i-onik tp7 1500dc metal,it will not start ? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I am new to this forum and i need help
I got tablet from my friend and he told me that he wont start and that is all.
This is happening: when i try to turn on the tablet, it only shows android logo and i-onik logo but nothing happens else ,and i manage to enter into recovery mode, but it only shows me android logo and red exclamation mark, not menu with recovery options and other features.
Sombady know how to solve this problem ? Official site of i-onik is down only here i can try to solve problem. And sorry for my english.
Cheers

Battery is too low. Hard reset can be done only from inside android settings. I have not find other way to hard reset it. You must desolder the battery from mainboard, charge the battery directly from a power supply, resolder the battery to mainboard, connect the charger to usb and boot to android.
My tablet has a strange effect. When charging and the screen is off it draws about 200-400mA from charger. If the screen is on it draws 0.7-1A. This is too high, because if i unplug the charger the battery falls down very quick. I have not find why this happens.

Bricked G4 not (!) again: Charge LED does not light on power-connection

Hi there,
I have a special question to my G4 witch i do not get in operation anymore: The Problem is, that the device does not turn on, independent any keys. Either the ON-Button, Soft-Reset, Hard-Reset i do not get any of the "normal" screens. The display does not light.
Additional, the red power-charge-LED does not light when i plug in the USB-poer-supply. The same, if i disassemble the battery and plug the G4 to the power-supply...
The device has not been used for a couple of months. The last action a Upgrade to WM6.5 that worked definitively fine for a while.
Has anybody an idea? Or happend before?
Thanks in advance
Ernie
i think it`s easy
hey .. i doubt you have a problem with your g4 phone, i think you have a problem with the battery. since you left the batter inside the phone for alot of months and you didn`t use it, i think the battery is super dead, so dead, that the g4 cant power off and go to charge mode. 1 : you could try letting it charge more, like .. 1 hr plugged in , orrr , you could find an universal charger, which charges the battery by touching it`s + and - with it`s pins and putting electricity in it. (sorry for the bad explanation but i`m from romania). I think one of them two should work, if you know some other friend who has a working g4 just try with his battery. Good luck ! ^_^
Thanks for your reply.
But it happens without (!) the battery: If disassemble the battery and connect afterwards the power cable, the red LED does not flash, and no key has a function. As Soft-Reset "switch" and Hard-Reset (2-button on the left plus Soft-Reset-Switch)
First i mentioned the same as you thought...
Has anybody an idea what can be done here?
Thanks in advance.
Ernie
I'm encountering this same problem. I let the device charge over night with no luck. It will not power on at all. The battery was working fine last week. its completely dead
My Universal turn on the red LED for a seconds and after that do not charge and do not turn on. Have you find any solutions?
Thanks
exactly the same problem here on touch 3g
i got my touch 3g in Jan 2009 in Shanghai,China. Now i'm in singapore.... it's bricked, i didn't do anything wrong, it's not dropped on the ground or into the water, yesterday it was fine, but this morning i just found that it's power off. plugging in the power cable , and i won't see the orange power led. it's completely dead, soft reset and hard reset can not be initiated, because it refuses to power on.
i'm going to htc care center at harbourFront next weekend ...

You’re in the wrong section this is the Wizard forum.
I use a universal charger. Its one which takes the battery not one which plugs into the phone ...
whenever I let my phone run flat I leave the battery in the charger for a couple of hours then put it back in the phone and connect the phone charger. Once there are enough electrons whizzing around in the battery there's enough power to drive the IC that manages the charging in the phone ...
if the battery is too flat it won't even open the gates for you ...

Viewpad 7 wont boot, power button flashing red

Hello!
I purchased this device some time ago and did not modify it in anyway (no rooting/flashing etc), just a stock device. After leaving it just laying around for about a month I tried to turn it on again and nothing happened. Connecting it to USB or wall charger just makes the power button red led blink intermediately.
Ive tried:
Reset button
Hard reset (vol up+vol down+power button)
Leaving it to charge overnight from the wall charger
Leaving it to charge overnight from USB
Singing to it
Specifics:
Stock firmware
Viewsonic VPAD7
Model#: VS13761
Any help would be appreciated (even as mundane as saying "its hardware is fried") etc, just want some clarify on what happened if their is no way to fix it.
Thank you in advance
Same problem
Even My Vpad 7 is having the same problem.
Can anyone shed light to the above problem?

Let's start with here -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015005 - post #6
Can you hold the "Volumn" Down button while pressing the Power button to get into FTM mode (diagnostic screen) - make a note of the basic information it displayed.
To exit/reset - you might need to use a small pin to press the Reset button at the lower bottom (left) of the device to get it to reboot.
If it does not reboot, power down or shut-off, does it stay on with only the RED LED flashing.
Probably the battery is dead or dying..
i am in a similar situation.. i can only see a Red flashing LED. the tab wont reboot, go into diagnostics or respond to any plethora of button press combinations..
For those of you reporting problems with your Vpad7 - apparently not responding & only flashing red LED, can you access/read/verify your device's FTM status? Does it show any sort of boot-up sequence at all (the 3 birds being the common one for official Viewsonic Vpad 7's?
Please re-check your mSD card - you have one inserted right? properly formatted and not corrupted, readable as a USB drive when taken out & connected to a PC? Try removing any Sim card or vice versa, insert one and try to boot it up? Has the battery being charged to 100% (using the stock 2.0A charger - typically take 4 to 8 hours)?
Since it's NOT rooted and has no custom recovery installed (right !) - even a successful effort to boot into Recovery Mode won't help at all, but, it will help if you can get into bootloader mode.
Still following ... if everything checked out up to now, it's very likely that your ROM was corrupted/damaged and you need to reflash the "correct" factory ROM (RUU or *.nb0 file) using the factory utility - as discussed in the referenced link .
If you think you know what you are doing and dare to try a DIY rescue by flashing it all over (got nothing to lose anyway, it's a brick - paperweight at this point) - see if you can access the viewsonic website and download the files directly ... if you cannot download/access the files, please post here or PM for possible alternatives from my private collection now in cloud storage (it's geared mostly for newer/ITE devices, however, but not all of it) Please be specfic with your model's firmware/build & other info as shown under FTM or see your factory carton's box for the technical info.
If it's under warranty, by all means, contact support & get RMA to return it for repair/exchange - in 2 to 3 weeks (4 ?) you will have it back in working order, good as new - no fuzz, no worries & the "brick" can fly in android again.
If none of these apply, another possibility for the advanced users daring to play in a "what do I get to lose at this point situation" - to try to connect it to PC and run ADB using terminal emulator, to try to bring it back to life or at least restart/reboot it. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1229804
Good luck & I will check back soon ...
Unfortunately, mine will respond to none of these. nothing shows up on the computer when i plug it in.. not a sound, nothing. i may try booting up my old linux partition and see what /var/log/messages has to say when i plug it in..
i have an inkling that the battery has completely died though.. its a smart battery so has a PCB attached to it. if this has gone then i doubt the tab will power up.. unfortunately, replacement batterys arent easy to source..
i will let you know how i get on with it later on tonight when the GF and Kid have gone to sleep so i have some peace to potter around the house..
cheers for all your help my friend!
Today I plugged it in to my computer.
There was a white flash on the screen then same thing happened again.
The red light will blink sometimes or it will stay on as if it is charging but nothing is showing up on the screen.
Does anyone know how to open up the viewpad 7 or a manual on how to change the battery?

removing the back is rather simple.. run a credit card or any thin plastic along the edge starting at any corner.
good luck finding a replacement battery though.. i have searched high and low and cant find then for sale to the public that isn't a bulk order anywhere.
if you do find somewhere, please let me know..
Mine is an olivepad but I think the viewpad 7 and olivepad are the same hardware wise. (I may be wrong).
Maybe we can exchange the battery with another with the same voltage rating. And maybe higher mAh rating for better battery life?
It's already bricked so I don't mind experimenting a bit.
Here are some pictures I snapped.

Viewpad 7 won't charge battery and power on
Hi
Seems like it might be enough to just parallel connect a phone battery, with 3,7v to the battery PCB for a short period, to be able to charge the battery again.
Mogens
I disconnected the battery for 30s and assembled it back again, but the red flashing continues and it can't be turned on or charged.
Battery is over discharged.
1 - Open it and disconnect battery connector on mother board and reconnect and try to charge. If the battery percentage appears on screen appears and moving means its charging. Charge for few hours then turn on.
2 - Disconnect battery connector and charge it for 5 mins by using any 5V 1A power source for any mobile. Then put back battery connector and charge using original charger. If no other 5v 1 A source available, you have to cut the wire of same original charger and use +ve and -ve.

[Q] Solid Red light when I connected to Charge

im getting solid Red Light when i connected to power. no charging not even recondnice by the computer.. What can i do to power on the phone..
i did hard reset too nothing happend....
i read some article about red light and some says to return to sony store and some says to unplug the battery and reconnect ... i dnt have warrenty to send it to sony.....so " if i change the battery does it works" ?
Sometimes it works with replacing the battery. Sometimes you need a new mainboard ( about 100 $)
I don't know if these "test buttons" works. Then your phone will be recognzied as S1Device and you could use trying S1tool (but i think it does not support Z2 )
Same problem
Hello,
I've got the same problem. No response at all with any button combination or the red reset button.
If I connect the usb cable to charger or PC red LED turns on but nothing else. The PC doesn't recognize it, not even if I connect it with volume down pressed. I opened it and disconnected the battery. With the battery disconnected it has the same behaviour, only red light if connected.
Any ideas of what I could try?
I wouldn't expect a dead battery causing this. I mean, if the phone can get the power from the charger then it should turn on even with the battery disconnected right?
I was thinking to charge it for two days and see if anything happens, just in case. Otherwise I will need to think on how to discharge the battery manually and see what happens.
I don't to buy a new battery unless I am sure that will help...

What happens if you disconnect the battery, put the charger cable in the phone and then hold the power button and volume up button for like 5 seconds.
Do you get the battery logo on the display then?
No... Nothing at all happens

Is it the original loader (Sony, 1500mah) + sony charging Cable?
I have chargers laying around everywhere, and I noticed that sometimes the phone did nothing while using samsung chargers 750mah).
When I put my phone in the charger the light turns red. Nothing on the screen.
When I take out the charger the light stays red for a long time.
But when it is off, and I take the battery out and then put it on the charger (without the battery), then the display shows a battery logo.

[Q] Does not start after reboot sequence

Hey guys,
I was about to repair my Z2 tablet because of a broken screen. I did the Power+Volup trickt to reboot the tablet, it went off but I could not start it up again. Battery was full at that time. As I removed the screen anyways, I could do some tests:
1) If charger inserted, nothing happens, no red light nothing. Also I measured the wattage of my charger and 0 Watts is shown, so tablet is not consuming any power
2) When removing battery from systemboard and connecting charger it consumes about 2 watts and red light blinks one time - however, still not able to turn it on.
Any idea what this could be? I have the feeling that the system board thinks the battery is dead, but it really is not. I also read the other threats about waiting for battery to be drained but I'm wondering whether there is another option ..
Thanks

have you tried holding down the reset button for about two minutes?
Thanks for your reply! I tried, but unfortunately nothing happens :\ I cannot image that I have broken the device by removing the screen. It was fully ok until I executed Power+Vol Up reset mechanism.
Guys,
just wanted to let you know that after 2d the device got back to life. Not startable at first, but when connecting charger it was charging again and after some time startable.. Still, cannot image that the battery got down so fast from nearly 100% to 0%
Anyways, thanks for your help.

Won't turn on

I recently picked up this galaxy s6 edge from a friend that upgraded to a new phone. It won't turn on, neither to android recovery, nor to download mode nor the android. I charged it via wireless charging overnight and i tried for around an hour with a usb cable. What do i do?
same issue i am facing, i tried original charger, wireless charger and fast chargers from many different brands. but all failed. The device only gets warm/hot while charging and nothing happens. neither download mode nor recovery mode works. I am kind pf stuck without any solution, my device was used very rarely and its like an brand new device. Doesn't know what to do, if you find any solution then please let me know too. thanks in advance
Same problem. If I press power button very long, blue light comes on. Then it's stuck and stays like this until battery is flat. Battery charging is not possible: device heats up (tried USB and Qi), but battery doesn't take any charge.
So I opened the S6 and checked the battery directly. I can charge it directly with a lab power supply and when I plug it in and press power button, the blue notification light comes on again until battery is empty again. I can also see that only ICs get hot, but not the battery when plugging in USB.
So, it's definitely some hardware fault. I suspect power IC that is not able to power up the screen. But I don't know. I will investigate further but it looks difficult. However, I have seen many YouTube videos with same symptoms, but problem was always different than mine :/
Hi guys,
This thread is 2 months old, any of you managed to fix the problem?
I am having very similar problem. My phone was on a shelf for about a year and a half. Before now it was working perfectly. Now I can't charge it via USB or power adapter. When trying to power it up or get into download or recovery mode, nothing happens. Computer does not see it. Tried different cables, USB ports, power adapters..nothing.
The only thing that is happening to the phone is the battery logo appears when trying to charge it, though the green bar does not go over battery, only the empty grey battery with lightning icon in the middle. Also the screen does not go dark after a few seconds as it should and the red/blue LED does not turn on.
Is this the signal from the phone, that the battery is to deeply dischareged and cannot be charged again? I am googling all over the web and can't find anybody talking about what phone does in case of to low voltage on battery.
PS back does not seem to be bloated, USB port was working perfectly last time used
Please try to help, you are my last stop before opening the phone and start probing the poop out of motherboard to see what gave.
EDIT: something interesting happened just about an hour after my post. The battery suddenly started showing % of charge and the green bar started running, computer recognized the phone.. as everything should be.
My FIX: leave the phone pluged in and charging for about 3days and it will start working again.
My semi professional explenation of fix and problem: the phone has a ''backup or reserve'' battery. It is actually main battery but the last I think I read somewhere it is 20% of capacity, is reserved for phone exclusively for the clock and all other electronics that need power when switched off. Now these 20% probably were discharged due to laying around for almost 2 years.
It took me 3 days of charging to fill up these ''20%'' I guess. Probably because Lithium batteries are charged VERY slow at very start and end. This is safty procedure for ALL Li batteries.
If any expert can confirm my conclusion please do so, to help other people.
To answer partialy to my question: The phone tells you battery is ''deep'' discharged when you only see the charge icon without the green bar.
In the mean time I was writing this edit I came up to 4% battery and turned it on!
