation to trigger the proper mbn file and it ended up working.
However that was when debugging aosp vendor image from Google allowed diag mode . They don't now.
So short answer is no for enabling volte. In regards to the other stuff, I wanna say no as ell.
Imei spoofing might be an option
Meid, no idea
You can do the mods via magisk, but VoLTE must first be allowed by your carrier.
help
imei spoofing possible with that? because i'm in a country where the phone gets blocked by the imei, and i want to rewrite one. Yes it isn't legal but no other option instead of wasting my phone.

for your information pal, i want to fix my imei which is showing something 0044 instead of my original one and there is no carrier detection as well. LOL
Also, i'm able to get detected in qpst via modem port and made a backup of qcn file and even to restore it as well but it says read-only memory and no changes were made. LOL
pixel 3 diag port enable is ok but when u re lock bootloader or factory reset every change made on qcn or qxdm will revert

Make sure none of them are set to Deny or None.
