I was running a custom Nougat ROM on my phone.
I wanted to load a stock Nougat Vodafone ROM via ODIN.
None are working.
Below are all the firmware(s) that I have tried.
G925FXXU6ERD1_G925FXXU6ERD1_VOD - Android 7 - Closest one to work. Error on Odin towards the end, no SW REV error on the phone.
G925FXXS5ERA3_G925FVFG5EQJ5_VOD - Android 7
G925FXXS5ERBC_G925FVFG5EQJ5_VOD - Android 7
VOD-G925FXXU6ERD1-20180503151027 - Android 7
G925FXXS5EQL5_G925FVFG5EQJ5_VOD - Android 7
G925FXXU5EQBG_G925FVFG5EQBG_VOD - Android 7
G925FXXS5EQK9_G925FVFG5EQJ5_VOD - Android 7
G925FXXU5EQAC_G925FOXA5EQB1_XEU - Android 7
G925FXXU3DPB8_G925FVFG3DPB8_VOD - Android 6.0.1
G925FXXU4DPJG_G925FVFG4DPJG_VOD - Android 6.0.1
- Only these two works. I cannot update to 7.0 via the firmware.
I'm getting errors SW Rev Check Fail - Device 6: Binary : 4/5.
Smart Switch doesn't work either. No listing comes up when I click Emergency Software Recovery.
Edit
So I have two downloads of G925FXXU4DPJG_G925FVFG4DPJG_VOD - Android 6.0.1.
Download 1 works, and 2 does not.
1 has the files :
Boot.img
System.img
Userdata.img
Recovery.img
2 has the files:
boot.img
cache.img
cm.bin
hidden.img
modem.bin
recovery.img
sboot.bin
system.img
ALL FIRMWARES THAT DO NOT WORK LOOK LIKE #2
EDIT #2
- Just flashed a custom Android 7 ROM and then the Stock Nougat 7 ROM. Then it worked.

I have SM-P902 Note Pro 12.2" + 3G. Its a special version for Turkey.
Universal version of Note Pro 12.2" + 3G is called SM-P901. I ve searched and it seems like P902 and P901 has same hardware at all. Since there is no stock rom for p902 or update, i want to flash P901 stock rom to my device.
When i try to flash P901 rom from Odin i get error and it fails. I belive its some kind of product code mismatch or sth.
Here is what i asking for.
1. Is there a way i can flash P901 rom to my P902 via Odin?
2. When i extract tar file i get system.img file. Can i flash it somehow? Will it work?
3. Can i extract system.img file? (Tried ext4_unpacker but i get img file format error)
Device works with 4.4.2
Hello,
I'm new in android and I have a few question please:
Q: Samsung firmware built with the following structure:
AP - boot.img - I think its a boot loader
Recovery.img - recovery mode
System.img - filesystem
BL - cm.img - What is ?
param.img - What is ?
sboot.img - What is ? another bootloader ? why ?
CP - modem.img - modem firmware
CSC - cache.img - What is ?
pit.img - What is pit i see it many places what does it mean ?
hidden.img - What is ?
What is the role of each item and how we can custom it ? is it possible ?
Q: I see many post about custom ROM, is it talk about custom System.img only ?
Q: I see many post about ROOT, and its very correct how to do this but I wanna know how to create ROOT,
to do ROOT on android OS we need to flash two images only (recovery.img and sometimes cache.img), my
question is how i can to create the images alone ? I assume that some who created the image
(recovery.img or cache.img) patch the original arm code in binary file, but I wanna know where ?
Thanks a lot,
David,
Hi, I have a s6 edge on which I had a lineage os rom (android 9) but I wish to get back to stock rom (7) but when flashing via odin I get a failure after cm.bin and an error message on phone something like "invalid SW rev". I have read on other forums and is it possible that it has something to do with bootloader and I am no longer able to downgrade from android 9? Hoping to get some help here. Thanks
EDIT: Please close or delete the thread. I was using the wrong bootloader version.
Please someone help me

I tried to re-flash my A50s with its original stock rom (from this website). I have tried these 2 roms :
A507FNXXU5DUG4 (Android 11)
A507FNXXU5CUB1 (Android 10)
Both failed to be flashed properly and sent me back to Download Mode with this error :
Code:
ODIN MODE (AVB Fail)
system : Error validating footer
Samsung System (installed rom series), (random number I don't understand)
VBMETA (installed rom series), (random number same as above)
As far as I understand, vbmeta failure is caused because Samsung fail to validate security on the rom. But my roms, both are original roms. If this information helps, I don't have TWRP installed because I was trying to go back to the unroot version. If even original stock roms fail, then I don't know where to go anymore from here. It's been hours and I'm frustrated. Any suggestion ?
