Okay so i have updated my phone (moto z play) to android 8.0 via official 8.0. I have a problem with system ui draining so much battery since the update. I have done full data wipe and monitored the phone without installing any third party apps, just pure stock and the system ui drain is still there, heck even just looking at the screen without doing nothing that high cpu usages goes on, monitored in safe mode (system ui drain gone).
I have reached out to the lenovo reps and they don't seem very much helpful either. I think its the update to oreo that has been causing this drain but i think i'm the only one with the 'system ui" battery drain bug. i can pinpoint it at the top of my battery stats via gsam. It has been like that for a month and it is really frustrating since it really cut of my SOT for a couple of hours use.
Is there any fix on this? is it possible i just had a corrupt ota download? can i re install android 8.0 even if im already in 8.0. Btw i'm all on stock. Not rooted or anything.

Looks like your screen is eating a lot of battery.
Try reducing the brightness to minimum.
Also the OS on your phone takes some time to set itself up so wait a days or two and then check it again.
Also there have already been many threads adressing the same issue, starting a new thread without searching is not a healthy habit.

I can highly recommend greenify (when you have root access). It can solve a lot of battery drain problems, due to stopping unwanted backup processes from running.
I'm wondering if anyone might be able to help me with this battery life/sleep issue. I have not found much info about it online.
Phone: Nexus 6 unlocked on stock firmware and unrooted
Carrier: Verizon Wireless
Android Version: 6.0.1 (build MMB29Q)
This issue also occurred on my old GS4 which was running Android 4.4.2/echoe rom.
Note the charging graph below:

When I unplug my phone in the morning, I always have to turn it off and back on or else it will not enter sleep. With light use, phone frequently enters sleep and battery drain is minimal. After heavy use midday I plugged the phone in. Note that after the first partial charge, the phone never enters sleep until I restart it around 7pm. This results in significant battery drain.
This is a frustrating problem and I can't for the life of me figure out the cause other than it is directly related to charging. Anyone else encounter the same issue?
Thanks!
It seems firmware version 32.2.A.0.253 changed the battery usage display,

I like the old one better as it showed cell signal quality over time, GPS/Wi-Fi/screen usage etc. and the new one only displays the last 48 hours.
Is there an option to revert back to the old display?
Is this change caused by Sony or Google (Android)? I hope new Android versions may improve this.
This is also on the z3c latest update so it's a Sony thing imo. I have to agree with you though as we've list a lot of battery functionality with this change. Not impressed with Sony removing this as it's the first screen I used if get any bad apps using battery. Using a third party app but it doesn't record phone awake time

Is there a good 3rd party app to remedy this?
I seldom used it but it was useful to know certain things. Annoying that Sony hid it
Hi everyone, I'm a new user in xda although I have consulted long years ago. Im a developer from Spain.
I can't reply in official post because I'm noob, so I ask in general android forum.
I have installed official Resurrection Remix in my Leeco Le Max 2, this is the thread
https://forum.xda-developers.com/le-max-2/development/x82x-resurrectionremix-m-v5-7-4-t3542355
And Im worried about battery draining. Check this screenshot

As you can see, more than 15% of battery was drained while I was sleeping. No Google Apps, no aplications installed, only a clean RR Rom, baterry save activated.
I guess the problem is smartphone is trying to find a mobile net during the night, because bar is red, if Im using the phone bar is green, why? What's the correct configuration to avoid this?
Thanks
Today I disabled cell data and same case, around 17% dicharged.

Try flashing Exposed and then installing Amplify and Greenify off of GPlay, should make a huge difference while the phone is in deep sleep.
Looks like no one cares about Pie for G6 anymore. But I'm just write few experiences with new 30b update ANW.
- Battery improved significantly, which is a huge plus. Mine G6 is completely stock, AOD disabled, no social apps, 19% for 51 min SOT (20p get only 40 min).
- Smoothness is about the same, though I feel like Pie is smoother just a little bit.
- Few changes in the UI (gesture, app drawer, home button, icons shape...).
But:
- Stock Cam app is draining battery pretty much (defect I guess).
- Bluetooth give the same feeling as stock cam.
Most improvements after updates are due to the cache being cleared or, even better, a factory reset.
The change to pie on a two year old phone isn't going to produce miracles. Disabling all the system bloat and using greenify should get you the same 7h screen time I get on oreo - but I recently replaced my battery.
