Since every V30/V30+/V30S except T-Mobile H932 can now be rooted why don't you want to root the phone?

Becoz of some games...it won't work as usually. I know that from my S7 edge. That's why. I could rooted..but I don't want. I got rid of the bloat with ADB so...I don't really really need root

You're not correct. Just rooting, this phone DOES work as usual. You have quad DAC, you have AI camera. Functionality is the same because you are on stock.
Now if you install a custom ROM, that's different. (Some improvements, some trade offs.) But only bootloader unlock and root just gives you full control over your own phone.
Oh "games". You talking about stuff like Pokemon Go where people cheat with root, so the games ban people with root. Yeah, Magisk can hide root, but it's cat and mouse. OK, it's up to you.
I thought you were referring to stuff like with Sony phones where when you unlock the bootloader and root, a lot of proprietary features stop working. That's not how it is with this LG phone when you root.

I know ,I had LG phones rooted before. G3 ,G4 ..and I'm not talking about pokemon go..my game doesn't detect root. But some features in the games somehow were lagging after root.. now it's working perfect on stock. Ok wait when they give us DTS update from the G7 ?

Hi, I Have an LG G Vista 2 that i am desperately looking to root. I feel that it has a lot of potential when it comes to specs for its price, but has a huge disadvantage because bloatware and cpu caps are slowing it down. IT would be really nice if someone could point me into the right direction (or even help root it and get cyanogenmod 13/14?!?). FWI on the XDA/ XDA Labs app when it selects "MY Device" it automatically chooses the LG G Vista 2 but then randomly swiches to the LG G Flex 2. I try to change my device but there is no option for it.
Thanks in advance,

The stock ROM is already installed on the device. Unless you are talking about CM/LOS based ROMs. Sadly, no one has been able to root or unlock the bootloader on this device.
Damn, I cant seem to find anything on this neither.. NOT EVEN A way that actually weorks to by pass the google FPR NOR Stock firmware KDZ download for me to just reinstall the stock firmware....

You can't unlock the bootloader on this device, therefore we are left to exploits.
Hey I was curious if anyone has tried to get root access like what the LG G3 had with its locked bootloader? I had the LG G3 and had root access and TWRP recovery with a locked bootloader. I forget what that particular process was called, but was wondering why nothing like that has come out for the locked bootloader Moto Z. This phone has been out for a few months now, and I am really surprised that there is not root for the locked Moto Z.

I've been messing around with the dirtycow exploit but still I haven't gotten anything to work. I'm still trying though and I'll letchu know if anything works.
I don't think that's possible with Moto. Their development is pretty strict.

Does an unlocked bootloader lend itself to rooting your phone?
Also, is it possible to root with just ADB and SuperSU?

Depends on what phone you have, and what has been developed for it, but, for the most part, yes, unlocking the bootloader will at least enable you to root easily, and more.
Thanks for your answer!
Just to get it out there it's a Straight Talk ZTE Majesty Pro [Z799VL] and runs Android Marshmallow. I believe it was released back in March, so not much has been (or, probably, will be) done with it. Still, your answer gives me some hope.
I have the unlocked version of this phone. I don't see anything about root or unlocking the bootloader? Really all I want is root so I can run Network Signal Guru...
Good morning,
unfortunatly I checked yesterday and wrote also to the dev... it is still not available from Official LG Web site.

Unlocked versions is about the carrier is unlocked meaning it doesn't have a carrier/plan locked with it. It doesn't mean it have an unlocked bootloader. If you really want a unlocked bootloader phone in 2020, get OnePlus or Xiaomi, they are more dev friendly.
Also, with LG's history of supporting developers, this will not likely to get unlocked bootloaders later.

I think Motorola is dev friendly too. My friend say they give everything to root her phones. ??
I don't think someone will find a way to root the LG phones after the V30 model. My old phone before my new G8x was the V30 and it was complex to root, so I don't know for the most recent models ??*
I downloaded Treble info from play store and this is what I get;

I know but it shows that systemless root could be used and GSI roms could be used if twrp and root can be achieved.

Yea, you are right. But you guys won't get unlcoks and root anyway because you know LG's history. But it is a possibility that LG might allow that 1-2 years later.
Can we unlock the bootloader on the G8x with this method?
https://developer.lge.com/resource/mobile/RetrieveBootloader.dev
It seem that this tutorial from LG work with the LG G7. But, I wonder if it work on the most recent model.

You don't need network signal guru. There's some secret code that you can get from a simple google search to get into the secret field test menu. It gives all the network related info and let's you lock on to specific 4g bands as well.
LG supports G850EMW for G8X as well as V50s. I already received unlock.bin.
A bigger problem is extracting boot.img from the stock ROM. The latest LG KDZ Extract tool is from 2014 and doesn't handle the new DZ format.
Using the 'KSZ extractor for new format KDZs' by runningnak3d I could extract boot.img from a G850EMW20a ROM (Android 10). This will allow systemless root with Magisk.
Dec 15: rooted.
so im guessing theres going to be no deveolpment for the lgv60?

Wow.. nice
It seems like there's a variant of the V60 that can be bootloader unlocked (the Euro ver.) and back when I had the V30 we did something similar where you would have to convert your NA variant (Or any variant that was not listed in LG's official bootloader unlocking site [EXCEPT T-MOBILE]) to the supported variant's firmware then flash the unlock.bin file.
I dont know how useful this will be for the V60 though, just sharing my previous experience just too scared to test this method on my daily driver.

Yes, european versions(mine) always get bootloader unlock. But from what I know it's impossible to unlock any other versions untill someone find an exploit. And since v60 isn't very popular I doubt there will be unlock for any other version of it(about european).

Only European version of v60 supports bootloader unlocking. So you can't get root.
That's why I'll never buy this. Will stick with my old LG which is good enough.
damn what a shame, such a great phone and yet not much interest in general.
According to Unlock Bootloader Support list from LG, LMV600EA is the only device ca n be root
with the long battery life and extra screen and stylus , the v60 might be my first daily driver thats not got root.
I used to use lots of apps for root, mainly firewall to block apps from internet use and UI apps for fast system navigation and non standard features, but most of these can now be done with non root apps and cloning apps with networking disabled now, so im feeling i might just survive without the few apps that do need root.

Hi, can you give me the hint how you catched the boot.img to patch magisk? I'm not able to dump it from the phone or extract from the original kdz-archive.
(bootloader is open, just missing the right stuff to flash)
Thanks
