From what I know, if you are on MM, KingRoot won't work for you and as stated by zinko_pt in that post, never use KingRoot. It's a nightmare.

I tried to unlock my honor using kingroot (getting unlock code) I'm on 5.0.2 but still no progress.
Registrated on emui to get the code but I have to wait for 14 days (I don't know why)

They put it in place for instances where I know your IMEI, Serial and ID and try to get your unlock code.
As unlocking makes your phone unsecure, they want to make sure that it's really you who wants the unlock code.
I guess...

One of the users has a whole thread here where the phone eventually bricked trying to get rid of KingRoot root.
Please stay away from it.

Yeah dude, you'll want to wait those 14 days, when your bootloader is unlocked everything gets a lot easier, then u can flash TWRP recovery and with that the limits are very blurred:laugh: what I mean is that with just TWRP recovery u can then flash a Rom that is pre-rooted, it is absolutely the easy way to control your phone:good: I know 14 days is a long time, but it's better than a Brick:fingers-crossed:
Hi everyone,
I recently started to use RRos 8.1. Come from emui 8.
Due to high battery drain and warming device, I really would like to go back to emui. Problem is I can't. I tried some tutoriels found here but no way.
Could you help me please with the needed steps?
I have emui recovery oreo and no root.
Thanks.
What steps did you follow to install RRos 8.1 ?
Thanks for reply.
I used the system.img in the tutorial about RRos and flashed it through fastboot.
Just tried to flash system.img from the stock firmware...
I shouldn't try to do this. Now bootloop. I only have access to Huawei eRecovery, nothing else.
However, today, it's monday. So I just have to wait 9 o'clock and run to buy a brain :silly:

Hey, everyone, I just got the new P20 Lite running EMUI 8.0 and on the June security patch. Been through MT's Firmware Finder before with the Huawei Mate 9 Lite; however, I have seen that the app isn't working well with Huawei's servers at the moment - via the screenshot below.
How can I update my phone (model: ANE-LX3C605) to the latest security update (August) using the app - because, I can't seem to receive the OTA Update?
Here's the latest screenshot detailing the problem.
The latest version ANE-LX3C605 is not yet approved
You have to wait for the Full-PV so you can try that update :good:

Okay, thank you, King - but, how do I actually update it? It appears to me that Firmware Finder is broken.

instead use HurUpdate 0.4, its better than HwOTA8. HwOTA is quite buggy and broken. With HurUpdater, you dont need to rebrand your phone, however you should download the files which are actually meant for your device as per current ROM installed. Only difficult is that, you have to unlock your device which may result in data wipe, but you can always take a backup and recover. You also need to install twrp (I recommend Pretorian8 twrp). Rooting is not required for that.

Since Huawei doesn't give out unlock codes any longer for the bootloader, what's the best way to unlock my bootloader? Also, if I can unlock my bootloader, could you please also give me the link to HurUpdate?

For the time being, unlocking bootloader might cost around 5-15 Euros via DC unlocker. Click here for the detailed guide.
As the user states, you can try your luck to unlock your bootloader for free by mailing huawei care. I dont know how many had success by mailing though, but many succeeded by using DC unlocker.
Now after you unlock your bootloader, you can try using HurUpdater with detailed guide and download link.

Yeah, I'm not gonna pay 5-15 euros to unlock my bootloader... I tried emailing Huawei and they don't give any unlock codes whatsoever. Looks like I might have to wait patiently.
I have the same problem as you, with my p20 lite ane lx3c605, i´ve allready downloaded the last version from FF the b147, but the stock recovery doesn´t istall it, it stays in 5% then says error while updating, it seems the only way to have an updated huawei phone is paying for the code to unlock the bootloader, with my p10 didn´t have that problem because the official unloking code page was still working a few months ago.

Huawei stopped giving unlock codes for unlocking. Anyway there is no point of unlocking bootloader, because there is no custom roms
To unlock bootloader just use:
https://www.dc-unlocker.com
DC Unlock app or HCU.
You need 4 credits, in my case I was on android 8 update already and it worked flawlessly!
I did it, because of root. Adaway/Magisk/Titanium Backup.

Klem.. You are wrong. There are a few roms available for the phone which, of course, require an unlocked bootloader. So. IF you have an unlock code, there are roms for international versions: US devices are limited at the moment. IF you don't have a code, then you are unable to flash anything.

Nonsense! I've unlocked my bootloader and flashed one of the openkirin rims, Resurrection Remix! It all depends on your model and whether dc unlocker works.

4$ it's not a big cost to try at least. Probably refund is possible as well using dc-unlocker forum. I have seen some people there which got a successfully refund.

Just keep in mind, If you will have some problems with Magisk. After flashing the Magisk in TWRP you are getting a bootloop, here is a solution:

Dude, don't post your IMEI!
Second, open Kirin has your back.

According the the OP, this one should work.

In term of rooting, I have to idea if flashing magisk is enough or if there's a need for a patches boot image.

Until the is a fully functioning version of TWRP for Android 10, this is a moot point. At this time, TWRP is not fully functioning with Android 10. That isn't a Oneplus incompatibility, it's an Android 10 incompatibility.
That being said, you don't need TWRP to root your phone. Since Oneplus released the factory image, you can use Magisk and the "Boot Image Patching" method.

But don't bother, it's useless as of right now on devices launched with Android.

Is there no way to delete the existing partitions, create a partition suitable for flashing an OP7P ROM, and then flash a fully working TWRP? I am more interested in doing NAND backup/recovery than I am flashing ROMs; Being able to do both would be a plus.

You can repartition your phone like an 7 Pro, but its very risky and something msmtool won't be able to revert/revive.
You have to use others which I don't think are even available for us.
