Hi,
I am trying to remove the google search bar from the home page. On 14.1 you could do it by holding on the screen and then settings and disable the google search bar. But i am unable to it anywhere on the 15.1 version of the rom. Also camera crashes. Any help would be appreciated. I am not worried about camera much as i can use 3rd party camera apps.
15.1 lineage os latest build date 15.05.2018.
Le max 2 4 gb variant
official oreo 8.1 stock gapps and running google pixel launcher.

Heyyo, stock Gapps is NOT recommended on Oreo ROMs. MindTheGapps or OpenGapps pico or nano are the only recommended ones which is probably why camera app is crashing. OpenGapps is only of beta quality thus I only recommended pico or nano and I'd still recommend MindTheGapps over it as it is built with LineageOS compatibility in mind.
As for pixel launcher? Sorry I'm unsure if you can disable it unless you download a custom pixel launcher.

As I like Pixel Launcher, afrer recent Google app update, it even includes Google search bar on app drawer, which is pretty annoying.
If you don't want it, you need to use other launcher

I am trying to find the perfect ROM but google is not helping. Here is what I need:
1. AOSP (no touchwiz or Tmobile/Samsung bloatware, excepting S-pen apps).
2. Keeps S-pen support intact.
3. Allows use of Magisk instead of SU for systemless root and hide (no lectures please - I LOVE Magisk).
4. Nougat at least 7.1.1, preferably 7.1.2.
5. Works on N920T.
Thanks.
Wrong forum kiddo
You made me hope for nothing. I thought someone was starting to develop an AOSP ROM with S-Pen support ... Thanks for using the forum better, posting your topics in the right sections.
Thanks.

Sorry, you are correct, I will re-post in "Q&A..."
It's impossible due to the need to replicate all TouchWiz behavior and create an alternative SDK (software development kit) which uses same method names and package_names of the Official SPen SDK to let the current SPen 3rd/official Apps working as expected.
After this a deep interaction is required between this component(s) and the System (i.e.: hovering a button needs a hint to be shown and then change the cursor) and it's very complex.
What you're looking for could take many months of work for a quite-big development team and no one can effort it.
Sorry.
Ekhm... There is no TouchWiz in Nougat ROMs. There is Samsung Experience
I'm curious why afraid of Samsung original UI?
Did your tried out?
You can always use Nova Launcher and mimic to almoar to perfection AOSP looks and feels.
I recommend to use Khongloi ROM for n920t. Use version 11 instead of Final. I don't have any issues with it.
Also using Magisk.

I am using Apex launcher, but that doesn't change things like the settings menus. I much prefer the LineageOS nougat ROM on my Nexus to the stock Samsung. Although an unofficial build of LineageOS exists for the Note 5, it has issues... I will check out Khongloi, thanks.

Assistant on Pixel Experience
I am also facing the same problem. But I flashed stock Gapps. I guess flashing stock Gapps is the reason.
Guys?
Any updates?
The assistant is there, but can't be activated with long pressing home button for some reason
I have a Poco F1 device with Lineage 16.0 OS with the OpenGApps ARM 64 -> micro. I tried a lot of GoogleCamera APKs and none are working for my device. It is lagging when I just open the app, the only version which works for me "well" is the "LGN2_MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V1d.apk" and "LGW2_MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V1d.apk" BUT the Night Sight function is not working as well... it is bugging for only opening the function. I tried to fix it with the Magisk Mask "Night Lib Fix for Mi8 Google Camera" but nothing changes. Can someone help me or has the same problem?
Have you tried searching or looking for BSG Mod Google Cam here in F1 forum itself?

yeah of course, I actually tried every APK on celsoazevedo.com and none of the GCam over 6.0 are working for me with 100% function
I use this Version https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78728269&postcount=3021 with Lineage, pico gapps and latest Firmware without any lags
I am not responsible for bricked devices, or any other hardware malfunctions that comes as a result of flashing this ROM,
Please do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM before flashing it

Thanks for providing a different build for the SM-T350.
Two bugs so far after some quick testing.
1. Like evervolv, I can't load Clash Royale as it says device not compatible. I can't see Clash of Clans in playstore either. This is not surprising if you are using evervolv as base code.
2. The recent button, doesn't bring up all the open apps. Hitting the button takes me to the home screen. Since this is the first time, I'm using cDroid, perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I changed recents style to AOSP and now it works as I expect it.
Will test some more later on.
PS. In post #1, you write it is using the 4.x kernel. The kernel is 3.10.108 according to the tablet.
@retiredtab the issues with CoC and Clash Royal could be related to google play services and not the ROM itself, see if updating google play services makes a difference. I will continue to check into it.
Using the no sound LineageOS 16.0 build with the exact same tablet, same userid and same open pico gapps (just downloaded yesterday), Clash Royale and Clash of Clans works with LineageOS 16.0 (but with no sound).
Using the exact same tablet, same userid, same open gapps, I get "device not compatible" for Clash Royale with crDroid and evervolv.
All tests done with clean flash (wipe dalvik, cache, system, data, factory reset, etc).
Playstore version 14.0.33-all
Google Play Services version 15.1.78
Everything is up to date as Updates in google play store show "no updates available".
Question: Can you install Clash Royale on your tablet?

@nubianprince, does your evervolv 7 build work with google chrome, clash royale and Coc?
I can't past that bluetooth bug in the evervolv 7 build to configure or setup anything myself to test.

@retiredtab chrome, clash Royale and CoC works on evervolv 7.1
Best way to avoid the BT errors
Flash file + GApps, before you reboot ...
mount system.. advanced... file manager.. system.. app ... Bluetooth ...delete Bluetooth.apk then reboot.
It works for sm-t595n to?

nubianprince's build utilizes evervolv 9 for its base. Since evervolv 9 doesn't work with google chrome and other popular apps, this build won't either.
We have to wait for evervolv team to look at their build fingerprint to see what is wrong.

Try apkmirror.com download and install the apps from there, let me know if you can install apps that way.
I am currently doing an Oreo build to see if that also has issues with playstore.
As a thank you to everyone who kept posting articles about debloating MIUI, I want to share a list of safe to remove apps for Poco X3 NFC [MIUI Global 12.0.8 Stable]. Note that I use Mi Home and Aqara apps, so I had to keep some of the Xiaomi stuff. Also I will not go into detail about what these apps do, because there are tons of articles for that already.
List of Xiaomi apps that I have disabled via adb (no root required):
com.android.providers.downloads.uicom.android.soundrecordercom.google.android.apps.wellbeingcom.mi.android.globalFileexplorercom.mi.android.globallaunchercom.mi.android.globalminusscreencom.mi.globalbrowsercom.mi.globallayoutcom.mipay.wallet.in (uninstalled)com.miui.analyticscom.miui.android.fashiongallerycom.miui.audioeffectcom.miui.audiomonitorcom.miui.backupcom.miui.bugreportcom.miui.calculatorcom.miui.cleanmastercom.miui.cloudbackupcom.miui.cloudservicecom.miui.cloudservice.sysbasecom.miui.compasscom.miui.daemoncom.miui.fmcom.miui.fmservicecom.miui.freeformcom.miui.gallery (uninstalled)com.miui.global.packageinstallercom.miui.hybridcom.miui.hybrid.accessorycom.miui.micloudsynccom.miui.miservicecom.miui.mishare.connectivitycom.miui.misoundcom.miui.msa.globalcom.miui.notescom.miui.phrasecom.miui.playercom.miui.powerkeepercom.miui.touchassistantcom.miui.videoplayercom.miui.vsimcorecom.miui.weather2com.miui.yellowpagecom.tencent.soter.soterservercom.xiaomi.discovercom.xiaomi.joyosecom.xiaomi.micloud.sdkcom.xiaomi.midropcom.xiaomi.miplay_clientcom.xiaomi.misettingscom.xiaomi.paymentcom.xiaomi.powercheckercom.xiaomi.scannercom.xiaomi.simactivate.servicecom.xiaomi.xmsfcom.xiaomi.xmsfkeeper
Also tested on Redmi Note 9 Pro (MIUI Global 12.0.2 Stable). I use Nova launcher, so additionally disabled Xiaomi launcher (com.miui.home).
can i uninstall them?
Has anyone tried removing Poco Launcher, and seen if that will help Gestures work with Nova Launcher on Android 11? My only desire to remove it is to get Gestures working on Android 11 using Nova, like it did before.
There must be something which it uses to determine what the system launcher is (not default launcher).

After Android 10, if you remove the default launcher you will loose recents menu feature among other functionality. I'd advise you not to...
Guys, I've a newbie question...
It happened to me also some months ago with MIUI EEA A11 12.0.8.0 and a couple of days ago with MIUI EEA 12.5.2.0 too.
Previously I was using the 12.5.2.0 installed at the end of August '21. Normally I convert the ROM to RW ( Read & Write ) by TWRP scripts in order to be able to manually change some things...
After changing to RW the ROM, normally I uninstall some unuseful system apps, like Google Duo, Google Play Films, Google Podcasts, Google Photo, etc.
I've noticed that after a clean install of 12.5.2.0 over the same version, the uninstalled apps of the previous rom continue to be uninstalled on the new clean installed situation. It's normal this behaviour?
Usually for a clean install, I proceed to:
* wipe Cache / Dalvik / Data
* flash the ROM
* format Data
* prevent TWRP replacing
* convert ROM to RW
without wiping System partition. I suppose this is the reason... But I would like to ask your opinion if it's possible.
