Hi! I'm an new owner of an Xperia S, and am really proud of it!
I was just wondering if there's a way to automatically turn off Wi-Fi when the Xperia S is in standby mode. I found that keeping the Wi-Fi on while the screen is off drains the battery quite significantly. I know turning off the Wi-Fi manually is an option, but I always forget to do so.
On my previous phone, the LG Optimus 2X, the Wi-Fi automatically switches off when the phone's screen is off in about 5 minutes.
Are there specific kernels for the Xperia S which supports this?
Thanks in advance!
You can use "juice defend" in play market to do this
go to wifi settings and in advanced there is an option to turn it off while the screen is off.
option available in wi-fi settings
go to settings/wireless & networks/wi-fi settings now tap on menu (right end capacitive button) then click on Advanced/wi-fi sleep policy there you find options
1.when screen turns off
2.never when plugged in
3.never
i think you should go for option 1
Wow! I didn't know of that hidden advanced menu. Thanks a lot guys!
After recent Android Pie update, (9.0.0.232(C636E10R3P), I cannot set a screen timeout any longer than 10 minutes. Prior to this Android update, there was a "NEVER" option at the bottom of the list.
Without this option, streaming is constantly being interrupted. How can this option be reinstated?
Thanks.
I usually don't use automatic brightness and have it turned off in the settings, but if I turn off the phone and power it back on or restart it, the automatic brightness seems to always turn on again without me enabling it. It isn't a major issue or anything but I am wondering why it does that
Its the same on my device and 2 of my brothers (all mate 20 pro) Also a friend has the p30 pro and this device does exactly the same. Dont know why huawei change this, so the device save the settings...
Hello,
When the phone locks after the timeout, Always on Display is not working, it appears for 5 seconds and then it fades.
When I manually lock the phone it does works ok.
RMX2202_11_A.13.
I didn't receive update for A.16.
Thanks
Personalizations -> AOD -> Display options -> All Day
I already did that. The problem is with "all day" selected.
I have the same problem, it worked good since few days ago, now it does the same!
Is tjhere a way to change the screen time to automatically timeout during videos? If I fall asleep watching anything, could be Youtube or browser, I find my phone dead in the morning because the screen never times out.
I've already done the obvious, **Settings > Display > Screen timeout > .....**
Nothing changes.
