Sharp Aquos S3 mini
I know this phone must be rootable. I have tried some one-click root tools, no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction: do I need to root this phone to install GApps? I think I must install TWRP and SuperSU. Does any one know if root access is blocked? Its a nice compact phone, but I need Google and Chrome to make it all tick. Thanks!

I've been online searching endlessly! The company hasn't even given us a firmware for it.....
Everything is possible to root. Just have to wait for the right guys to get their hands on one. I've found 1 link in here that lets you install a Google alternative to play, but it's still hard to use the phone normally with a Google account. I love the phone, but the company maybe one that is not good with support...
Here's the link to the play store alternative.

root?

Hello could someone please point me in the right direction to root this thing. I've notice there are different methods and a lot of brick talk on here so I'm a little reluctant to use one.I'm not new to the root I have rooted my evo,intercept,g2, galaxy tab. But all those seemed pretty safe I have t 201 and I updated to ics. One more thing I don't care much about the roms just want to run rooted programs so is it even worth it with such a new device?
I rooted mine with sparkys root but first use the unlock tool <unzip your unlock tool prior>...sparkys app is easy either download it with your computer then place in the file of your liking to open and install the app... or i think you can just download it from his page in developement with your prime. And has uproot available which I have done and then rerooted just for fun... enjoy your rooted Prime..

[Q] Any chance to root Galaxy S3 Mini clone aka Bephone I9300

Recently bought an android phone hoping it was on ICS 4.0.3 as it states in the About Phone. Just read through a forum @ forum.china-iphone.ru/viewtopic.php?t=24021 that it wasn't. Is there any hope this device can be rooted at least? I'm having a lot of apps which can install from Google Play but aren't working properly sometimes downright shutting down (ie. Temple Run). I even get the error 498 while trying to download some apps. Hoping you could help me root it.
Here's some more details about this phone.

New z Ultra, questions about rooting

Hi all, I drunkly ran into the sea with my Nexus 5 in my pocket so that is long gone.
Next week I'm thinking about investing in an xperia z ultra, however I have seen and heard of many of the methods used to root it will capture your IMEI number and use it for malicious reasons.
I was looking at following this guide (presuming my phone software/firmware will even be compatible) and just want to clarify it works fine with no danger.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569904
This is the link to the phone I'm looking at buying
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Sony-Xper...68398?pt=UK_Mobile_Phones&hash=item35cff8fe2e
If I cannot root the phone, I will not be buying it as adblock is a must for me, and if xposed works then I'll be delighted also.
Can someone please help clear up my confusion?
Thanks!

That would work, or there is a dual recovery installer(CWM and TWRP)that you could use if you want recovery. Whichever you use let the phone update to .108 firmware then run it, if you unlock your bootloader be sure to back up your TA partition beforehand.

As the ever helpful @adfurgerson said. EasyRoot is the best tool or [NUT]'s recovery installer. They both use the same exploit.
Any other questions just ask, after searching
Thanks guys :fingers-crossed:
For me the easiest one I use is the Dual Recovery installation files. It has an option to root and install dual recovery all in one.
I used Flashtool for rooting, few clicks and done.
Then i flashed dualrecovery and GPe ROM :good:

Have any of you guys found a reliable way to do this yet? Most of the links or guides I've seen on this so far seem a little be hand wavey in one way or another.
Also, you used kingo root to root it? It wouldn't work when I downloaded the apk, did you have to download it to your desktop?

Did you get it to work with google play? WHat ROM did you use, I'm unsure if I should use the GR3 (model TAG-L--) or the TIT-AL00 ROM.

Did you manage to get it working with google services?
I'm guessing the guys in this thread have either sorted the problem or no longer need the solution. However, if anyone else is in the same position, I'm just updating to let you know that I (with a lot of help from a friend) have got google play services installed and working on my phone. We used a combination of this thread which is the same process, but the device here is slightly different (TIT, not TAG) and therefore the CWM recovery file never worked on my phone. So using this thread, we were able to find the download TWRP instead (it links to another thread where you can download TWRP).
The entire process if fairly simple.
The hardest part for me was getting the bootloader code. I needed to contact Huawei consumer services (one of the European offices) and explain I needed the code. They told me I needed to contact the Chinese consumer services as that's where I bought the phone, they spoken very little English so it went nowhere fast. I contacted the same European office again and explained I cannot get the code via typing my info into the unlocker webpage, nor through the Chinese office. So they managed to get back to me after a day or so with the code (I needed to send a screenshot of the unlocker page failing to give me the code, along with the other phone info the unlocker page asks for).
Once you have that, just follow the guide for the TIT-AL00 (but with the TWRP recovery linked above). You don't need to root the device if you just want GAPPs. I have the device working with all the google apps etc, and didn't need root access.

Have you used some automatic rooting apps like kingroot.apk or KingoRoot for pc?
Tried both, they failed. I also tried the apk of one, so in total 3 attempts.
In the official web there is at least one guide to root with twrp but is in chinese or god knows what. I would try to follow it but Im afraid that the twrp I install will be in that language too and them I will be screwed, and I dont know how to restore the original recovery if I need to. I mean, I dont want to go into that adventure without a recovery plan.
Is it so difficult to write in english so that the rest of the world actually knows? Im already regretting buying this phone and definitely wont buy another nubia for a looooooooooooong time.
ok so I rooted it installint the twrp but I didnt like to put my ass on the line without a backup plan... twrp was in chinese but i could switch it to english. with twrp installed, everything else is almost obvious.
The twrp int he chinese page is the latest one but cant download it in any way from that server, so I got one from the russian.
Then I noticed that here is also the same twrp, tho not the latest, but still works:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/zte-nubia-z11-mini-s-nx549j-twrp-root-t3560176
In my defense I have to say that link is not in the z11 mini S forum...
