Unable to update HTC M8(one) to Marshmellow from Lollipop - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an unlocked M8 running official Android 6.0.1 Lollipop. When I check for software updates, I'm told that there are no updates available and my phone is up to date. I know that this phone can take Marshmellow so I am puzzled why it is not showing as being available.
I contacted HTC and after looking at the imei they told me to delete data from the updater and download manager and then try again. I did so but still no sign of marshmellow. HTC assure me that it will eventually become available but I am not so sure. Does anyone have ideas about what is going on?

[Q] Unrooted and HTC Software OTA Won't Update

Hey guys, I followed one of the tutorials on how to unroot your EVO 3D and bring it back to stock. Before I unrooted my phone, I kept getting a notification that an OTA update was available, specifically version 2.08.651.2 (August 18, 2011). Right now, my software number is 1.11.651.2. I want to update to the newer version, but when I go to Settings > System updates > HTC software update > Check now, it shows no updates are available. I've tried rebooting the phone and checking repeatedly. I'm kinda lost here and not sure what to do. I was wondering if the PG86IMG I downloaded to return to stock disabled OTA updates, but I highly doubt that since it's just a stock image. If I could find a download link to the updates, I could apply them manually through the bootloader. If not, I might suck it up and take my phone into Sprint and get them to see what's up and update my phone there. Either way, what do you think I should do? I want it updated though. Thanks in advance.
so u unrooted using the approved method and then tried to update to 2.3.4 via HTC but it would'nt find the update? Just wanna make sure u know that if u take this update ur only option is to root via HTC's unlocked bootloader which isn't a true unlock... secondly if that is ur desire and the stock image won't find the update then i would check ur source and make sure it's not missing something. I turned off my update check cuz once it checks and finds an update that little icon stays in ur taskbar unless u factory reset and i was waiting to root with teamwin's method so i didn't take the update. if i knew how to pull the image without updating id post it for ya...
Yes sir! I understand that updating my software to version 2.8.651.2 will prevent my phone from being rootable until somebody figures out a method to make it rootable. I have no need for rooting my phone actually. I tried out a few roms, and I would rather stick with a stock unrooted rom in case I ever need to take my phone into Sprint for service. The Sprint store where I live won't do any service to a rooted phone, so I need to be on the safe side. I went to the store today, and unfortunately the only people available at the time were sales representatives, so they were of no help. They just told me to wait and keep trying to update the phone periodically. If it doesn't show any updates within the next month, my only choices will be to either call Sprint and see if they can push the update to my phone or find an update image, transfer it to my phone, and manually update it through the bootloader. I also read on an EVO 4G thread that the phone won't update if it's missing SprintUpdater.apk. I doubt a stock rom would be missing that app though. I had the update notification when I was rooted, but I didn't download it because it would break my root, and now that I'm completely back to stock, I should get the notification. What gives? I wish Sprint would send out the updates all at once instead of in waves. Anybody wanna chime in?

[Q] Undo AT&T HOX+ 1.19.502.1 Update

So when this update came out a month ago I updated and lost the ability to run a lot of applications due to a major bug. The bug only appears when the phone is encrypted and prevents chrome, chrome beta, Mint, Google search, and many more apps from opening. According to the AT&T forums HTC knows about the issue, but because AT&T sucks I doubt this will be solved in the near future.
Is there a way to downgrade to the 1.15... version that I had before the OTA update?
I have tried factory restore, along with using a computer and installing the RUU.
phone is unrooted and completely stock
Thanks

Need some software help PLEASE!!!

I will start by saying I've never done any updating, rooting, unlocking, etc on any Android device. I used to do some with Blackberry but I've just stayed stock with my Android devices.
I'm currently using the HTC Droid DNA and I chatted online today with an HTC support person regarding my issues. I bought my phone from an individual last year and apparently he must have unlocked the bootloader. I'm running Android Version 4.1.1 and my software # is 1.15.605.4 701RD. Apparently I've missed the last 2 updates and I don't have the option from my phone to manually check for updates. Based on my chat today with HTC there's nowhere online they will allow me to download the updates. They mentioned taking it to a Verizon store but I don't want to do that. I would really like to be able to get the newest software version. Can anyone help me get the newest updates?

If it's rooted, install flash image gui from play store, install twrp recovery and then flash santod040's stock rom, to bring your phone to the latest stuff

Now first thing first. Try a factory reset.. backup your data first. If that doesn't fix the issue comment and Ill tell you what to do next.
Are you trying to be on the latest firmware as it comes from HTC (Stock), or the latest firmware modified with custom options and tweaks as in a custom ROM?

What does this OTA include?

I'm running the stock rom from the 7.23.502.1 RUU. Last night I received notification that an OTA update has been downloaded and ready to install. Since I'm rooted, have TWRP installed, and have deleted most of the AT&T bloatware, I know the OTA won't flash. I pretty much need to run the RUU again, flash the OTA and set up everything from scratch. I'd rather not take the time to do that right now unless this includes the Stagefright patch. I haven't read anywhere that AT&T was even going to patch the M7. Patches for the M8 & M9 started rolling out a couple of weeks ago. From what I've read, those updates were about 50MB. The file I got is 193MB. I can't find any information anywhere regarding an update coming from AT&T for the M7, be it Stagefright, Sense 7 or Android 5.1.
I did notice something odd with this download. In the past all the OTAs I received downloaded to /cache/fumo/OTAPkg.zip. The one I just received was downloaded to /sdcard/fumo/OTAPkg.zip. Probably just being paranoid, but could some sort of malware disguise itself as an OTA?
Do any of the insiders here have info on what this update includes? Also, any way to kill the reminder to install the update w/o actually installing the update? If I delete the OTAPkg.zip, any way to prevent it from downloading again until I specifically request it?

I'm guessing it's to address the Stagefright issue. See these links:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/t-htc-one/575243-software-update-7-23-502-4-a.html
http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB420290&cv=820
Thanks for the links. I saw the androidcentral article about AT&T pushing the Stagefright patch to M8 & M9, but it didn't mention the M7. I had not seen that AT&T support page info, though. It'd be nice if that specifically stated it does patch Stagefright. At least I know it's not some sort of malware. Gonna be a few days before I have time to run the RUU so I can apply the OTA.

VZW XT1528 safe to install system update?

I followed the instructions here to sim-unlock my Verizon XT1528 and am now using it on Consumer Cellular. I have disabled most of the built-in verizon and moto apps, however it seems that the OTA updater has already downloaded a system update, as it keeps repeatedly prompting me to install the update.
Will installing the update cause any issues with my current service? Will it need to be re-unlocked? Or will it continue working the way it is after the update has been installed? Or will the "other improvements" make it useless to me.
The current software version is 23.11.17.survia_verizon.verizon.en.US.vzw, build # LPI23.29-17, android version 5.1 (screenshot)
The new software version it wants to install is 23.16.5.en.US. (and it really wants to install it!).
Part of the reason I'm concerned is that according to the page on their website, "This update brings Androidâ„¢ 5.1 Lollipop to your phone along with other improvements", however the phone already has 5.1 on it.
To be clear, I am talking about the verizon XT1528 Moto E 2nd Generation with the locked bootloader--it is not possible to root it or install another ROM.
Lastly, if updating will lock me out of using Consumer Cellular on it, is there any way to remove the update and/or prevent the prompt from showing up again.
@StanSt
For what it worth this is what mine is running. I'm on AT&T though. I don't know if that would make any difference or not.
Worked Fine
I updated my wife's xt1528. GSM still works.

Note that the original post was inquiring about a previous update.
There is an update in the past couple of days or so (late April - early May 2016) that brings it up to 23.201.2 etc etc , build LPIS 23.29-17.5.-2
Moto says changes are "Includes the updates of Android security patches until April 1st 2016."
GSM still works after this latest May update.
