i have copied both the zip to sd card now should i extract after copying or should i directly extract to sd card root.
1 more thing when i extract the both the zip the second command doesnt work but when i extract just the recovery image it works fine but cant load into cwm 1.2.1
Extract to the root sd, dont delete the zips also...
I want to downgrade from CMW 6.x (that comes with KernelPanic) to CWM 5.x, because with CWM 6 you cannot restore a backup. Using CWM 6 the android.secure-backup part is corrupted and therefore all applications on SD are gone.
I tried various methods like x-part, copying files to /system/bin and /system/xbin and one-click-installs using adb, but it will not replace the CWM 6.x. Is that because it's somehow build in with the kernel (in KernelPanic)? Or am I missing something?
Yes, exactly. Because it's built in kernel. In ramdisk to be precise.
u have to flash a kernel that have cwm 5.
this is the only solution
copy the android_secure.vfat.tar part of the backup to your computer .
Use 7z or WinRar to extract the file
You will find a bunch of files with extension .asec
Attach your phone to computer ...
Navigate to .android_secure
copy the asec files to android_secure
Profit !!

yes, this is the way of restoring that data manually to sd card.
Thanks for all the answers. I will install the Radeon Kernel, which is quite fast also and has CWM 5 in it.

there is no zip file on the internal storage.
in recovery mode, start sideload.
worked with command - adb sideload rom.zip on windows 7 cmd
this actually pushed rom.zip file onto the storage of the device.
Hello ,
I would like to install "cerberus_disguised-4.4.zip" ,my ALPHA is rooted and CWR is installed too .
I copy "cerberus_disguised-4.4.zip" to root of my ALPHA ,and boot to CWR ,but no solution for install it :
for test ,i rename "cerberus_disguised-4.4.zip" to "updte.zip" and copy to root of my mobile .it's the same problem...
choose update.zip to install form sdcard = KO
choose update.zip to install form folder = KO
and so and so ,the message is "can't mount sdcard" ,"can't mount folder" and it's right : it doesn't exist an sdcard slot.....
if anyone have an idea....
Thank you
Have you tried using TWRP recovery? I know it has been modded to deal with the SD card and OTG issues.
Yes ,with TWRP Recovery it's work !
