DCD ROM and Activesync

Hi All,
I hope someone can help
I have run DCD 3.1.6 3.2.3 and 3.2.5 in the last week and on each one via USB and Direct push when synchronizing my folders it seems to hang on email saying
Synchonization Failed. There is not enough free memory on your device to synchronize information. Delete unused files from your device or close programs that are running to free up memory.
I notice in task manager that memory usage for activesync is aout 100%
I have other phones that work well with my Exchange Server so dont believe that is the problem and I rebooted the server.
If someone can help or needs more information about the problem, please let me know but I NEED to resolve this.
Thanks again in advance.
Just an FYI, I do IT network administration for a living and haven't seen this one before. I have done plenty of research before coming here.
Just an FYI but I limited this problem down to one folder that I am synchronizing. I have like 40 folders all synchonized by selecting them in manage folders in tools menu but when I select this one folder direct push hangs retrieving email.
Any thoughts?

[Q] Refresh?

I have a weird issue with my Echo phone.
I used FileExpert to transfer few jpeg images yesterday. The images did not show up in the gallery.
I restarted the phone and I could see the transferred photos under Gallery.
Same for music. I copied over some music (mp3 files). I went to the stock app (Music) and they did not show up. However, When I restarted the phone, the files showed up immediately.
I am wondering whether this is a regular phenomenon? Is there a way to refresh the stock gallery / music to ensure that the files reflect immediately? Or should i transfer files in a different way?
I am using Kyocera Echo, Gingerbread (2.3.4).
Any help is appreciated.
hmm, is odd, but if you go into setting and memory settings, then unmount and re-mount the sd card, and let the phone scan, then they should show up hope this helps
You need to force a media rescan after adding new media files. Both rebooting the phone and un/remounting the sd card will do it. There are also a bunch of apps on the market that will also do it.
Do you have Dev Tools app?
Dev Tools -> Media Scanner

I think it comes with CM7 so I'm not sure if it will work if you don't have CM, but this post seemed to have success. (and a download link - Development.apk = Dev Tools)

[Q] Problem with Music Hub.

Hello. I would like to ask for some help with my HTC Mozart 7 phone please.
Recently I have tried the "Wp7UsbStorageEnabler" tool and while testing it out, I deleted every empty folder I found within my phone.
After that, all the music I transfer through zune to my phone has no artist information. The artists show up on the zune collection but not on my phone.
For example I should have 16 artists on my phone I can only see one named "unknown".
I have tried resetting the phone and restoring even backups from many months before but the problem is still there. I have even formatted the disk through windows 7 while using the tool mentioned above but zune only creates the folder for the music when I synchronize music!
Is there a way to fix this please? Like manually creating the folder structure if this is the problem?
I am using the latest version 7.5 from the original operator (O2 UK).
I mean the phone is not unlocked/rooted...
Thank you in advance.
Problem solved!
It has nothing to do with the device. It is Zune. If you do not have an album name for the song, then it puts a name like: Unknown Album + Date. What I did is rename all songs with this behaviour with the same name for album like: Unknown.
It worked. That also means that the folder structure has nothing to do with it.
I am writing this solution for a future reference.

[Q] Share media (files) between users in Android 4.2

Hello Everybody,
I'm wondering anyone figured out already how to share media between users in Android 4.2.2 (Nexus 10)? I mean sharing a large number of photos and movies, something without online connection (no dropbox/drive). A solution without duplicating the files in each account is highly preferred.
I know /sdcard/Android/obb folder is shared, I used it to transfer large files between the accounts. But it is not recognized by Media Scanner / Gallery. Links are not working for me (I tried both - symbolic and hard link, ln -s reports Function not implemented, ln alone Operation not permitted. Not mentioning that root shell doesn't see the content of obb (strange)). Folder sync seems not to work either (even though it states 4.2.2 is supported).
TIA
The same issue in KitKat obviously... Still without a solution
I found a solution.
Use the android/obb folder since it is shared space. I added a Movies folder there can can access it from multiple locations. For MX player to see the movie files I had to uncheck the recognize no media option under settings but it works.

Google Photos & Image Files

Hello All,
When I browse my WhatsApp Image folder through google photos I see 57 photos but when I connect the phone to the computer and browse the folder, I see 80+ images.
I tried restarting the phone several times in case it was a scanning media issue. I have even checked if there was a noMedia file and I don't get what the issue is
Any suggestions ?
Thanks,
Pete
