OC1 firmware, unlocked/rooted.
I had been having trouble getting data connectivity with PagePlus and had been messing with APN settings. Finally, I got data connectivity and everything seemed to be working fine after I went into the testing menu via the dialer (*#*#4636#*#*) and set the radio band to auto. Then, I wanted to upgrade from 4.4.4, I flashed a new Slim ROM. Once that process completed and I booted, my connectivity was completely gone. Before I was only having trouble with data, but now even when I try to make a phone call it says "No mobile network available."
I've tried changing things in the testing menu, adjusting APN settings, and I even did a full wipe and flashed back to 4.4.4, but nothing I've done has worked. I tried the SIM card in an old S3 and I can make calls and text, but no data.
I've spent the entire day researching and trying different things, but I'm at a loss now. I'm probably going to buy a newer phone anyway, but I'd still like to troubleshoot this one. I'm just wondering if somehow I fried the radio or something?
Thanks!

So just as the title says, a few days ago my data just stopped working. it will show H+, but it won't have the bars underneath or anything. I literally try everything, and sometimes it works and then just disappears again.
I got so frustrated today with it that I flashed down to 1.5.7 then OTA'd to 1.8.3 and guess what..it's still doing it!
Another frustrating thing about it is that I can't receive pictures or anything. I'm very close to going back to my iphone 4. Has this been happening to anyone else?
i have this problem too and like you i tried everything with fail.
maybe it's your apn settings?
i've reset them twice, and it still doesn't do anything. i'm ready to just exchange it out
this happened when i ****ed up my APN settings.
go to you APN list and then make sure that AT&T US is selected. Wait till it connects to the AT&T cell tower and then restart your phone.
Thats what worked for me.
This is happening to me too, I don't know what else to do I've done almost everything I can, I even restored to factory settings only to find out it would wipe all of my APN settings (I thought it would set them to default, but it just erased everything)
I've now set the APN settings but it still doesn't connect to my data plan. I'm really running out of options, I'm really frustrated.
i have att us hsdpa selected. i'll try just doing att us
What is your baseband? .07P? Or .15P?

I've had this issue...baseband .15P
I'm on the fido network in Canada, it doesn't matter which APN I use
.15. i'm going back to att soon to just exchange it out and hope that fixes it
edit - yep gave me a new phone/sim, still can't access the market from data or receive/send pictures. I'm stumped
well I ended up switching back to my iphone 4, still have my atrix just isn't active.
turns out that I was missing a feature that would have given me full data access vs limited.

Alright, I rooted my phone and installed CM7 about 3 months ago, and had no problems ever until recently. My phone started force closing the messaging system and my media system. Then, I restarted my phone and it got stuck on the Vibrant screen, before the skateboarding CM7 android. I ended up flashing my phone back to the Samsung Vibrant T-959 stock using ODIN, but since I have Cincinnati Bell, I had to use T-Mobile's stock. My phone works perfectly fine except one thing... I DON'T HAVE DATA! I can't get online or access the market... It says I have no internet connection. Can anyone help me?
If there is something out there that I can use thats better than this T-Mobile stock software, please let me know... I'm open to anything at this point. I just want something stable and clean.
This sounds like the problem I have everytime I flash a Froyo ROM of any sort: I lose my APN.
You can check to see if that happened to you by going to Wireless, Mobile Networks, and checking to see if any APN is needed. If it says something along the lines of "Enter New APN?" or some such (I'm on MIUI at the moment so can't be exact), then your APN got wiped. Cincinnati Bell lists the correct APNs for the Vibrant on their website.

Go there, and enter both the WAP and MMS APNs, selecting the WAP one. Also, to curb another common problem, don't enter a Proxy for the WAP. It causes major browser slowdown and you data works just fine if not better without it.
did u try....
Taking the sim card out? Had the same problem, I took the sim out and put back... problem solved.try that
Hey, I'm having the same problem. Mine shows that I am connected and have full bars with 3G or H access. However, when I try to use the browser, gmail, market or any other app requiring data, it says that it fails to connect. I've been struggling with this for a couple of days now. I've already tried removing the sim card and resetting everything. Any help would be awesome, thanks!
Interesting problem that I suddenly have after installing rom. First I have been installing just about every rom has come for the last 6 months. Today I installed latest Carbon ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2310695 today and it installed ok, but upon booting for the first time, it got stuck the setup right at the beginning where I press the language (English). It just sat there and didn't do anything. I tried reinstalled the rom, and it did the same thing.
So I assumed a had a bad download, so I went to restore my daily driver backup rom (Zone sense 4 rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2116509). But now I have no mobile data or mobile connection at all. I get a triangle next to the bars and whenever I restart phone I get this message "Global data roman access is allowed. Significantly higher charges may apply". I have never seen that before.
I have tried removing sim, toggling all mobile network options (CDMA, global, roaming, etc.) and I still get no connection at all. Any ideas here? I am on Verizon.

Thanks. I did that and it worked. Any thoughts on how to avoid that in future aosp roms? Did I do something wrong or is it totally random?

Its apparently random. I've had it happen twice, once back non CM10 when it just got RIL going, and a build ago on Carbon.
I'm going through this right now. I rru'd and can connect to 3g and use the data but no texts and when I try to make a call I end up with a Verizon message saying my number is inactive. Everything works fine on my backup phone. So its not a problem with Verizon
Edit... I'm going to ruu again and factory reset before booting because I think I remember seeing that posted at some point

EDIT 2.... re rru'd still having problems it will not make calls and will get 3g data when set to roaming which it seems to be on with the triangle above the signal.
anyone know the Verizon apn's i only have verizon internet in my apn list.
Edit 3 All fixed. i was factory resetting in stock recovery to no avail but a factory reset in sense itself worked
Can anyone offer any suggestions here? I recently tried upgrading my wife's phone from stock LG to Illusion....and everything went great, except for the fact that no matter what I do, the cellular network name (Verizon Wireless in this case obviously) will never populate. For clarification - everything works, data, calls, etc. but no carrier name is ever seen in the quick settings tiles as shown, and in settings > about phone > status the network simply says "Unknown". I personally have the exact same phone, same 23B modem, same identical setup in every way, and yet mine for some reason shows Verizon Wireless all the time just perfectly fine.
I'm at my wits end...and my OCD is killing me on this one! I've tried dirty flashing, full clean flashing, with and without wiping the internal storage, flashing the 10B, 11C, and 12B modems back and forth as well, tried re-flashing the 23B modem obviously, tried adjusted the global vs. LTE settings, played with the APN's, normal and soft reboots, install of a CM12 nightly for comparison, let the initial phone setup go through solely on mobile data, even fully tot'ing back to 10B and repeating everything again in an attempt to fix! Can anyone offer any possible help or suggestions here? They would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!
I did the build number Darklord N5 (looking at settings), Kernal 3.4.0 Kernal now I only have data for a few min then it say's no data connection? It's a Sprint Note 3 and still using Sprint. But the model number no longer says SM-900P and now says SM-9020C. The file I used was DarkLordN5.RC2.1.SamsungViet.vn Sorry I'm a little new to this but I do tend to follow directions well.
It's like Sprint lets me have data and then see's something it doesn't like about the mod and shuts off my data. It always works at first then goes away within 5 min and says no data connection and roaming is turned off. And if I get data again will I still have LTE? So far I just saw 3G when it was working.
Other than that I love the update but I can't do without mobile data! Please help. I've looked everywhere I could think of on here and it's been almost two weeks without data.
Thanks!
Jim
Bump??? Please help???

That rom is kinda old and has bugs. If you want to use the latest note 5 port, I recommend http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...-base-n9200zcu2apa1-stablefast-31-01-t3308842
It's based off the last version of darklord's rom and tweaked/fixed it's issues like youtube lag...
It's tricky to get data from it. I use Ringplus so it might work without tinkering with sprint natively.
Just install rom normally, with SPR csc, and see if you get data like that.
If it doesn't here's what I did:
I had to install it with the XAS csc (the SPR csc won't let me change apn's but you're free to try). I then switch radio to cdma or anything else until the apn settings show up AND can be edited in Mobile Networks settings(LTE radio won't me edit). Then I delete all apn's because it won't use the custom ringplus apn i put in by default(yes, I choose it and it still won't use it). Once i'm all done, i set radio back to "cdma/gsm/lte" to get back lte/cdma data (for some reason the "cdma/lte" setting won't work for me). I used app's to get me to the radio and apn settings. There's a few out just take your pick.
Might take some trial and error to get the apn's to show up but in the end i have zero issues with data. good luck.
Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I was wondering if it was old. But being pretty new to this I'm going to have to do some research to try to digest all you said! Although yesterday I did successfully replace the screen/chassis of my old Note 3 which required switching over many components. Now just waiting on a new power on switch. So I'll be back.....
