Hello - I just got the Honor 9, updated and so running Android 8.0.0 and Emui 8.0.0.
I have set up my Google accounts fine - working on email, calendar, play store, drive, assistant etc; but not on Chrome or Google Home. Every time I try and set up the app it clearly looks for an account, then defaults to asking me to log in; when I type in my google email address it comes up with an error saying the account is already set up on my phone so i can't progress beyond that.
I did have to download the apps from play store, rather than them coming as loaded so not sure if that's an issue (but same was true for assistant and that is working fine).
Any suggestions much appreciated!
Thanks
Looks like a bug with the latest Google Play Update. Issues were already opened with the Google ticket system. It seems that only Huawei und Honor devices are affected. Seems to be an issue with the credentials towards the maps FBI period. Google cannot reproduce it at the moment. They are still investigating.

I had the same issue and was driving me nuts. Backed up everything and just factory reset. Everything is good now

Did not work for me.
I deleted cache and data again. Previously it did not work. Now it is working for me. But did not reboot yet. But that would be my workaround for now. But maybe Google fixed some issues on their API side of things.

Error 403
I have the same problem with only one free app. All paid apps will get the update without problems, but for this one free app the update will not work.
It is the same with Wifi and with mobile net.
I had that problem too after flashing 2 roms and restoring all my apps twice within a short amount of time. I think there is some kind of limit on how much you can download from the market in a certain time period. If you go over that limit I think Google bans you from downloading for 24 hours. For me it went away in a day.

That may be, but I don't think it's the cause of this issue. I haven't been downloading much and I have the 403 error on one app I've been trying to update. In addition, I have been able to update other apps during the two days this issue has been going on.
Having this problem aswell. Cannot download apps I paid for...
same issue here as well...
trying to get root explorer on my touchpad and its giving me an 403 error... same thing on my nexus... couldnt download it... has to restore it from a backup...
anyone got any news on this issue?
Ironically, cause I'm using it, I had this problem with buying tapatalk.
It said it was bought but I couldn't download it. Couldn't be asked to complain... 1week later I got an email saying payment unsuccessful and that I had been refunded. Bought the app again and wallah it worked.
From my experience, just wait.

1. Clear data and cache
2. Clear Proxy on APN (its work for me)
3. Change Google Play Account*
4. Uninstall Update*

Hey guys, sorry for digging up an old topic but I am stuck with the same problem - Unable to download app due to an error (403)
This applies to previously purchased apps on a previous phone.
I tried:
- Clearing data and cache for Play Store - didn't work
- Clearing data and cache for Google Services Framework - didn't work
- Uninstalling updates for Play Store and updating all over again - didn't work
- Selecting account in Play Store settings - didn't work
- Downloading the same app from the website, so it will send it to my phone - same error ON THE WEBSITE (so it is not a network/wifi/3g/proxy problem) - didn't work
Meanwhile:
- Updating other apps - works
- Downloading free apps - works
- Purchasing another app - works
What could be the issue here guys, I'm frustrated as hell

Not working for me. Other ideas?
On my chinaphone MT6589, I had to get the update to Google Play. The version installed on the telephone gave a 403 error. When Google Play updated, the updated version worked fine. The play shortcut (top right of screen in the apps) still pointed to the original version and gave 403 errors until I uninstalled it (rooted phone).
Hi Guys
I'm getting the attached error whenever I try to open Google Playstore from my cell.
I'm on Poland LIB firmware.
Things I've tried :
1) clear cache and data
2) Uninstalled updates
3) installed the latest update of Playstore
4) added a new Id (same error)
5) remove and add the previous Id
Gmail is working fine but playstore is giving me this trouble from past 12 hours.
I can log in to play.google.com without any issues.
Currently I'm accessing it through Mobile Data and have no other connection to check this if it's a connection issue or Playstore issue.
I've done no changes to anything and it was working perfectly fine till yesterday evening.
It started giving me this error all of a sudden
Help please.

Have you tried opening the google play, push the options button (the left one) and go to account? Is there any account added? If not, add your account.
PS. No need for bumps or nobody will help you next time...

I am currently suffering from this same problem. Tried everything you have. Even cleaned data/cache then disabled google play store and rebooted phone. Re-enabled play store, tried to open it... stuck loading. Recleared everything, installed google play from apk, reopen. Still stuck loading after re-entering all information. I have had different apps stop working and had to uninstall them. Reinstalling worked on other apps but when it's playstore system apps turn to fail, can't uninstall fully.
I'm rooted so I uninstalled google play with android tuner app i have bought a while ago. I rebooted the phone and did get LG security error. Sadly when google play was reinstalled, this has not fixed the problem. I am doing a factory reset. Using titanium backup and a external sd card, so restoring my apps wont be too tedious. I feel bad if anyone else encounters this problem. I still don't know how it happen.

The specifics may vary, but some general pointers to get the playstore working correctly:
1- first force stop the app when clearing cache and data, , and also do it for google play services and google services framework. Reboot with mobile data and wifi off, turn wifi or data on, then try to open playstore again.
2- repeat step 1, but also remove and add again your google account from settings before opening the playstore.
Make sure you're not using firewall apps or ad blocking apps to reestrict data on google play services, once playstore is up and running you can enable them again.
Make sure you're not using autostart managers or apps like greenify on playstore, google play services, or google services framework. You can apply them again afterwards.
Good luck.
QUICK AND DEFINITELY WORKING FIX: Just clear Google Play data and reboot. Then change your Google login password and let the device ask for new password.
Force sync and all will be back to normal....

Had the same problem today for a friend's Samsung Note 2.
This worked for me. Thanks.

This module hooks into GMS and always returns SUCCESS for Google Play Services connection, thus some applications will not show the annoying error dialog that asks for it. There is a module which does almost the same thing but this module is more stable as I deal with shrinked classes and hook more reliable methods.
Note that this application cannot replace GMS, so the applications may not work normally because we just do a little trick. Also, some GAPPS use standalone methods which are not standard for detecting GMS, so it is harder to workaround them.
I am a student majoring in finance and I am a beginner at developing applications. If you have any problems, feel free to contact me.

I have debloated so many apps and google apps and that triggered Google Play Services to consume battery (i dnt knw whic one). Around 1 mAh every 2 minutes, and GP services always on the top of my battery drainer (look at battery detail). Every method possible i've tried and none of them work, even after clear data/cache of it and remove my gmail from my phone...seriously every method on the internet i guess .
using this module and turn off background data of GP services, problem solved.
after activating it i will not be able to Gmail or Keep or any Google aplications ???????
if there is an exception plz list it
Not working for me atm... Is Android Nougat supported at all?
My phone:
Moto G (falcon) / LineageOS 14.1 / Xposed v88.1
I'm trying to hide this annoying alert when I open the Twitch app:
https://i.imgur.com/W1Ylq9t.png
Closing the alert does not make the app itself shutdown, and from what I tested, most features (if not all of them) still work perfectly.
Just use mircoG. It's much better!

Many thanks for this module. Happy to report that it works in LineageOS 15.1 (oreo)!
Doesn't working on LineageOS 14.1 i am getting won't run without Google Play services, which are not supported by your device error
Hi
Anyone can make a similar app for Android that doesn't require Xposed to block the annoying notifications of 'This app requires Google Play Services to work'?
Anyone got this yet

According to this:
https://www.xda-developers.com/google-assistant-now-available-for-all-android-6-0-devices/
Yes, but not worldwide yet...
I just tried updating my play services from 10.2.98 to the newest non beta on apkmirror which is 10.2.99 but assistant is not enabled. I then tried the latest beta which is 10.5.37 but still no assistant. I just got the Google app update to 6.13.x earlier via play store so I figured all I needed was play services but apparently not unless root is causing an issue.

I'm not rooted and updated play services and the Google app and also still have no assistant. So, apparently it is a server side switch that we all just need to wait for. Of course I still don't have the dual tab google app layout, so I'm not holding my breath.

That dual tab Google app layout is still a thing? I never got it either and just assumed it was pulled. So for assistant, the Google blog says it's a play services update, naturally that means something else like a server side update too. Silly Google, tricks are for kids.
I have a 6P and 5x both on 7.1.2 beta, no Google Assistant. I have a hunch that apart from having to have the new Google Play Services, that individual accounts have to have the switch thrown on it by Google. Like many of Google's software updates this is liable to take weeks for everyone to see.
I have a 6P, 5X and a 5. Yesterday in an effort to solve another problem, I had clean installed factory 6.0, 7.0, 7.1.1 and 7.1.2(beta) with locked bootloaders and completely stock onto my 6P. None of the phones and none of the factory ROMs had Google Assistant enabled even after updating all stock apps. WTF, Google, after your big announcement that it was available? Aside from the one person in this thread, I haven't heard of anyone having this enabled, even read through over 400 comments in Android Police thread.
Still have not received it. Running stock 7.1.1.

It's a server side switch, so we all have to just wait until google flips the switch.
Here's how I did it:
I enrolled with ALL the permissions with the Google (Google Now) app; i.e., News and weather updates.
Then, I downloaded and enrolled with Google Allo. I gave it ALL of the permissions it requested of me. Then I made a few queries with Allo's Google Assistant bot.
It's important that you turn Location and Search histories ON.
I was greeted by Google Assistant shortly thereafter...
Hope this helps!

Hey guys!
I just got Google Assistant on my Galaxy A5 2017 without doing anything here in Germany ☺
My phone is on latest firmware and my Google App is on version 7.6.17.21.arm64
How about you? Do you already have Google Assistant on your Phone?

All I did was clear my Google Settings cache, applied for the beta program on Google and Google Play Services, and I was accepted and had the Assistant within minutes.
For me I still do not have Google assistant, I'm in France
Same and im in Holland. No assistant
I'm in Canada and I got Google Assistant but I gotta say, I wish I didn't. I can no longer press my home button and have Google Now popup, only Assistant and it's much less useful than Google Now imo. Wish there was a way to go back as I've tried all the ways recommended via a simple Google search. ?

I have Google Assistant after just clearing the cache. Only problem is with "OK GOOGLE" detection, it doesn't work when the screen is off. Does it work for you?
