Why would they disable tap to pay, and is this something we can un**** with custom roms?

Because Verizon always wants a piece of the pie no matter what. Google Wallet doesn't benefit them. Instead, they tried to get in with other carriers to create Isis, which is the same technology. Problem is that Isis is pretty much dead in the water, but Verizon won't give on to that reality, so they block the feature. With root, yes it is possible to use Google Wallet tap to pay. I did on my Galaxy S3.

Isis is coming out with a different reload able card. Not to sure of the details, but apparently they are revamping everything in anticipation of a nationwide release. Hopefully it will be something that I can use instead of having to start an account with Chase or American Express

Didn't they have Google wallet working on the s4 with only root? Can't this be done with the note 3??

I'd assume you would need a custom ROM that the dev has modified to allows all NFC related functions
Please op change the tittle of your post gets me every time thinking that Google wallet is actually working thanks.

It can be done on the S3, S4 and Note 2 currently with root. In theory it could still work on the Note 3. Its just a simple edit of the build.prop to another device model, install and setup wallet, then change the model number back.
(Not tested on Note 3. I havent tried so plz dont say that i said it could be done)
Build Prop trick does not work

I tried the build prop trick on Galaxy Note 3 and it fails. I edited the build prop with no problem but when you open the Wallet app it gives the following error.....
Insufficient secure element privileges for this system image. (release-keys)
NOTE: I did swap my SIM card from my Note 2 to the Note 3 so I could use my most common phone number with the new device. I have not tried this trick with the pre-installed SIM card.

Changing the build prop is only half the fix you would need libs from either a sprint note 3 ROM. Once we get a recovery I will make a lib fix zip just as I did for the Verizon note 2.

Don't really need a flash file for this as you can manually place all the files as well. As far as I know though the Note 3 is missing the secure element to make this possible.
I sure the note 3 has a secure element ISIS uses the secure element and that works for tap to pay.

i was looking on here for a custom radio that i could use, i used one on the note 3 that was great now that i'm on stock i never have a signal at work when i always use to so can any one port it of tell me if they are settings that would work better.

radios on the S5 is already a lot better than my S4, great reception indoor and outside whereas my S4 consistenly on get 1-2 bars. I don't really see the need for custom radio yet.

commming from a note 3 the signal and speed of the connection is crappy next to it so yeah its better than the s4 bbut not what i'm used to so its slower for me
So, here's my dilemma. Using internet radio doesn't work at my gym. The TVs that play use a local FM transmitter that can only be picked up the ol' fashion way in close proximity. I used FM radio a lot on my M8 for this reason. Thoughts?
I don't think it works on the vzw model, Based on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2788364
Yea. There certainly Was. "Was" being the keywors. It was there until Verizon took it away, among many other things
Do we know if they removed the hardware, or just disabled it via software? I miss this feature. My old Droid X made my mp3 player obsolete. Every phone since has required me to have my mp3 player or miss out. I think it's Verizon trying to get us to use data from Internet radio.

I have no idea. I dl'd the APK and all it says is Demo... sucks.
I believe the Korean model had a built in antenna that could be extended out the top of the phone. I say its hardware and software problem on ours?

Verizon was the only one to take the fm radio antenna out of the m7 so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what happend here

Yeah I believe you are right, I remember now. I guess it could be possible to be dual purpose antenna but I'm sure that would have been discussed in early release reviews of the Korean model.

Usually the headphones cord is used for the FM antenna on phones that have FM tuners.

On the M8 the hardware was still there. Once I found the apk it worked just fine.
I wonder if the TV and the radio shared the same hardware and was not added as a result.

I found the stock apk and it didn't work. What is the link for the one you used. Tune radio is internet radio and doesn't use a tuner.

Yeah, I think Snoop doesn't know what the FM APK is for the G3. The hardware appears to be missing.
If I were to buy the US Version of the SGP771 can I flash it to the international version with the aim of having phone dialer enabled on it ?
If so, anyone have the step by step links to perform this task? Anyone flashed a USA version ?

It is long time now but someone else may need.
USA Version also has phone dialer app already.
Anyway, you can flash it to a different region by using flashtool.

Now that Verizon has released an update to the S9+, I want to move my Verizon branded S9+ that I flashed to T-Mobile last month, back to Verizon so I can sell it. I can't seem to find any Verizon user data files for it though.

Hhhmm. Then maybe it either cause it's a vzw phone or the S9 is different from the S8

I think it's different from the S8. As an example, Sprint has a list of BYOD devices and it says any of the S8 models work, but only the US unlocked model of the S9 or Note 8 work.
