Android 6.0 Marshmallow for tab 4 SM-T530NU - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have been looking for the instructions for upgrading my Tab 4 to either Marshmallow or Nougat. I have found so much information it is mind boggling. My problem is , all the links to the files are gone or there are no instructions.
My Samsung Tab 4 (SM-T530NU) is rooted on Android 5.0.2 with TWRP 3.0 for a recovery. Does anyone know where I can find the proper instructions and files to this update? I dont know which would run better on my Tab, Marshmallow or Nougat ?
But I am open to advise and suggestions.
Thank you for your time,
Scotty

I did find a Unofficial Marshmallow 6.0 ROM but every time I try to fash it with TWRP, I get ERROR:7. Anyone ever run across that problem or have a fix for that ?

I too am looking to upgrade my SM-T530NU to Marshmellow...did you get any success?

No, I never got any happiness either. I an in the same boat as you are.

Did you try the rom in this post?

No, I did not, sounded like to many problems not worked out at that time. Hope that helps

Mokee android L for z7 mini

Hi,
i was using Mokee 4.4.4 and since a few weeks I'm using Mokee 5.0.2
It is a rom like CM12 but with some customization, not as many as AOKP but still more than in CM12
It is multilangual and as stable as cm12
It was updated recently : http://www.yirom.com/rom/index/344
did someone already download it ? If yes is it possible to upload it somewhere else like mega ?
Thank you in advance
I'm running the 23/3 version of Mokee 5.02 as of a few hours. So far so good!
Does dual sim works well?
And battery consumption is similar to 4.4.4 RC7?
Did you detected any bugs?
Is it stable enough for a daily device?

I'm using the previous version (1st march) and I used it daily
i don't use 2 sim cards.
I had 1 reboot (not a wished, it was because of a crash) in nearly one month

The previous version dual SIM worked very well. I'll know if the dual SIM will work well for the new version later this week as I will be travelling.
Yes I'm using it for a daily work phone as I rely on it. Thou I have my ultra-stable iPhone 6 as my personal phone/backup :victory:
can someome upload it ?
EDIT: Someone post a mirror in other topic
I used this one : http://www.gamefront.com/files/24894999/MK50.2-nx507j-201503230233-UNOFFICIAL.zip
I think I get more spontaneous reboots with this new version than with the last version. However, it could be due to the memory leak issue all Android Lollipop phones have and isn't fixed until 5.1
Hoping to see Mokee 5.02 upgrade soon to 5.1 and integrate native dual SIM support...
Hello, I like the mokee rom,
If you have the file MK50.2 or more, please post it !

This has been confirmed in several posts on some of the Chinese bbs. Apparently, someone has released a temporary fix; although, I haven't tried it yet. I agree, I'm having the same problem. Additionally, it vibrates for everything. I currently have it set to vibrate only on phone and SMS, yet it does for everything and I cannot find out how to make it stop.

I didn't noticed this kind of error
but I admit this is because of my config => my phone does not vibrate and it is my xiaomi MiBand who vibrate for specific notifications
does anybody have a custom recovery that works with android 5.0 on z7 mini.
I have stock 5.0 installed and wanted to flash the newest mokee. but when i want to make a backup through the old mokee cwm, but it always says "cant mount data".I would thing thats because of the changed partitions.
Anyway, is there any (non-chinese) recovery that i can use with stock 5.0?

Here in the z7 mini rom thread on post 781 (top) is a link to TWRP 2.8.5.0. However, I don't know if the new mokee works after flashing the nubia version of 5.0 because I don't think (someone can correct me) the mokee uses unified storage yet. Can someone verify this?
Thanks, trying TWRP right now.
So anybody knows if i can flash Mokee 5.02 after flashing Offical 5.0 with the new kind of partitions?

I did not tried it right now as i'm still discoverng this android 5 by nubia...
i just tried it 1 min and can already say that I may switch to mokee soon (I'll try the nubia rom 1 week I guess..)
the UI feels slow
I don't like the nubia theme
and beside of that, the French translation f(cuoco92 rom) is partial and canadian only (other timezone, other clock format, other keyboard layout...)
nubia's rom seems more unstable than mokee (from the first comments I read on cuoco92 facebook page)
it is also very BIG (double the size...)
If you are afraid of bricking the phone, you can also use the stupid chinese tool to install again kitkat on the phone, then install again mokee
but i guess (not sure !!!! ) that it should be possible to install mokee without doing this pain in the ass trick :/

No, you cannot. See this thread on the Nubia forum. CM12 and Mokee are still technically considered 4.4 because they do not use the unified storage. You will most likely brick the phone if you attempt to flash it. You have to first use the Nubia updater to go back to at least 1.82, then you can use CM12 or Mokee.

Complete noob, getting a Le Max 2

Hey all,
I've just ordered a Le Max 2 from some mob in China. When it arrives in 2021 I hope to install a clean Oreo rom.
The problem is I'm new to all this jazz. I can follow a walkthrough successfully, and without killing the cat etc, but I don't know which walkthrough/guide to follow!
Is there a stock Oreo rom for the Le Max 2? Is 'stock' the right word here? I mean from Android/Google.
If not, is the Lineage rom ok?
I just want a clean phone, no crap installed, higher version of Android the better.
Also, I noticed a firmware page. Do I have to update my firmware first? Or after Rom installs?
thanks all

Hey. Welcome to the group.
There's no stock ROM for Oreo. We only have EUI 5.8/5.9 (Marshmallow). Lineage is okay, but as of now Oreo custom ROMs have bugs. One is low mic volume in calls, another is that you can't use Slow Motion Mode in modded GCam. In a new Oreo Custom ROM (Dirty Unicorn) it has GPS and Fingerprint bug, not sure about low mic volume but the Slow Motion Mode bug is still there (because of OSS HALs)
I suggest you flash Nougat if you want minimal bugs.
I think Marshmallow custom ROMs have no bugs at all (someone confirm) but the security patch is old.
You don't have to be on latest stock ROM, just flash the latest TWRP and start flashing ROMs.
Good luck!

Use google my friend flashing roms and learning about adb and fastboot is quite fun (well for me it is ). It's quite straight forward, you just need to have the proper software and drivers.
Lineage rom is good, it's updated quite frequently and most of the time has minimal bugs. go with nougat as my colleague suggested. Also i think it's ok to stay with just stock firmware Eui is quite nice i guys.
Just remember to backup everything and save it in a safe place before trying something for the first time If you are afraid of doing something and want a quick answer you can PM me, i will try to answer asap

What I can say from my personal experience. First, stock EUi is a crap. Also, abandoned, since LeEco company does not exist anymore. Second, 7.1 or 8.1? I would recommend Lineage 15.1 (Oreo 8.1). It's most stable for me. I found any other rom based on Lineage more buggy than stock Lineage 14.1 is stable too, but why to choose older Android?
Install procedure is pretty easy. You need to unlock bootloader, flash twrp, then flash rom + gapps, that's all.
BTW as you can see, there may be many opinions. But it's not risky to test various custom roms and choose the one that is the best for you. Don't hestitate to try many roms, it's not a pain at all. Actually, it's a fun.

I had my t-mobile Samsung galaxy note 4 on stock 6.0.1 marshmallow ROM and then I flashed the official resurrection remix Oreo 8.1 ROM for trlte. After doing that, I found that WiFi direct had stopped working and also game audio started lagging, distorting and echoing.
Please tell me why this is happening and if anybody knows the fix for it, Please help me out. Thank you.
Don't Worry.

You seem to be familiar with the concept of flashing and incase Knowing the Threats so,I assume you have a Backup of previous ROM.Ressurection Remix has Stable ROMs for Other that AT&T and T-Mobile Devices due to the SoC.They are Very Unstable Builds and Don't Work. The Problem to all Wifi Related devices is a Binary File called bcm_dhd.bin or Others that need to be Compiled or replaced from Other Versions which Sometimes don't Work.
Firstly Inform The Devolpers of the ROM about this and Post it on their Form.Don't be a N00B and attach a Debug report.
Secondly Restore the previous version.Gain root access and Look for a Few files in System/Etc/Wifi named .bin at end copy them all and Paste them on the 8.1 ROM with same folder location and Permissions.Hopefuly This solves the Issue But if it don't then revert. And Next Time if you can't cope with a Few Bugs then don't flash a Custom ROM.8.1 is still Unstable and is Recieving Updates People are Working hard and in Time we will have a Rock Stable Setup.Happy Flashing.

I was doing some messing around with my Galaxy Note 4 and came accross the Odin files for the SM-N910A. So far the phone runs WAY cooler with this ROM and performance is exceptionally smooth, So much so that I wanted to share it with the community. I have lightly debloated it and will add more details and a heavily debloated version very soon.
ROM has been built for my SM-N910V (I use it on ATT network) Rom may work on other snapdragon variants but have not tested on Verizon or Sprint Service.
Happy Flashing,

We've hit a new low if you cant read the opening post and figure that out
But to shorten the war by several years, it clearly says that he found the files for the 910A and then made a version for his 910V
It also clearly says ODIN, which is how you flash it
Using latest ODIN from here
Its also worth mentioning you've replied and revived a topic thats over 2 years old and no one ever tested or got involved in
The ROM is very old...i would use a more recent ROM from the first 5 or 6 active topics in this thread (lineageOS 16/XenonHD/Havoc etc) , they will have far more recent security updates etc than that old untested thing, and you will get some form of support for them, you wont with this, you will be unlikely to get any assistance with it

Since youre using the 910A, i thought you might be on the 910V, you might be more limited to the ROM's available and may want to ignore my suggestion of using the later ROM's i suggested....im sorry i dont know much about the 910A enough to direct you to a better ROM
Maybe this is the best ROM choice for you being on the 910A
Perhaps another 910A owner can make a suggestion or someone with more experience
Will it work on n910g if i flash kernel for it.
This ROM works on the Verizon Note 4? N910v? I've been meaning to mine a debloated ROM for my note 4 since, stock marshmallow is so laggy.
i installed my N910v verizon ,but no good cant open wifi button

I have also been trying to flash my SM-105FN for a few days now. These guidelines seem to work for select devices.
Perhaps devices with different firmware allow other ROMs to run whilst other's don't, including firmware versions where Samsung may of changed something with their bootloader etc during updates. It might be useful to collect some information for those who where successful in flashing SM-105FN to find out what firmware they used to get their ROM working.
