Hello. I ordered an android tablet recently on Craigslist. To make a long story short, there is a program limiting mostly anything and everything. Through various loopholes however, in a very roundabout way i can access the play store and download apps, however my goal is to factory reset the tablet and i haven't been successful. I seem to be at a wall and i can really use your guys's help
Things i tried:
-The standard factory reset with power button an volume keys, doesn't work
-Rooting the tablet, unsuccessful because the administrator blocks usb debugging
-Downloading programs from a browser to root, doesn't work because i can't allow unknown downloads
-Random apps that factory resets device, tablet just ignores
Does anyone know of any other ways i can unlock this tablet? Thanks guys

I've been battling this issue for a few hours now being my resourceful self scavenging the web for information and ideas to try. However I am reaching a roadblock on this issue so I'm hoping somebody here is able to help me out.
My friend dropped off a tablet for me to look at today. He said that it did something during an update and wouldn't work normal again afterwards. The tablet boots up normally but is missing lots of basic functionality (Keyboard, settings crashes on some tasks, cant add a google account, play store..ect) The tablet was rooted but doesn't seem to get root privileges now. Strange thing when i hold the volume down it comes up into "factory Mode" I don't believe this is what is suppose to happen because all the videos i watch goes into fastboot/recovery mode.
To save you some time...Things that i have tried:
-Reset to factory Settings
-Clear eMMC via Factory Mode
-Tried a few programs(nexus toolkit,Skipsoft Toolkit) I could do any ADB tasks but anything that it needs to boot to fastboot for it fails, which really limits what i can do with these tools.
-Installed Google Keyboard via ADB command on PC Win7/8, Installed Terminal trying to disable Factory Mode and Enable User Mode however unable to do this without Root Privileges.
One last thing i have yet to try waiting until the 28th to get my hands on another identical tablet. Was going to try to make an android backup file and then restore it with the non-working tablet. Not sure if this would do anything but figured it might be worth a shot.
Sorry for the long post but wanted to explain the situation correctly. I will post pictures with the detail on the tablet. This is my first post on here so hopefully my explanations are clear enough!
Hi I probably shouldn't have done this but I did so it's too late. Now I need to see if anyone has any ideas for fixing it.
I rooted my old Nobis 7" tablet using Kingo Root from the PC. The root was apparently successful since I could delete apps (all I killed was the Amazon store) but now the tablet won't remember it's setup info (like wi-fi, google account, etc.). Powering off is like a factory reset.
Any thoughts on how to possibly fix this? I've booted to recovery, done a factory reset but nothing.
the phone is a Homtom Zoji z6 which so far seems to not have many root'ing options available and I have been trying to root it but failed and quit trying so I reinstalled the original rom, which is not a backup or anything, just a rom from the homtom website which should work fine
the main problems are:
- unrooted phone with no custom bootloader installed which means no cache or dalvik reset
- phone just got a fresh installed rom and no usb debugging or oem unlocked, therefore stuck on the launguage select menu of android's first time boot
- unresponsive touchscreen, cannot use touchscreen at all (not sure about home, return and option buttons as I don't think that they do anything at the language select screen)
- non removable battery, removable by unscrewing the phone and removing back cover though at least 3 sensors can be seen inside which may be the most likely reason for the unresponsive touchscreen
- otg to usb female adapter unavailable (been trying to ask friends and find a place to buy one but so far no luck besides buying online which would take more time that I would like to spend on this)
- chinese factory menu (fml), also! ...got into this menu a few times but it doesn't seem to be working anymore, no idea why
- I want my phone back, dammit!
been trying to find some kind of software for pc that could redirect a usb mouse to android without root but apparently there is none or I'm looking in the wrong places
already tried to use the touchscreen calibration from the chinese factory menu but don't think it's detecting at all, factory reset doesn't work either
I'm all ears to suggestions
Hello all,
I recently rooted an old Samsung Stratosphere in an attempt to turn it into a mobile Kali device, and after rooting it using a custom ROM ("root zImage" that I found via googling and a forum post on rootzwiki) and then performing a factory reset, I now have no wifi or BT, and no MAC address. Attempting to connect to my wireless network results in the phone starting wifi, attempting to scan for a few seconds, then returning an error message of "unable to scan" and turning the wireless radio back off. Also, now the phone tries to activate every time I turn it on. I can bypass the activation by enabling soft keys (I googled that also), but how can I disable the auto-activation?
I installed CWM recovery and did a factory reset, no change. I removed the SIM card (I even tried a different one from another one of these phones I had laying around with a broken screen), no change. Why would the MAC address disappear? Isn't the MAC address tied to the actual hardware?
It's a shame that this perfectly good hardware is so difficult to re-purpose to use as something else. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I am willing to learn Android development in order to figure this out, but I'm really not sure where to start, and I expect this will take some time to get to a point where I can develop my own ROMs and apps. I have downloaded the Android Studio; where should I start? Thanks.
Hello to all,
i have an xperia z3 compact and i left it out of use for a while due to broken screen, i finally changed the screen but realised that i have forgotten the lock pattern.
Any way to unlock it without losing my data in the internal memory?
If it helps and if i remember correctly,
1) i had usb debugging and developer options enabled
2) i haven't rooted it (for sure).
3) phone has kept the credentials for my wifi, gmail, etc, so it's connected when i turn it on (and of course i have those credentials).
4) it probably has android 6 (marshmallow) installed.
5) i tried with "find my device" from google, and while it sees my phone, it says "Find My Device is turned off" so the option for locking it anew is greyed out and i can't access it, so this method doesn't work.
Any ideas? is it possible to bypass the pattern and get inside to get my stuff and apps?
thank you to anyone reading this and wanting to help me out.
I don't think that's quite possible. The few ways to bypass the lock have pretty much disappeared with recent Android versions.
Best of luck!
thank you, i'm so frustrated. At first i wanted to save my data and bypass the pattern, now i just want to be able to use my phone again even if i lose the data and i can't even do that!
There is no hard reset for this model!
I just can't believe that there isn't any way possible to get back your phone if you forgot your pattern!
no way to have recovery or TWRP in a locked phone with usb debugging on?
no way to push adb commands?
There should be something for situations like that
