Hey all,
So I'm using the DNA on AT&T and it works great. My question is, how do I go about getting the new software update that's being pushed out to other users while I'm on AT&T? For some reason, my DNA won't pick up the OTA on AT&T, and even sticking an old, deactivating Verizon SIM in it won't work either. I've also tried just using no SIM on wifi and checking for the update but still nothing. Any way I can download the RUU or something? Thanks!
how to unlock network AT&T
I think you can just download the update. Zip on the server and then flash it to your phone and you will have the update I know people over seas are probably going to do it that way since they can't get the ota in another country where there is no service.

Wouldn't flashing a zip require root? Or are you taking about an RUU? I'm not rooted and don't plan to be, just want the ota.

I can'at get any more specific with that question. LoL!!
I've been reading online, and I think it is, though I don't see it on the website. I figured it would come to Tmo, but eh...? Doesn't seem like it.
What about an unlocked AT&T one? Well... I wouldn't get an unlocked one. I don't want the phone that badly. LoL!!
I also feel I should put this. I searched this thread for the keyword "Tmobile" and nothing showed up. Just in case someone asks. =.P
Thanks for any answers!! =.D
No not yet im waiting to see if Tmobile will get it as well. I asked a few people at Tmo stores and they have no knowledge if they will even carey the phone.

While the idea is nice, I wanted to use my Tmo Jump option. LoL!! But it's in January, so newer phones will be coming out. I think I'll just wait and see what the HTC M8 (HTC One successor) will be. Supposedly it'll be a 5-inch device, though it won't be a phablet. Hmm...
How do you get the LTE for tmobile to work on The verizon Version?
Wondering if I can use this phone with straight talk? it is rooted and unlocked.

I'm currently trying it out. I bought the AT&T compatible sim from their website, and got the APN settings directly from them. Everything seems to work ok.
From what I have read you can get HSPA+ but not LTE when using the AT&T SIM on straight talk with the verizon note 2. Also in 4.3 there is no need to root to update the APN. Otherwise it works fine.
I was thinking about switching but after doing the math my verizon ETF eats all but $40 of the savings over the next 8 months until my contract ends. Will check it out again come September.

Correct. Our phones do have have the AT&T LTE bands. And actually being able to edit APN's was opened up on 4.1.2 without rooting but the thought is still correct.
I'm currently with Cricket Wireless and every time I try to update I phone I receive an error message stating, "error: update check interrupted".
I have come to find out that you cannot get the update through Cricket Wireless.
Does anyone know if the Samsung booths within Best Buy stores will receive the update? I went in about two weeks ago and they claimed to not yet received it.
Are there any U.S. carriers besides AT&T that you can get the update from OTA? If I were to go with AT&T pay as you go would I receive the update?
Thanks.
I was able to get the update using an old SIM card for Net10 which I was not using. I am currently with T-Mobile though I am considering to switch to Cricket. Just a piece of info.

I heard some carriers were supported, such as Straight Talk. Did your Net10 SIM have a monthly plan on it when you tried it?
No, the line was not active. The previous plan had expired three weeks before.

to get lollipop you MUST have an AT&T or an AT&T MVNO sim card. Because the phone has to connect to ATT servers. And it won't anyone but ATT to connect. Also I'm not trying be rude but this has been covered many times already
I didn't see any threads and I did a bit of searching first but besides the point.
How do you determine of a SIM is ATT MVNO?

Google ATT mvno and there should be a wiki page with a list. This is the same problem tmobile users are having. And some people in other countries like me

I was just looking at mvnos for att. I didn't know cricket was one. So maybe att doesn't allow cricket to connect to their update servers

Yes, cricket is on the ATT network but I've been informed by a few sources that Cricket is also their own network and won't receive updates. Whatever reason that is...
But I've heard of people updating on other carriers using ATT towers. I'm probably going to boot Cricket down the road anyway. Not getting updates is garbage.

I'd go with TMobile if they work good where you're at. Their prices are awesome. You can always buy a prepaid att card just for updates

I know T-Mobile used a different primary LTE band so the G850a may not work with them.
Just tried to update with an inactive Straight Talk SIM on an AT&T LG G2 and it said the device was up to date. The LG G2 update was rolled out with the Alpha update so it should be available. Can't test with the ST SIM in my phone; it won't fit.
G850A works great with T-Mobile. Much faster LTE than with AT&T. No lollipop update is availability through T-Mobile though. So I had to use my old MET10 SIM card to get the update. Now I'm on lollipop with T-Mobile.

Do you have any regret upgrading to LP? I read users want to go back to KK and they cant.
Nope. It became much snappier though the encryption authentication screen got uglier.

This is an AT&T device with a locked bootloader..there's no root on 5.0...and if I'm not mistaken..no safe root on KK either

Thank you for your quick reply. Can you please explain in simple language as i am not an expert in these things.
Oops.. Huge typos.. I mean "could someone get me the AT&T update?"
Can anyone do this? I know it's just the update to improve the fingerprint scanner when using a case but I sure would like that update. I'm using cricket and unable to update my phone.
I'd even be willing to throw a few bucks your way for doing so.

Looking for this also. Using mine in Canada. So can't get AT&T updates
