Thank you so much! Used to use your kernel back when I had OP3T and was just an xda lurker
Curious to see what made the initial release as far as features. Flashing now...
Would u say focus on performance or battery life or both ???

Xceed does not focus on anything the project aims to be just simple, stable and easy to use (Flash and Forget principle) but there's always surprises..
EDIT: we're looking for an active TG crew who can run tests with me, if you feel you're qualified and up to the task then you can PM @ilia1985 for more information about it
Appears to be a good kernel for anyone looking for a flash-and-forget performance oriented kernel. Doesn't have a whole lot of options to fulfill my tweaking addition, but this kernel is not meant for loads of options anyways.
First impressions look pretty good, kernel is extremely responsive, and apps appear to open faster compared to stock kernel (probably due to OC freqs). However I'm noticing my CPU hitting max frequencies & sticking there while playing Train Conductor World, even while idling on the "map". Flashed back to stock kernel to compare and stock kernel does NOT exhibit this behavior.
@kairi bro good to see you here..hope you remember me from Xiaomi mi3 days..you can always count on me..I will try the kernel and let you know the feedback .

comments are always welcome...
But I do hope, before your wrote this up, you could have almost seen a reply from almost every dev here that you can't compare the stock kernel to to almost every kernel (custom), why is that so?? if you have tracked down the commit history it was evident that the Oneplus QOS framework together with some hooks have been removed, furthermore, the shipped opchain module with the source is a bit nit-picky to build, that module controls/moderates frequency behavior..

Said no OEM ever and what every jealous wannabe says....
And yet for every new phone 1 of the 1st things that leak are benchmarks... Benchmarks are one of deciding factors when buying choosing a phone. It may not say much about real world performance or UI fluidity but bench marks are a measuring tool which help tune/refine software/hardware and your comment above only shows your ignorance.

Would this work on OnePlus 5?
If not will you be releasing an OP5 version?
Your work has always been fantastic.

Wow, please try to white knight a little harder next time. Sad.
No one is bashing anyone, it's a legitimate question that may have an important answer. The dev says his focus is speed and stability, the latter of the two being inferior in DL30 when compared to EB01. I'm sure the community would love to have a little more information as to why he chose DL30 before they start flashing and donating.
As someone who regularly donates to developers and very rarely posts in the forums, I would recommend you try a little harder to be a constructive community member and not another fanboi cluttering development threads.

The developer has next to no details in his post, no screenshots, no benchmarks, no known issues listed and no clear list of features that set this ROM apart from any other, but you are "interested." You just blindly rebuked someone with a constructive question to try and be a white knight. So fail.
If you also look at his twitter, it shows that he has, at least, some knowledge in dev'ing for phones. I am looking forward to this ROM and another dev to the fascinate phone.
how can u say EB01 is better what all testing did u do ??

I'm willing to try any ROM, but both builds have been out for some time now and most users experience greater stability with EB01, not to mention there are known bugs in DL30 that were resolved in EB01.
I - and I'm sure a lot of the people in the community - just want to know what your reasons for choosing DL30 are. No one is bashing you or upset, I just would genuinely like to know your reasons for choosing DL30 over EB01.

i tested both stock roms for a abt a week
3 days eb01
3 days dl30
i found dl30 more stable, (as per reported by my testers) i dont own fascinate, i develop for epic.
my testing are going on with them. for some reason if this crashes or anything report bugs
i will make proper arrangements for fixes.
i m not pissed of by ur question. i will take eb15 which is out with some developers will look at that as well will give it to my testers. if they report eb15 better than dl30 i will shift to eb15 with this rom.
A days have passed with this rom with testers and they like it, so it was ready for release.

It is always good to have more devs help out with the phone. Stop by IRC and meet the others
Your works is much appreciated but maybe you should post both roms based on DL30 and EB01 to let us test them out. I don't doubt you that DL30 was less buggier but I want to see how this rom runs when it's based on EB01. THANKS!!!
Hello,
Initial starting point for some of my kernel hacking on the G900T. I mostly needed Permissive SELinux support for some other projects, but I will be making some enhancements to this kernel in time as well. However, for the moment please consider this release for engineers only.
SecureStorage must be disabled *before flashing* this (or any) custom kernel. Failure to do so will cause many issues.
Edit /system/build.prop:
Code:
ro.securestorage.support=false
Clear caches and reboot. However, once you do this, you will lose many settings to things like SHealth, possibly wifi credentials, and maybe other system/Samsung apps. Backup and restore with a root app will not work. Do not try it. You'll still be able to use these apps, however, you'll just have to set them up again.
Features
Insecure
Root adbd
Runtime downgrade SELinux (Permissive)
Notes
Includes all features in the stock kernel (exfat, etc.)
Will cause your boot screen to show an SEAndroid warning message upon boot, though you can safely ignore it.
Known issues
None

None as long as long you modify the build.prop as described.
Are there any benefits (that a user would notice) to SELinux being permissive?
Can't wait for future updates ;]

Considering you seem to be the only other person working on building a new kernel at the moment, I'm looking to you for some advice.
I'm building my own kernel also (eventually for booting Ubuntu Desktop or Touch on the S5), but I seem to have run into a small glitch. I'm building straight from the ANCD source (no modifications yet), and my kernel boots fine so far. However, USB (MTP) doesn't seem to work with my kernel installed. There may be some other funky things going on also (e.g. some apps that interact with hardware have an extreme lag, WiFi takes longer to become available...), but I haven't fully tested everything yet.
Can you tell me whether you used the provided "build_msm8974pro_kernel.sh" script or not? Either way, can you provide any helpful tips for building this kernel? The last one I built was for Android 4.1 on the S4.
If you don't wish to respond here, please send me a PM. Thanks!

Internation Kernel Bad Idea? Can you add fast Charge?
My only reason I use other kernels is fast charge, im sure that other kernels have benifits, but im one of those modders who likes to stay close to stock. Im actually dieng for a GE s5 for true samsung AOSP, but anyway, i was wondering, i beleive there is any easily applyable *to kernel makers not me* patch by somebody named chad something chad009 i think, that can add a fast charge ability. I miss being able to get 1.9A on wall and 1A on PC.... whats the point in Sammy giving us a nice 2A USB 3.0 charger if they seem to have limited charge to 1A.... Really makes a difference especially since I will be getting Zero Lemon battery, which just FYI is on preorder on amazon for 50$... bit pricey, im gona wait till it comes out and maybe a hyperion model to see if that drives down price, but i wont wait long as they probably know, i miss 7800Mah battery power, s5 does have good battery utilization so far ive found, tho its only been a few days for ! Cheers
Thanks
PS: if I find an internation kernel with FC can I use it? Im pretty sure our hardware is the same, the only difference is Radios, but thats seperate, and Im sure i could find TMOs Radio.

And has Fast Charge been implemented in any of them. Probably my only complaint is forgetting to plug into AC when going to bed, instead of leaving connected to my desktop USB, which is painfully slow on charging.

Now i'm here for report (sorry for my awful english ) the word of Hugo Ibarra that confirm the release of MI3 source later this year. And i like to add that xiaomi already release source for mi2 and mi2s.

lol, that's exactly why I wasn't willing to buy this device.
There are already plenty of threads on miui forums complaining about lack of kernel source.
Before the launch of this device in India, I was almost convinced to buy Moto G by my fellow members from galaxy y section.
But the specs were too good to ignore given the same price group.
When I saw that reply, this came out of my mouth:
hey, better late than never.
It's simply disheartening to see that a device as powerful as this being forced to use sole miui rom(or its cooked version).
I haven't tried cm11, but from what i've heard, people are loving it.
One of the developers(varun chhitre) of cm11 for this device has prior experience dealing with micromax(another non compliant oem).
If/When kernel sources get out, I hope this device gets developer support.

Ill be honest. Dont count on it. Most Devs have a very big hate for them and no matter how good the hardware is will not touch the device until it comes clean.
Oh he and I know each other well from my attempts to help with the Micromax issue.
Better late than never. Still they hardly have cared about gpl. Releasing sources, after they release new device.

For now I am just building and releasing unofficial builds. Official builds will come eventually.
Saved for later
I just installed the ROM and it's really smooth! It's hard to notice any lag at all and the camera works fine.. Battery is draining a little too fast though.
I'm gonna stay on thus ROM for today and report tonight its 2:10 pm in where I'm at.
Where is the download link?.... OK I found it ?this is the best rom I used on s2 let see how it goes on d855
I just found out that pre-installed (in developer settings) Root don't work, apps think that root has been allowed but it really isn't. And after installin SuperSu it says that it can't install it's binaries.. Its not a big problem but just so y'all know its there

I just installed the ROM and it's really smooth! It's hard to notice any lag at all and the camera works fine.. Battery is draining a little too fast though.
I'm gonna stay on thus ROM for today and report tonight its 2:10 pm in where I'm at.

Don't judge battery based on the first day of ise after install. The battery life is always abit meh after a brand new install. Let it settle [emoji14]

Good to see that my favourite ROM started to support my phone. :highfive:
@acardinal
Tyvm for this, I ran your builds on my g2 almost exclusively.
Been running this for about 17hrs and its running great.
I don't have any root issues as previously stated, but I always flash the su zip after any ROM.
The hotspot always shows no connected devices, other than that everything is running smooth without issue.
Thanks
Is there any plan for Korean variants? Thanks!
Can I ask how's Camera Quality on this rom?
Specially shutter speed and pictures quality under low light. On vacations right now so can't download and flash myself but looking forward to it.

All aosp etc cams are basically the same. There OK, but if your looking for near stock quality, its not going to come in a custom ROM.
Some of us are running the moto cam, which seems a bit better than the aosp cam, but still a good bit off stock.
Its just the way it is until someone figures out how to port the stock cam to aosp, which may never happen.

I don't want to derail this thread too much with cam talk, but to sum things up, I took some identical shots with the moto cam, camera 51 from the play store, and the one you posted.
Moto cam was without doubt the worst.
Your cam and cam 51 were nearly identical, but I think cam 51 was very slightly better in a mixed lighting condition, which I believe is where a lot of the non stock cams fail to keep up that's why I chose this as a test. I was sitting under light with light at my back shooting towards a dimly lit area.
I actually just found the cam 51 last night, so I haven't been able to test it thoroughly yet, but it looks very promising, as does yours.
Thanks

Forgot to mention, it appears that apps with a persistent notification don't seem to survive a reboot. Such as gsam and llama. It appears that they are still performing as intended, just the notification is gone.
Thanks

This is not my camera. It is ported from LG G2 and has same quality as stock G3 camera. You can find it in LG G2 thems and apps section. All credit to the developer who ported it.

EDIT: Flashed all ok and no issues so far, thanks!!!
can sprint use this
Glad to see you join the U11 game @flar2 !
Good times, glad to see advanced color control and s2s.
@flar2
do you think me random lightsensor issues (sometimes working, sometimes not) could be kernelrelated? if yes I'd like to flash ElementalX and try my luck
glad u here @flar2
Been using your kernel manager while I wait for your kernel to be released. Glad to see you on this device.
Hey @flar2. Was hoping to see you here pretty soon Lol, I had already loaded Button Mapper on my U11
Hey flar, got another profile for ya whenever you get a chance.
dual sim version supported ?
Oh, boy, @flar2 is on the U11 now. I have been wavering back and forth on the "do I sell my 10 and buy a U11 or not" and this is tipping me towards the new device again......

Well, I've been using the device for a few months now, and it's always in a case. I understand the torture test they subject the device to, but I've had a cell phone for more than 20 years and I've never once sat on it, bent it, or any of the stuff they do. Yeah, I drop them on rare occasions, but they're always in cases. The worst tragedy ever was self-inflected, on a Rezound. Dropped the damn thing while bending over my sump pump. Immediately grabbed it and pulled the battery but it was too late.
Now at least they're mostly waterproof so that wouldn't recur. The U11's I've used are solid, and these are preproduction units anyway.

Lol, yeah. I think unless you're the Hulk you don't have too much to worry about. This thing feels at least as solid as my 10 did...and if you think about all the guts inside you'd have to bend along with the case....yeah not too worried.

All I know is when I tried to flash magisk after this kernel it failed and told me to replace it with the stock image.
