Hi everyone, my friends tech savy son told me about this place! I am very mechanical, not digital type of guy. So forgive my ignorance on certain terms and references.
I installed a Clarion CX305 headunit in my car and it has Bluetooth. I can get my Galaxy S5 phone to pair up with the unit, volume all the way up on the phone and the headunit is showing the title of the song on its display. I am not getting any volume/sound though. I do not know what i have to do to the phone to get it to give my audio, though the song shows it is actually playing on the phone. I tried my gf's iPhone7 and her phone will play just fine through the car audio, so the unit is working, it has to be something in my phone. Any ideas what i am doing wrong? Volume, Media, Notifications, and System are turned all the way up.
thank you

Hello all,
I am having a problem getting the phone part of my new DNA to work with blue-tooth in my car. The A2DP works great but after I answer or make a phone call with my Car Stereo (eclipse 3200) I cant hear anything and they cant hear me. If I use the dial-pad on the phone to make a call I hear the tones from the button pushes but nothing after the call is connected.
Thanks for any help or suggestions

I have a Sony bluetooth player in my car and it will not even recognize the device.
Edit: It was a user error on my part. I have successfully paired and it works flawless.

My car recognizes and pairs with the DNA, but it will only play the first 1-2 seconds of music, then the radio stops receiving any audio. Sometimes it works properly and will play songs completely, but the majority of the time, it will cut out. I can pause and unpause it, and I'll get 1-2 seconds of music, then it stops again.
Also, any high pitched sounds (ie. cymbals, percussion, etc.) are very distorted. I had this same issue on the Thunderbolt The Galaxy Nexus I had for the past year had no issues and sounded perfect over bluetooth.
I am disappoint.

I think the phone just has bluetooth problems in general, or BT4 is just not 100% backwards compatible. I have a Pioneer stereo, and never had any problems with any of my android devices (OG Droid, Droid X, inc2 and gNex) connecting, but when I connect my DNA, it actually crashes the phone process on the handset and it restarts (the process, not the handset). It still appears to be connected to the stereo after that, but I haven't tried making a call yet.
Stereo doesn't support BT streaming, so I can't test that. Has an SD slot, and that's all I ever use.
I'm having the same problem. My music will play for about 3 seconds, then goes silent. The car says I'm still connected, Google Music is still playing, but it mutes out. Was having fun while driving hitting the pause/play button to listen to a song 3 seconds at a time. Does anyone know if this is a OS problem, hardware problem or incompatibility, or other problem? I didn't see many posts about this elsewhere and haven't heard back from Verizon.

Working fine for me with my Kenwood. Music does skip occasionally, but my other phones (galaxy nexus, thunderbolt) have done that too.

For all of us who suffer a HTC Toyota combo and the dreaded bluetooth pause issue I believe I have found the issue and got a working solution !
From what I gather, the HTC music player sets the bluetooth player state to pause when leaving the music player and most other apps do not set it back to streaming. I found one which does, so a simple solution !
1. Start and stop a piece of music with the Fplay music player and it will reset the bluetooth player state to streaming. I put a widget on the home screen.
2. Start your other apps and enjoy streaming sound again.
3. Enjoy

Hey all,
Ive tried about a dozen "mono" apps and have found nothing that will do what I want. I have also tried the Droid Incredible and my current phone the GS3. I have a 2011 BMW and for some reason they didnt include a2dp in their stereo system. Nothing I do will force the stereo to play music or notifications, or read out lout texts through the car speakers. The only thing that will go through is phone calls.
HOWEVER, Ive accidentally discovered something interesting. If I am on a call through bluetooth in the car and navigating at the same time, the navigation voice will come through the cars speakers as well.
So what I need is something to trick the car into thinking my phone is on a call, thus triggering the bluetooth to transmit phone sounds through the speakers, this way I can use a text message reader, music, whatever.
So the app/hack would need to emulate whatever the phone does with bluetooth signals when it starts a call. All sounds the phone makes should go to bluetooth.....which it seems like its already doing while on a call.
Thanks to anyone who responds. Mod: If there is a better place for this, feel free to move it.

I have a lexus that also for whatever reason doesnt have A2DP supported, there is a app called BTMONO that will make your radio think your phone is in a call and will transmit sound. However it is mono tone so if you are doing it for music it will not be your best bet.
I am still looking for something that will play music in stereo without the A2DP

I am working on this now for the SoundAbout app.
Tried searching and I could not find any other threads relating to this topic. I am trying to trick my car (Lexus) bluetooth into playing music. It does not have A2DP. Has anyone come up with a way to do this? Has anyone been able to do this with the SoundAbout app ?
It worked !!! I just tried an ap called "blue2car" on my iphone . .... I own a 2006 Bmw 530xi . ... damn , I wish I would have found this app 8 years ago ... it cost 10.99 but it is worth it ......
I have a Verizon s4 running 4.3 (all ota updates, nothing custom), my bluetooth connectivity seems to have suddenly gone...awry. When I connect any bluetooth headset (I have tried with multiple) the phone will register it connecting to phone and media controls. I have it set to automatically start music playback when this occurs, and while this worked before, it spontaneously changed. Instead of playing through the headset, music now plays through the earpiece speaker and the volume buttons control phone audio rather than media (note, audio will still be transmitted out through a jack, but again the buttons will not control media volume). The headsets themselves are fully functional as they still control call functions and voice search, but no longer toggle audio, let alone control playback. This effect continues even after the headset disconnects until the phone is rebooted.
The only thing I can think of having caused this is that I recently downloaded the pebble companion app (I wanted to test it out to see what its like before I decided to buy the thing or not), and the issue started after that. I uninstalled the app and rebooted/removed battery, but still the same issue. Is there any way to fix this other than a full system reboot? I'd really rather avoid that if I can help it.
I appreciate any feedback on this issue, thanks in advance!
I have exactly the same problem, I thought I was crazy or did something stupid! I thought it had to do with my root modifications until I completely wiped it out with an odin restore and redid only the root and SuperSU and it still had the issue. I used to have it stream bluetooth audio to my car and for some reason it once I started playing music and I thought it was really quiet even for my phone speaker until I noticed it coming out of the earpiece as well. I've run out of ideas as far as fixing it at this point though I'm still trying things.
Hello! My name is Efraín and I am new in this forum.
I want to know if someone can help me; Last week I bought the Beats Studio3 wireless headphones, I paired them successfully and I was able to listen to music. Everything was perfect. After that, I turned off the headphones and the bluetooth on my phone.
Then the problem appeared when I wanted to listen to music again, I connected the phone and the headphones and I could not listen to music, I specified music because I could hear the phone calls. The only thing I could not hear was the multimedia audio (youtube, spotify, samsung music, etc.).
After trying and trying, I noticed that the only way was; or reset the headphones (10 seconds the power button and lower the volume) or, pair the headphones and, when the headphones were activated, turn off the bluetooth of my phone and then turn it on again.
It's a shame, I've already talked to Apple, they told me to go to the warranty, but the nearest technical service is 500 km from my city.
I even tried my brother's iPhone 8 and it worked perfectly.
If someone can help me, I would be very grateful.
Greeting and thanks!
Efraín.
I've been experience a few issues with the new update. One of them, which is more a nuisance than anything, is my bluetooth connection to my car. It's a 2015 Mustang with MyFord Touch. The phone is a galaxy S8+. About 1/3 of the time when I start the car, the phone shows up named a bunch of random characters, instead of Galaxy S8+. Not a huge deal. My music player starts automatically (even if I close it, and kill the process). The thing that's weird is that the audio is kind of hollow sounding when it starts up UNTIL I turn on the phones display, then it kicks into a fuller sound. It's never done this before. Not only that, but it decides when it wants to display track information from Samsung music player only a small portion of the time.
If I'm playing music through Amazon Music, it updates the track information, no problem. If I switch to Samsung's music player, it just displays the last track I played on Amazon music, and never changes. If I start the car with the music player going, it won't update track information until it gets to the next song, and even that is spotty.
Aside from these issues, and the issues I'm having with the default browser, I think it's a pretty good update. But this music thing is really bugging me. For the record, I've tried rebooting the phone. I've tried changing through the AVRCP versions in the developer options, I've toggled Dolby Atmos on and off, changed the sample rate, channels, etc. Nothing seems to be affecting this problem.
On a side note, how do I close the music player so it doesn't automatically start playing when connected to bluetooth?
