Is there a software like iTunes for Android? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I wanted to know if there was a computer software out there somewhere that would allow me to view and arrange my apps on my phone like you can do with iTunes with an Apple device?

You can do this if you have a HTC Phone with HTC Sync Manager

[Q] New Google Music 3.0.336

I just came across this just now. According to Droid Life, there is a new google music apk when the test market was accidently released. I was curious if anyone has gotten sync to work? Possibly using titanium to remove the HTC music app then installing the new google music apk? I'm currently tied up at work and school and unable to test this out.

Look over in the development forum. I posted a copy of the leaks. The music app works without uninstalling anything.
Thanks!

Under Accounts & sync, click Google. You should now have a 'Sync Music' option.
I tried this last night and never really got it to work properly. I have like 10 gigs of music on my phone and it continued to sync all night and through today. I finally chose to shut off the sync option and run with what's on my phone. Not like I'm running out of room with this monster sd card lol. I'll let them get it officially up and running first. I just clicked on the instructions link in the other thread. They're easy to follow, all seemed to go smooth. Dunno. Maybe it does work, and I should have chose to test with just a few songs instead.

AppBrain ?!

does someone was able to sync apps from phone with Appbrain? me not! any hint? thanks in advance
I got it to work...
So, I installed Appbrain on both my Evo and Flyer under the same email address. Sync both devices to Appbrain.
When i log on to appbrain.com, both the Flyer and Evo are listed as my devices. I click on my Evo and place checkmarks next to all the apps I want to copy over to my Flyer.
Then, I click on Add to List and select my My Flyer.
Once done, sync your Flyer to Appbrain and presto! You can execute your installs. Mind you, if the app cannot run on this version of Android, it will not install nor show up in your list for the Flyer.
Still doesn't work. Is showing sync, but it doesn't... I' ll try another version

Hi,
Did you properly sign in on AppBrain in the app first? Are you using the default browser (some alternative browsers cannot handle the Android intent model properly and prevent you from signing in).
yes! I use default browser!
L.E. ....aaaaaaa ok. Thanks bro! I got it! I fix it. My mistake: on computer I sign in with google account, and in my device I create another account.

Double Twist

Downloaded Double Twist for Mac. Installed it successfully.
Goal is to transfer iTunes music to my DNA.
Then I plug in my phone to my Mac and see a prompt to download HTC SYNC.
Download appears complete and successful.
But....I cannot find the HTC Sync app installed on my phone. Anywhere.
Somehow I missed a step or setting on my phone?
Where is the download for HTC Sync app?
Any help would be much appreciated.

the HTC sync can either be downloaded from the HTC website or if you open up a file explorer on your computer, you should see a 'disc' for the htc sync app when you plug in your phone.

Yes.....it is there.
But after I download HTC sync to my phone from the HTC site.....it is not on the phone.
The download for some reason does not transfer to the phone.
I know that there is a very simple answer as to why I am not getting the download.
I'm so confused.... Just use Google music. 20,000 songs per Gmail account completely free.

Don't like to start a post and if I get an answer somewhere else just never follow up.
Somebody (non intuitive like myself) might be curious as to the answer.
After being here a bit I realize that this forum is not for the 'beginner'.
At any rate for anyone who might care about this query the simple answer is to forget Double Twist and Music Manager etc. etc. and just download an app called "Easy Phone Tunes" to both your android and Mac or PC.
The transfer is as easy as answering a phone call. Even for me.
As to the confusion to the above poster as to why not just go to Goggle Music Library and find 20,000 songs there?
Why would you do that when with on click you can transfer 1500 or any number of songs to your Android set from iTunes?
Am I going to start from the beginning and search for those 1500 plus songs in a new OS?
"Easy Phone Tunes"

What apps (htc, tmobile, etc) are safe to disable on phone?

would appreciate any advice on this by those who've started to experiment.

You can easily disable all of the "T-Mobile" apps: T-Mobile My Account, T-Mobile Name ID, T-Mobile TV
I've also disabled TalkBack, Rescue, Polaris Office, News & Weather, Lookout Security,Kid Mode, Hangouts, Google Play Music, Google Play Movies & TV, Google Play Magazines.
As far as the HTC applications, I haven't began to disable any of them yet...
Thanks for your post, I was able to disable some more apps

yeah but you can uninstall google music
so why not uninstall that
I did uninstall it. Those were just a list of apps that I disabled or uninstalled.

I don't see, "or uninstalled" anywhere here.
So whats wrong with Google Music?
Do semantics really matter? And does it really matter whether or not I said it in my original post or if I clarified in my next post that it was either disabled OR "uninstalled"? The point is these apps that I mentioned are no longer present blaring in my face whenever I access my phone.
What's wrong with Google Music? Nothing -- if you want to use it. Me, personally? Google Music is a subscription-based service and it is something that, to me, is not worth it's value monthly.

First, congratulations on your freedom! You will have the ability to control and customize your phone much more than on iOS.
Second, iOS and Android are two totally separate systems. Yeah, any apps installed on Apple iPhone does not transfer over to Android.
In the future, with a different Android device, the apps you now install from Google Play store will automatically download and install when you sign in with your Gmail account.
