I have also been trying to flash my SM-105FN for a few days now. These guidelines seem to work for select devices.
Perhaps devices with different firmware allow other ROMs to run whilst other's don't, including firmware versions where Samsung may of changed something with their bootloader etc during updates. It might be useful to collect some information for those who where successful in flashing SM-105FN to find out what firmware they used to get their ROM working.

[Q] Android Devices Currently Not Supported By Cyanogenmod

Hello Guys,
Could anyone please provide some info about this case:
o What are my options if I have an Android device (smartphone) not supported by CyanogenMod?
o Is there anything than waiting until my model will be added to the supported list? I bought a very simple and reasonably priced "no-name" phone (Simvalley SP-2X.SLIM), and I learn now one disadvantage is that it is not supported.
o I also did not find anything about rooting, flashing or even booting it up into safe mode / recovery.
Any help and info is very much appreciated.

Well, here it is straight forward, your device only gets official support if the Cyanogenmod teams deems the unofficial build for it stable and reliable to gain official support. If there isn't any unofficial builds then it's safe to say that it will never have official support. As for rooting the device there may be methods for it available, a universal root for example, flashing as in roms and other things, no clue, never heard of that device before and there might not be any support for it either. So with that being said, hope this helps you.

Hi Yoelpro,
Thanks for your info. Since my first post I have managed to root my device - was very happy. It was not too easy, given that it is extremely minimal supported. I already tried TWRP with GooManager, but when I try to install an open recovery sript, surprise surprise: "no recoveries were found for your device".
Any ideas if there is another way to find one and copy it on the phone? I have to confess being too scared even trying to flash a custom ROM without flashing a backup first. I managed to find out that the stock ROM is a Vanilla on my Simvalley SP-2X.SLIM.
Thank you.

Hey there Critical Detox
Thanks for your info. Since my first post I have managed to root my device: Simvalley SP-2X.SLIM - was very happy to see that it is working.
Unfortunately, I could not even find an unofficial CM build, I'm quite sure that an official build does not exist. Interestingly, my device was once perfectly recognized as SP-2X.SLIM and once recognised as HTC (for drivers) during the rooting. I'm very curious IF or AS WHAT my device would be recognized if I started the one click install of CM. I might be a chicken, but a careful chicken as I don't want to do it before saving a backup of the stock ROM to my SD card first. When I try to install an open recovery sript (GooManager), surprise surprise: "no recoveries were found for your device". I managed to find out that the stock ROM on my device is a Vanilla 4.2.2 but could I not find this ROM to download yet.
Any help is very welcome, as I am not quite an expert and my phone is a quasi no-name model.
Cheers,
schmayer

Android 6.0 Marshmallow for tab 4 SM-T530NU

I have been looking for the instructions for upgrading my Tab 4 to either Marshmallow or Nougat. I have found so much information it is mind boggling. My problem is , all the links to the files are gone or there are no instructions.
My Samsung Tab 4 (SM-T530NU) is rooted on Android 5.0.2 with TWRP 3.0 for a recovery. Does anyone know where I can find the proper instructions and files to this update? I dont know which would run better on my Tab, Marshmallow or Nougat ?
But I am open to advise and suggestions.
Thank you for your time,
Scotty
I did find a Unofficial Marshmallow 6.0 ROM but every time I try to fash it with TWRP, I get ERROR:7. Anyone ever run across that problem or have a fix for that ?
I too am looking to upgrade my SM-T530NU to Marshmellow...did you get any success?
No, I never got any happiness either. I an in the same boat as you are.

Install a secured phone custom rom

Hi,
My question is as the subject? Is there any good guides for making a rog phone version 1 with android 9 to be a classified as a secured phone.
Mostly functions that is not necessery will be removed on the phone. Is there any roms you can get tips on? This is testing so, is there any rom that is compatible to Asus rog phone version 1?
Newest stock rom is installed and boot loader is open. Im not the best person at phones and that but can get a given hand when its needed. But im asking you fellows first to choose a custom rom or OS.
The source code and kernel are open to download on asus website maybe we can get a dev or someone can take a crack at making a custom Ron maybe even get 10 . I see no reason other then the phone not being as popular

Best ROMS for my device Huawei p20 lite(ANE-LX1 - Kirin SoC)?

Hi all,
I have unlocked my device and is currently running LineageOS 16 from OpenKirin. There are a few things which does not work, like the camera app that comes with the OS as well as the notch, where icons goes beyond the notch. Someone suggested I try the OpenKirin Rom and that is how I got that specific ROM on my device.
I was wondering are there maybe other ROMS for this device? Like the one's mentioned in the article below?
https://www.getdroidtips.com/best-custom-rom-huawei-p20-lite/
It took me a long while to get everything running on this device, Magisk and EdXposed. So I just don't want to go and wipe my OS just to try 4 ROMS that does not work. Sure you have app backup for that but it would mean doing everything over almost on the device.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also I am rather new to custom ROMS so please bear with me!

There is nothing like perfect Custom ROM. It is highly dependent upon the requirement of the user and his likes/dislikes. Every ROM has its importance and downsides. You can try flashing multiple ROMs to find the ROM which is suitable and best for you. There is no Custom ROM that is 100% bug free (it depends, among other things, on model, FW built number etc. etc.).
If you don’t prefer EMUI,* choose Havoc OS , AOSP Extended or LineageOS.
If you "hate" Google and Google's bloatware (like me ) only, you can simply rebrand your phone to chinese Nova 3e (among other things, better battery life, lower data consumption etc.)
Or, choose Custom ROM based on Stock with KangVip settings ( to get away from GAPPS) , stable enough to be used as your daily driver.
Availability of custom ROMs for Kirin devices is scarce.

Hi,
No i have not tried one of the recommended in that list i provided. It took me a very long time to get the phone unlocked! Then more bricks, soft and hard through the process :crying:
Magisk was not as hard to install but EdXposed was, and I also got my device stuck on a boot loop trying to get EdXposed to run. So yeah I took me a while to get it working.

If I currently have LineageOS 16 (Aug 2020 ver) can I use the AB partition? I presume so because the Android version currently is 9. I am looking to try HavocOS.
Thank you Alf man you have helped me a lot with all my questions!

AB or A-only depend on EMUI version : 9.1 = AB, 8.0 = A-only.
Good luck!

Don't bother trying any one of those ROMs listed in that post. I wasted a whole day trying to flash a ROM specified by that website. Look specifically for ROMs on XDA website.
I get more help here, and it has been tested already on our devices.

Check fail (bootloader) Device 7 Binary 6

I'm using the SM-A505FN version but yesterday in sammobile firmware list, I saw that on SM-A505F One UI 3.0 already available so that I try to install the version but I didn't know that it will give me huge trouble. While installing in Odin stuck for 1 hour. Then I realize maybe it's a version difference. So reboot the device and then I saw this error.
I saw a few forum posts that if I flash again with Odin it will be solved but it won't. Because those ( SM-A505F ) versions changed my kernel from 6 to 7, Now I can't install any downgrade firmware and my phone stuck at this error. When I try to install the regular firmware it's giving me another error which is " Check fail (bootloader) Device 7 Binary 6 " Now I can't install anything. Is there any way to solve this problem until One UI 3.0 hasn't released for my model? Like using TWRP or any custom recovery?
Hi, ma friend!
Try to flash the latest firmware for your device model and region, but load only AP, CP and CSC files by skipping the BL (bootloader - leave it blank).
Device 7 binary 6. Means no, your device bootloader is newer than your package/binary your attempting to install. I don't know how to fix that. I've heard of cracked versions of Odin that won't do version checking for some devices but I never got one to work because the phone rejects it, not Odin. Maybe if you had a backup of the entire phone you could dd the entire nand. I think your best bet is trying different roms with One UI 3.1. Good luck.
There is Android 11 with One UI 3.1 update for FN models in Poland (XEO). You can download it and flash it. I've already done it.
Idem lo stesso problema, non fa tornare indietro

What are you going to do? If you are about to use Odin flash tool, the only thing is needed is entering download mode of your Samsung device.

I want to go back to Android 9, currently my A50 is using Android 11, which is binary 7 and Android 9 is binary 5.
I want to use Odin. You said to just deselect the bootloader installation, so I don't need to activate either USB debugging or OEM unlocking?

I don't think it is possible for now. After updating to Android 11, the bootloader won't let you install any ROM below Android 11. You can downgrade by installing a custom rom using custom recovery like TWRP.

I'm not sure if this will downgrade your device. There is a chance your device not to boot up after installing custom ROM with lower Android version. Give it a try and write us back.

My phone model is SM-A505GT, it looks like this ROM was not made for this model.
I'm going to search ROMs for my phone model. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.
