Reset knox counter - Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if triangle away works on this device? If not is there any other way to reset the knox counter?

You can't reset it. It's an e-fuse. Once it's blown it's blown for life.

[Q] Flashing limit?

Hi, i was just wondering if there is a flashing limit on the SGS2 ?
Since people are using jigs to reset the counter.
No, I don't think so.
Never heard of anything like it

Time to test some new roms then
People are using the jig to reset the binary counter. If you try and send it for a warranty repair with anything other than 0, Samsung will likely reject it. The jig resets to 0, so people who were running custom roms when their phone broke can have it repaired by samsung.

What is the deal with the flash counter?

What is the deal with the flash counter? Why would I not want to increase it? Are there any negative effects?

It shows you have voided your warranty through root or custom software.

I do not worry about flash counter, i have 2 Samsung phones replaced with 20 or more on each phone. Cell provider did not look at them at all

I have had rooted with custom ROM phones replaced when I bricked them. Do these counters change the game? Has anyone with a note with a non zero counter had theirs replaced via warranty?

I'm sorry to bump but has anyone else had any experience with this?
I just sent my phone back to have a stuck pixel repaired and I forgot to reset the flash counter. I only flashed it once.
I'm hella-nervous.
You guys need to search more.

I'm not sure who deal with the returns, whether its Samsung directly or just ATT. I would presume its ATT since you can go to once of their warehouses directly to do any warranty exchanges. Prevents you from waiting upwards of a week for an exchange thru mail.
I've swapped out my Atrix 4G twice, both times with root AND bootloader unlocked. Both phones actually displayed the word "unlocked" on the main boot screen and there was no way to rid the text off the screen. Obviously...that voids your warranty. However it never affected any of my swaps.
So in short, I'm not sure if anyone has had their exchanges denied, but I'd like to know. This is my first Samsung device.

I just sent my phone to Samsung with an upped flash counter. They got it today. I will know by the end of the week if they will repair it.
Fingers crossed.

Jig from s2 work with s3?

Has anyone that has rooted and tripped the counter tried a jig that worked with the s2 for clearing the counter?
I haven't seen a clear answer.

Saw this asked before and was said it doesn't. There are ones now online that say for s3 but don't know if it works

I have the jig from my s2 works. But only download mode does not reset timer.

So the jig just prevents you from having to press all the buttons to enter d/l mode? Seems pretty convenient, and less wear and tear on your buttons too. Win/Win
From what understand on Note, the counter is reset by flashing a bootloader. Which one,i have no idea. Proceed carefully if you start trying to flash bootloaders. Its an easy way to turn your phone into a paperweight

well samsung very rarely reject warranty replacements these days because of the flash counter, they tend to use this number for internal statistics only.
However they do have the right to reject it if they wish, for this reason it is always best, if you can, to reset the value.
But if you can't you can always try to send it in.

Yes I believe so.
I once sent S2 back to replace the screen. I unrooted the phone but forgot to reset counter, but they repaired it for free anyway. I did hear some people got rejected because their phone was rooted, but they were told to unroot and send it back again.

Reset Flash counter and restore warranty?

Is it possible?
Blowing into my top speaker, I noticed my device isn't properly waterproof, so I would like to fix it.
