Now that Verizon has released an update to the S9+, I want to move my Verizon branded S9+ that I flashed to T-Mobile last month, back to Verizon so I can sell it. I can't seem to find any Verizon user data files for it though.

That doesn't work. Maybe on the unlocked model, but not the carrier models.

It works on the carrier models as long as it's unlocked. I just did it this morning on my phone.

Hhhmm. Then maybe it either cause it's a vzw phone or the S9 is different from the S8

I think it's different from the S8. As an example, Sprint has a list of BYOD devices and it says any of the S8 models work, but only the US unlocked model of the S9 or Note 8 work.

Will verizon s4 work on at&t. Will i be able to get 4g? Thanks
4G as in H+? Then yes.
No, they have different radios. GSM (AT&T) vs CDMA (Verizon)
JaeKay, the Verizon S4 had both radios. I have personally used an AT&T SIM and made calls and gotten H+. So to the OP, YES YOU CAN. You just need to add the APN info after you put in the new SIM card.

Need to root for APN change/add ? or possible to add new APN without rooting?
I was rooted but it should not be a requirement. Just need a non Verizon SIM in the phone.

A co worker of mine pulled a new S4 out of box and put in his at&t SIM sure enough it worked. so non rooted works too.

I have both a TMO sim and and ATT sim, and I got EDGE with TMO. No H/H+ right now on TMO because very few areas are on 1900. Our version of the S4 does not have the ability to use H/H+ on the AWS frequencies, just LTE.
Wondering if I can use this phone with straight talk? it is rooted and unlocked.

I'm currently trying it out. I bought the AT&T compatible sim from their website, and got the APN settings directly from them. Everything seems to work ok.
From what I have read you can get HSPA+ but not LTE when using the AT&T SIM on straight talk with the verizon note 2. Also in 4.3 there is no need to root to update the APN. Otherwise it works fine.
I was thinking about switching but after doing the math my verizon ETF eats all but $40 of the savings over the next 8 months until my contract ends. Will check it out again come September.

Correct. Our phones do have have the AT&T LTE bands. And actually being able to edit APN's was opened up on 4.1.2 without rooting but the thought is still correct.
The Note 3 and few other devices from T-Mobile can pick up AT&T LTE signal, can the S5 do so as well? Where can we get the device unlocked?
Edit: I have found a website where I believe you can unlock any gsm Galaxy S 5 (I haven't tried it myself but others have) here is the site
http://www.theunlockingcompany.com
It should work without any issues. The cost is $41.99 USD.
Edit 2: This website has been confirmed to be working great

Yes it absolutely have all AT&T LTE bands, as well as HSPA/GSM ones. Just needs to be unlocked.
Is there a way to network unlock the phone right now? I was going to switch back to ATT today but I might use my Jump on an S5 before I go.
I believe cellunlocker.net should have that unlock soon hopefully...

As of today we are no joy.
T Mobile makes you wait 40 days before they will release the unlock code. And it's $760 total.
I too want this answer -- I paid $660 plus tax ($720) to get mine yesterday.
I bought from TMo because I had read that they aren't locked and the sales person told me the same -- well, it seems that it is. Called Tech Support and they said they can't help me because I don't have a TMo #.
I'll go back to the store today -- unless there's another option.
For poeple hoping to unlock their phones. Pray Chainfire makes Regionlock Away on the play work on the S5.

Has anyone tried to use Samsung Secret codes to unock it? I am not sure if this works for the S5 or not, but there are steps you can use on the S4 that allows you to unlock the phone using codes - See this thread for steps - (careful - I am not positive this works - I don't know what the downside might be if you screw up - but it might be an option - or possibly something similar? )http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283068

Does anyone know if the Tmo S5 have the exact same bands as AT&T S5? I am wondering because in Chicago, AT&T has LTE-A and wanted to make sure the Tmo version would also have this if used on AT&T network. Thanks in advance.

Carrier Aggregation is only enabled on AT&T S5 variant. As far as individual AT&T LTE and HSPA+ bands, they're all present on T-Mobile variant.

Thanks, I'll probably go with the AT&T variant then.
I have found a potentially site to unlock the device (potentially cause I haven't tried it but seems legit). Check the OP.

Did the guys that tried it say that it had to be activated on the T-Mobile network before being able to be unlocked?

No, I checked a video from samjpullen on youtube, he is fairly known youtuber and he recommended the site. Here is his video:
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=phOSUUIM2W4
He is in the UK but I did check the site when you choose Samsung and then choose galaxy s 5 it asks you which country and what carrier. When I had the T-Mobile note 3 I didn't need to activate it to unlock it.

Nice. I did check multiple unlock sites and several of them had the T-Mobile S5 listed. Didn't want to buy it without knowing if it would work though. I also know some people at T-Mobile so I'm going to see if they can do something for me as well. I just want the phone already, lol.

Really? I had my hopes up with getting the SM-G900T and using it on AT&T. It can probably be turned on manually via QPST but will take a bit of research
Does anyone have any advice with this? I heard AT&T released an update not long ago to allow the fingerprint reader play nice with phone cases.. How do get this update if I only have cricket?

Hmm, have you tried removing you sim and trying to get the update over wifi? Not sure if that would work, or how you would do it. Also maybe keep an eye out for someone to grab and post the AT&T update zip
I have an old AT&T Sim card. I might try popping it in the v10 and see if that works.

Ok Kool, keep me posted. I have an unlocked T-Mobile Note 5 that I may end up using on Cricket
Come to think of it, my Note5 has a bad IMEI on T-Mobile, but it did do an update over wifi
Any news with this?
I tried using an old AT&T Go prepaid Sim card and had no luck with it.
I think I'm just going to sell this phone and very an unlocked phone since the v10 I have is for AT&T and I have cricket.

Doesn't matter. My 9/10pro did and never worked. That's due to no vzw LTE support and 3g. I've tried many times. Even with the 20p when I had it.

Its a fight that will NEVER win. The CDMA carrier vzw ( yes they have LTE ) will never support it. why? because the us gov wont let them ( the 10 pro was originally going to with ATT but NOPE ) and the fact that its not something they can subsidize. they allow specific unlocked phones. thats it. same as sprint. It will never happen or work.
Recently bought a note 9 unlocked from google. Tried to activate it at the store employee said he was unable to do it because the phone not in the verizon database. I told him to activate a new sim on my note 8 verizon phone(micro SD)
then took the micro sd and put the micro sd into the note 9 and it worked.
and put old sim of note 8 back.
everything is good. hope this helps.

I think verizon is having trouble activating the sim with out the IMEI in their data base.
but everything has stated these phones have all the bands required for Verizon.
I'm just saying give it a try and report back.
sims at verizon are free worth a shot.
