Hello there just bought an Amazfit 2 Stratos went home to pair it with my S8 Galaxy and i scanned the QR code everything was fine my phone recognized it but the watch showed me the QR again i tried 3-4 times again nothing. I went to my iPhone and paired it perfectly also updated the firmware then tried to unpair it from iPhone and test it on S8 again and still nothing happened . It scans the QR code my phone recognize the watch but on the watch screen i still see the QR screen instead of choosing left or right hand.
Thanks in advance.
Hello. Check is the watch is in the phone's BT settings, if it is there then remove and try to pair again. If it's not, try pairing with WiFi off on phone.

Are you using a custom ROM, Oreo-based? Oreo may block some permissions making pairing difficult.

No im using a default one should i install a custom one if yes could you suggest me the best for S8 !
Thanks!
Sorry, I don't know any custom ROM for S8. But if the current one you have isn't 8.0+, then shouldn't be any problem pairing. My last 2 suggestions:
- Look for a Chinese version of Amazfit Watch app (current one is 2.4.0-CN, I think the one in APKMirror is the CN version), if your watch is the model A1609 it may pair only with CN Amazfit app;
- Try pairing with another phone with Android 7.1 or older, if it still doesn't pair then maybe there is a problem with the watch.

I received today my amazfit stratos (1619) and I've got exact the same problem (Samsung S8 with android 8.0.0). I think that we need to wait for the new official update which will support S8...
Just pair watch on any other phone (android 7 and below) and then log in to Amazfit App with the same account, watch should be paired. Worked for me.
Yes, this worked for some people that could not pair using Oreo:
This should work: pair the watch using your account and the other phone, then put watch in airplane mode (so it will disconnect from phone) and uninstall Amazfit app and remove watch from phone's Bluetooth settings (watch won't be unpaired, so no factory reset). Then go to your phone, make sure the watch isn't listed in Bluetooth settings, install the same app version used before, turn off airplane mode on watch and login to your account. The watch and phone should show the usual pair request with a pin code, confirm in both and they should be paired. If it doesn't happen then your phone's Bluetooth cannot see the watch for some reason... I have done this thousands times and it always worked if the phone can find the watch.

I have the Gear S and the Note 4 (both through T-Mobile). I have noticed that when I move out of bluetooth range of my phone, the watch connects remotely so that I can take calls on the watch, but when I come back within bluetooth range of the phone the watch will not automatically reconnect via bluetooth. It remains connected remotely (even when the phone and the watch are sitting right next to one another). Am I doing something wrong, or am I just going to have to reestablish the bluetooth connection manually?

It not gonna reconnect right away. Blue tooth would have to be scanning non stop. Then people will complain about battery dying fast. Also it takes about 10 min for it to search and connect depending on your phone.
BAD ASS NOTE 4 + BAD ASS GEAR S
Thanks a lot. That explanation actually makes a lot of sense.
That's not quite how Bluetooth works, however this fix for this issue is straight forward.
Un install Samsung Gear from your phone. Reset your Gear S, install Samsung Gear, reconnect phone and restore data.
Bluetooth should re connect within seconds after you walk away from your phone.
This broke because of an issue in an update patch to the Samsung Gear software. The patch does not upgrade the software properly, and a re installation is required.
I had the same issue with my Note Edge and Gear S.
Fixed now though.
I had the same issue and re installed yesterday and it connected. What I found to be annoying was I had to completely delete Samsung app store from note or I couldn't install apps from Sammy. It would download then during install process it would fail with error code -112 . It may have something to do with when I fix permission in recovery but it only started doing that after latest update. It's annoying but I guess the temp solution is easy to fix
I have similar problem with bluetooth. When I turn off bluetooth and then turning on the Gear won't to connect. On the phone request pair code for bluetooth appears, but on Gear appears: GT-I9301I is attepting to connect to your Gear. To connect to GT-I9301I, the gear will be reset to its factory settings..When the device is reset, it connect properly and everything work fine until I turn bluetooth off. Then again want to reset the device. My Gear is SM-R750A and phone is GT-I9301I. I try to re-install Gear Manager, reset phone, reset Gear, but still have tis problem.

I have made a thread describing how to fix this....In a nut shell you need to completely uninstall gear mgr and galaxy apps and delete the apps in gear manager under the manage apps then click all which is beside the updates tab. Also uninstall all updates to galaxy apps. This will fix issue. here is the xda thread link. Follow it to a t and you will be good l. Let me know your outcome.

I try this, but didn't work. I think the problem is Bluetooth of the phone, becouse I paired Gear S with two different phone and work fine. Also when I try to pair phone with bluetooth in car it appears same problem - connect only first time. Is there any way to re-install the Bluetooth or to change driver or something like that.
Try deleting data in app manager for anything bluetooth related. Factory reset phone if that doesn't work. If you are on a custom rom reinstall rom and see if that helps, research if a different kernel works better. Good luck
Turn off "Use Remote Connection" in the Gear S app settings on your phone. Problem solved
Actually, ignore my previous response, that did not solve the issue.
What did, however, was unpairing then reparing the Gear S to my phone. No problems since

I had the same issue and used the suggestion above and it didn't work.
I uninstalled on the device, reset gear, then reinstalled on device and reconnected...bluetooth did connect. I walked away came back and the gear didn't reconnect automatically. I had to reconnect from the phone side. THIS SUCKS!!!
Anyone have any other suggestions? i have gear s and NOTE 3 (android 5.0)

Note 5 and Gear S not reconnecting automatically
My New Note 5 has the same problem, not reconnecting after phone and watch are back together. I have to manually flip on phone use in bluetooth settings. This is still after factory resetting phone and watch. Is there any updated fixes

Hello someone managed to solve even me notes 3 and gear s when disconnected with the bluetooth will not re connects
Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to read.
I bought my Bip back in February and it has been a joy to use. About 3 weeks ago I opened the MiFit app and it said as it often did that there was a new firmware and proceeded to run an update. It had done this many times before without a problem. This time however when returning to the watch it said "Connect to APP to update". I tried connecting it to the app but each time I pressed tick on the watch the phone gave an error that the connection was refused. I checked the Amazfit support pages and followed the suggestions of rebooting the phone, forgetting the watch in the app and then in the bluetooth settings on the phone but the problem still persists. I tried it on the wife's iphone to rule out my handset but got the same error. The watch is not visible in the bluetooth settings of the phone.
Video of problem: /drive.google.com/file/d/11ftktWFmqf4dFrWyyg9fMEOrCNhr3kEn/view?usp=sharing
Since then I have tried on an Android phone and got a bit further. With Android I can pair through bluetooth but when running the MiFit app I get an error that the connection fails when trying to pair up the watch. I then installed the "Notify and Fitness" app which does see the watch however on attempting to update the firmware or resources it fails at 98-99%. When using the tests in the app I can get the watch to run a heart rate test and vibrate. Also if I flash with a chinese res file then the language of the error also changes.
I have tried using the two alternative methods of update, new and old firmware but to no avail. I have also tried doing this without the MiFit ap installed and firmware updates through gadget bridge.
One last thing to try is for the battery to run down and restart the thing but I am still a week at least away from 0% and Have been trying to fix it for a fortnight
Do any of teh gurus of XDA have any tips or suggestions of what else I could try?
Thanks in advance!
Any solution in 2019 using iphone?
Hello.
Did you solve this problem?
I found solutions but they were wrote more than a year ago...
And all of them used android phones to install new (now old) firmwares, but I only can use my iphone...

I let it run down helped along by repeated vibration tests but eventually after about 3 weeks the thing ran out of juice. Charged it and started it back up and it booted up fine, it has been fine since! great little watch but really needs a hard reset button.
Good luck
I did a 16k run around 1h15 with update 2.3.8.0 at the end it was at 40% of charge.
Comparing with the same run last week with version 2.3.7.0 at the end it was well charged, left 85%.
Run was done with a blue tooth belt.
This means 50% more drain with update 2.3.8.0, this make long run almost not possible.
I tested yesterday with BT headphones and the drop was about 14% per hour, what is kinda normal... Do you have any third party apps installed on watch? Did you reset the new "Activity Reminders" in Settings -> Common (turn both on then off again)? If yes, you may need to reset data and test: unpair and pair again but do not restore old data to watch.
Possible fix

Reminders where both on off.
Do not know what you mean by reset data and test.
I will try to do a factory reset and see next week, if this helps.
Thanks for the tips

If you cannot pair:
1. Make sure you have the latest version of Amazfit Watch app installed on phone, if you re-install it, login using the same account used in the past in order to be able to pair with watch again;
2. When you factory reset watch you must do it while it's connected to the phone or use Amazfit to unpair in order to do it properly or you may not be able to it again. If you didn't, you have to pair it with another phone or account, unpair and then pair with your phone/account;
3. It's not common with Stratos, but you may have a Bluetooth issue: if you cannot pair with another phone/account then probably it's dead.

Thanks for the tips,
Then without phone connection my watch is dead, just 3 montsh and dead, that's really bad quality.
This means better to never try a factory reset with Amazfit product.

Are you sure you cannot pair with another phone? While it's connected to computer, use this adb command:
Code:
adb reboot wipe
It will erase all data on watch and show the QR code again, then try to pair with another phone, making sure you have the latest version of Amazfit installed.

Sounds like this command does a factory reset. Then I will be in the same state than the factory reset done by watch menu.
Unfortunately, I have the latest firmware 2.3.8.0 and this is the cause of pairing failure, may be the phone watch application does not recognize and new watch firmware.
Anyway I will try to use "adb" command later, do not have time to loose with this watch actually.
Thanks for the help.

For me battery drain seems to disappeear after I changed watchface to original one Night run . Of course all the notificaions mentioned above are off.

Just to add to this: when I unpaired my watch from the Amazfit app, the watch performed a factory reset directly after and after a long reboot it showed the QR code. I've successfully paired it and the app even asked to restore some data to the phone.
Now let's hope the factory reset helps against the battery drain.

10 days later and the battery drain has been gone since.
So a factory reset seems to solve the issue.
Also 'Rise to light up' now works again.
I have a problem with my Amazfit Stratos 2 smartwatch. I cannot connect to my smartphone. Get stuck at QR code - where I get this message - "You can pair only one pair of the same type of watch". I cannot use the smartwatch because I cannot overpasse the QR code error. If anyone know how to resolve this problem I would appreciate the help.
Thank you!
Stratos 2 doesn't exist...
You didn't unpair the watch correctly: create a new account (preferably using another phone), pair again then unpair correctly and you will be able to pair with your account again.

Hi there
I am struggling to pair the Amazfit Pace with my iphone. I scan the QR Code and get an Error Message that says I need to unpair the device from bluetooth. The problem is, it's not in the bluetooth list for me to unpair it. I tried other devices including an iPhone 5... same error issue. I reset my iPhone, I removed Amazfit App from the storage of my iPhone.
What is this error? What do I need to do? Is this an Amazfit App issue?
I cannot get past the QR Code screen to see or do anything more than drive myself crazy going to the bluetooth setting to remove the device, knowing full well, it's not in the list.
any help? Or is this a junk smart watch?
The watch is new? If yes, probably you must first update the firmware using and Android phone with Android 7.1 or older, or use a Huami tool to install at lest firmware 1.3.8. If it's not brand new, probably it was paired with another account, then you must first unpair it properly from that account...
Edit: if you haven't done it yet, restarting the watch a couple of times may help too.
