Disable "Do not disturb is on" - Android System notification - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

It's driving me nuts that there is always this one notification that I cant disable.
I'm running Android 8.0.0 on the Sony Xperia XZ Premium (G8141) and I'm pretty sure that on previous android versions there was only a small icon at the very top right of the screen that indicated when do not disturb was on. Why is there this huge notification now?
And no, I cant disable the notification in the notification settings (Notifications of System UI) as its forced to stay on and I already set all categories to Importance Low. https://i.imgur.com/0kIHfU0.png "nicht sören" is "do not disturb"
With Root access, I'm willing to go to any length to get rid of this notification.

Android L, process handling Question

if I untick "show notifications" for an app that constantly sits in the notification.. the corresponding icon goes away from the notification bar and lockscreen (as it should)...
my question is: does the app still enjoy enhanced priority if I do this I'm on lollipop if that means anything..

No more "allow peeking" option after nougat.

Is there a way to enable system ui tuner on LG G5? I really need the "power notification control" for privacy option.
You want to stop the heads up notification from showing up?
On Nougat that's easy, no need for system ui tuner;
Once you receive a notification from the app you want to stop "peeking", swipe right (or left) and hold till you see a setting icon, click on it and select "Show notifications silently".
Now you won't see any heads up from it, nor notification sound/vibration, but it will still show up in your notification bar/panel.
** You can also go to Settings -> Notifications -> Apps to choose any app you want to change their notification behavior.
On the G5, System UI Tuner is disabled by default and I think you'll need root to unlock it.

Reset all App Notification Settings on Android Pie

Hey Pepz,
I got an Pixel 2 XL with Android Pie on it and I want to reset all my apps notification settings. So what I ultimately want to do is change every apps settings to the same thing basically.
Show notifications: "ON"
Behaviour: "Make sound and pop up on screen"
On lock screen: "Show all notification content"
Sound: "Default notification sound"
Vibrate: "ON"
Blink light: "ON"
and so on...
There doesn't seem to be a way to default every app to have my desired settings (so a global change of the notification default), or is there? Does anyone know an app that can do this?
My goal is to have every app, system apps included, to do the same thing and afterwards change just some single apps to do something else.
So in short: Ignore the default a developer choose for me and override the whole notification settings everywhere to my taste.
(Otherwise I got to change 200+ apps manually and apps like Facebook, Snapchat or Tinder tend to have alot of subcategories so that would take days really )

emergency alert notifications

Hi,
I have a call to inform about earthquakes (Yurekuru Call). It will display a popup with time until the earthquake approaches. It is very precise most of the times.
Still I like to keep wireless emergency alerts for redundancy, in case something is not working in the above app.
Unfortunately the emergency alerts notifications popup removes the apps notification and has always priority it seems.
This makes the apps alerts useless.
I see in the systems settings there is an option to "Turn on notifications". But I'm not sure what it means as I couldn't find any explanation.
Will this deactivate the emergency alerts completely or will it just disable the popover?
Is there a way to disable the popover but keep notifications so that in case my app misbehaves I have those at least?
Or can I set the priority for the emergency alerts popover somewhere so the apps popover has higher priority?
Thanks!

Do the emergency alert popups qualify as notifications? I don't think so. I can't find them in the recent notifications list.
@DarsVaeda
You're absolutely right: a popup is a non-fullscreen window shown on top of Android's screen, whereas a notification is shown in Android's notification bar
A popup and a notification are 2 totally different things.
I think you want instead of a popup a notification sent what only can be realized by emergency app's developer.

You got that wrong a bit. I want the emergency alerts to be a notification. I want the app to keep the popup.

Does the LED notification light not work? Mine only ever shows when the phone is plugged in. I can't get it to flash when I have notifications, even though all settings in Android settings seem to be turned on

The problem is due to all the PER-app notification permissions. (I was missing notifications all the time. )
The next time you miss a notification: (Instructions are for MIUI12 but should be similar for MIUI1. I think the upgrade may have also reset some of the notification settings):
Swipe down on the status bar from the top left.
Long-press on the notification that you missed.
Click MORE SETTINGS. (The app in question will display.)
Ensure "Show Notifications" is enabled.
Allow Sound, Vibration, LED.
Below Notification Categories, press on one of the notification sub-categories:
Ensure "Show Notifications" is enabled for the sub-category. Change "Importance" to Default or High. (If it is "LOW", the other options are disabled.)
Change the notificaiton SOUND, Vibration, LED as desired.
If the missing notification isn't appearing in the status bar or if you want to fix the problem with other apps, you will have go to SETTINGS | NOTIFICATIONS and find the app yourself.
tried all the above...still does not work
Today: Poco X3 PRO + MIUI 12.5.1 and still the same problem. How could it be broken for so long? Maybe no one cares
