Hello dear friends,
I have buyed a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 with global rom. I will install dutch language, but cannot find a good rom. Can you help me please? I have also problem with the sim tray. The phone recognize both sim cards, but doesnt have service. Please help. I live in the Netherlands.
The ROMs from xiaomi.eu have Dutch language in-built as far as I know. Here is the link to their Weekly ROMs - https://xiaomi.eu/community/link-forums/roms-download.73/
As for the SIM card issue, have you checked if your operator's bands are supported by the phone or not?

Hi, my current rom is: MIUI version: MIUI Global 8.0 | Stable 8.0.1.0(LHOMIDG)
Thanks for response
Helle, thanks for response. I have downloaded that rom, but cannot install it on my device. Do you know how to do that? I have sometimes problems with MiFlash.. Sometime it works, and sometime it gives error message about hello packet.

That looks like an official rom. Have you checked your APN settings for your network?

For xiaomi.eu roms, you need to unlock your bootloader officially and flash the rom through TWRP.

I have an unlocked bootloader and TRWP, but cannot install an EU rom, can you help me with that?
@dlkrsn42 First take backup, because flashing xiaomi.eu rom will require a wipe of data.
Put the xiaomi.eu rom zip (intact not extracted) on your external sdcard.
Boot TWRP.
Wipe Data and cache Partitions
Select Install and choose the xiaomi.eu rom zip (from sdcard).
Swipe to Install
Reboot

@dlkrsn42 First boot of the rom, can take 15 to 20 mins.
What version of TWRP are you using? Try the official version: - https://twrp.me/devices/redminote3.htm
Did you download the correct version of the rom for kenzo?
Did you check the MD5 of the rom, to make sure it wasn't corrupted in the download.
Your bootloader might have been locked again by the flash, so you will have to unlock it again using MIunlock tool!

sure you didn't need it if you coming from official miui either global or china version, then switch into eu rom.
different story if you coming from cm/aosp rom. eu rom will locked your bootloader even officially unlock, this happened to me once. after flashing eu rom from cm, i directly reboot it. guess what, stuck at mi logo & fastboot mode. checked my bl, it's locked again and should be unlocked.
will be more safe if you suggest to flash it after rom due to we didn't know those ppl coming from miui/cm/aosp and which twrp used.

Yes, but i gonna delet it from there, nobody gives reply. In meanwhile i have did a research and find the problem (i think). Ik have flashed my Phone to an Global rom (kenzo), but i need to install the global rom version for redmi note 3 special edition (kate). I have find this update package, but cannot not install it. I have asked permission to xiaomi to unlock my bootlaoder (officialy), i hope to get a postive answer and after that, i actualy dont know how to update my Phone with the Kate rom.
You know how i can do this? Or somebody else whos reading this. Please help me
@abihary First thing i did when I got my device was to flash global dev, to unlock. And flashed xiaomi.eu rom. Didn't need to patch boot. Have updated by dirty flashing about 11 weekly roms and didn't encounter any problems.
If your device has been on CM firmware, then you probably need to flash official roms first before flashing xiaomi.eu rom and would need the lazy flasher.
Xiaomi.eu Marshmallow roms cause the bootloader lock if coming from lollipop.
@dlkrsn42 "Kate" Model doesn't have an xiaomi.eu rom (probably never will due to only official global roms for it).
No wonder your device boot-looped when flashed with a "Kenzo" rom.
The rom you listed earlier was for "Kenzo"

If you do have the "Kenzo" and unlocked unofficially, there was extract steps required to successfully flash xiaomi.eu rom.
See here.
Edit: It is advised to be officially unlocked for xiaomi.eu marshmallow roms
If you have "Kate" check here to flash an official rom by EDL. Doesn't need to be unlocked to do so. But use a fastboot rom.
Out of curiosity while in fastboot mode, what does the following report?
Code:
fastboot getvar product

Hello, thanks for the information. The fastboot getvar product code results in Kenzo. I will tell you short my situation:
I and my friend have orderd the xiaomi redmi note 3 (snapdragon). I had installed everything but with a reason i dont know my phone doesnt accepted the lockscreen pin. This is the pin i used several years on different phones, so my phone was not able to use. I have did a research and found fastboot and fastboot roms for Kenzo. I have did this and know i have problems with my simcard (no service) and camera that doesnt work.
i asked my friend to send me a screen shot of his "about phone" menu (we both got the same phones). His phones shows this: "MIUI Global | 7.5 Stable 7.5.2.0 (MHRMIDE)" and my phone shows now (after update) "MIUI Global 8.0 | Stable 8.0.5.0(LHOMIDG)". I did an research on his version (MHRMIDE) and find the international version (Kate). Well i have buyed that phone also, sow i am thinking that my phone now doesnt support my provider (but i dont know why camera doesnt work..). Sow i am now out of options. I have find an tutorial (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7TufbuneNl4) to install MHRMIDE rom from TWRP recovery. On the youtube movie its going all good, but not when i try it. Can it be because o dont have official unlocked bootloader?(i am still waiting on an sms from Xiaomi). And everything was working very fine when i received the phone.
I will very happy of someone can help me to fix it. Can it something with baseband or kernel? I am not an expert like you guys... I hope this story is clear and understandable..
@dlkrsn42 If you and your friend have exactly the same phone and it is the same size.
Then if you flashed a "kenzo" rom onto a "Kate" model, It is probably incorrectly telling the wrong product version in fastboot.
That would also explain why your not getting no service as the kate has different modem firmware.
As I suggested earlier you will need to flash a Fastboot rom for "kate" in EDL mode, can be done without unlocking the bootloader.
Edit: The video you linked is a guide to put the "Kate" rom on a "Kenzo" and is not recommended because it won't unlock the extra bands.

Hello, thanks for fast response. Well ı tried to flash a kate rom, but it doesnt work. Do you have any idea what i can do? Because when i ordered the phone, it is selled as an international phone amd it was also working good till i have flashed a kenzo rom.
Have you tried the EDL Mode method with a fastboot rom.
Here are instructions for that method, just make sure you use Special Edition Fastboot rom.
I find that the sim isn't recognized when booted up. You need to enter airplane mode then deactivate it for the phone to register the sim

It's been so long since I unlocked my kenzo, but I don't remember it asking me for a region. I'm in NZ too.
From memory, I followed this page:
xiaomitips.com/download/mi-flash-unlock-tool
I set my phone number to the full +642xxxxxxxxxx.
The main difficulty for me was that even though I got permission, I had to flash the global development ROM version, as the global stable ROM got the 50% verification problem.

i have a friend in aussie who let me use there number, i have been given acceptance to unlock but not i get stuck at 50% cannot verify device, what steps do i need to take to get past this error?
To fix 50 % stuck or verification problem. First flash global beta or dev rom via miflash tool in edl mode than umlock with mi flash tool. Or wait for 4 - 5 days after unlock code acceptance if u tried to unlock on reinstalled stable rom

It takes a week or two until it lets you unlock after getting permission. Also you need to be on developer ROM AFAIK to unlock.
There are several guides on unofficial unlocking, you should give it a try in case you are impatient.

Correct, you have to have the development ROM, and wait a week after getting approval.
Apparently it takes that long to get to their servers.
If you try to use the updater app on MIUI to flash a developer ROM when you have the global ROM, it will tell you that it can't verify the update.
Most people will tell you to use edl mode to flash developer ROM, which will work.
I solved this on my phone ; I managed to use the inbuilt updater to successfully flash global developer 6.8.18, and from there unlock.
No other version would flash.
Thank you for all your replies. I have sorted it moe based on your tips.
I have Mido SD 32/3GB on MIUI 8.2.10.0.0.
When I check for updates in Updater app it gives me no update, and on MI site download page for Redmi Note 4X global there are 8.5.4.0 version. I have manualy downloaded 8.5.4.0 update and put it in internal and external memory and tryed "choose update package" option.Nothing,MIUI says "can't verify update.current version is illegal, only allowed to flash stable version".I have tried MIUI 9 7.8.24...same thing. The fone is all stock. But the bootloader is factory unlocked.
Anybody has solution??? Thanks.

Hey man, you have a Fake/tampered Rom
Take a look at this:
http://en.miui.com/thread-392159-1-1.html
For stable rom , needed about 3 decimal points. Not more than that
You need to use MIFLASH tool to flash the original rom. Make sure to unlock bootloader first (i think its already unlock thou).
Flashing guide:
http://en.miui.com/thread-565784-1-1.html
Thanks,I was thinking about using MIFLASH.
Yes, bootloader is (factory ??? ) unlocked.I buy it like that.
(why would seler temper with ROM? my Mido is chinese 2016101 and I live in Serbia/East Europe.couldn,t they just flash Global rom.I buy from them Redmi 4a for my wife, and it was OK.Updated fine to latest ROM.)
Didn't know about 3 decimal rom rule.

Xiaomi have no official retail stores yet (except at India thou) so they let those f*ck up resellers to buy their phones and do whatever they want to sell it.
If the reseller bought those phones directly from China with chinese miui rom , tendency it will modified to english with playstore installed.
Sorry for that lol ,
Now try miflash if it works :fingers-crossed:
MIFLASH did the trick. I'm now on 8.5.4.0.
How to know the bootloader is lock or unlock?
And is there any tutorial i can follow on how to install rom from fake to official?

To flash an official ROM (stable or developer, chinese or global) over an unofficial one, you need an unlock bootloader and follow this guide.
If you are using an unofficial ROM, like those fake MIUI ROMs (bad) or Xiaomi.eu ROMs (better than official), you have already an unlocked bootloader.
Hey,
I noticed that a lot of people are buying a "global" version of Redmi K20 Pro from Chinese sellers. Such a device comes with pre-installed global ROM with many languages.... but ATTENTION, for now there is no such thing as Global ROM! Chinese sellers unlock the bootloader with their dev account, then they install the remade global rom (most likely coming from non-original sources). One day when the official global ROM comes out, the OTA update will make a brick from the phone (because bootloader will most likely lock or simply the software files will not match).
When the bootloader is blocked, the device must have the same software as it came out of the factory, currently only China ROM. In a few days, the Indian version of Redmi K20 Pro with a different code name - raphaelin - will have premiere. Currently, when you check the fingerprint / code name of your Redmi K20 Pro with fake Global ROM (called trashMIUI) it will turn out that it is raphaelin instead of raphael... This already shows that something is wrong because raphaelin has will be presented in India on July 17.
My advice? If you have a global rom installed on Redmi K20 Pro, first install TWRP and Xiaomi.eu ROM, then stay on it until real global rom will be available! And REMEMBER, never lock your bootloader! If you will do it, the only way to fix it will be flash China ROM using test points.
It is also unknown whether the global rom from the Indian version of the Redmi K20 Pro will be able to be installed on the current Chinese version (there will be different code names).

Those Russians really know how to fix miui. You can even disable all the remaining useless miui apps right in the apps own info settings menu, so you don't need root or ADB.

Yes, you can do it, but...
Xiaomi.eu is China ROM with installed Google services, with multi-languages and it is debloated
I bought a Global ROM k20 pro before I figuring it wasn't an official ROM
If they opened the bootloader with a dev account. Is this different methode than with the Mi- account unlocking they tell buyers to do? If it isn't would it be possible to link the device to a different account?

So in theory I could flash a Xiaomi.eu ROM and re-lock bootloader, not gonna re-lock bootloader I know it's ill adviced but it's possible with those ROMs?
If you boot up the phone, on splash screen, you see the unlock label, that's great, just install twrp and enjoy any rom that you like. Luckily, you've got a pre-unlock device.
If not, I'll be sorry for that, locked bootloader and custom rom, you just can stay with that bad rom, only the qcom 9008 way can flash with locked bootloader.
I bought the normal China version, I have a question, can I fastboot flash India version rom on my China version phone?

Actually if you get a locked you just have to go through the Xiaomi unlocking process which takes a few days to a week. The bootloader is not permanently locked.

Yes I'm aware of this but I've read instances where people their device was still linked to the retailers MI-account therefore unable to unlock their bootloader that way. Mine will be delivered in 4 days but that's what concerns me the most.

How do you know that? First, India version will be available AFTER 17 July. India version will have different code name (raphaelin) than China version (raphael). Do you install software from Mi 9 on Redmi K20 Pro? Same components, BUT a different code name.

This is a slightly different method because they do not have to wait a week as opposed to an ordinary user. Of course, you can connect your Mi account with the device, but you must allow OEM unlock in the developer settings. Locking a bootloader is not really a good idea. And no, on xiaomi.eu never lock the bootloader. For example, an unlocked bootloader is needed because OTA updates are automatically installed via TWRP. Unlocked bootloader is useful, see what happened to Mi 9SE users - their system displayed a notification that it is destroyed, but thanks to an unlocked bootloader and TWRP you can install everything you want, fix Google Pay, remove MIUI ads, remove junk from the system etc.

I used MIUI before Xiaomi was created, and Android since version 1.6. Easy, I know what I'm talking about.

There is no need for open gapps. The stock Chinese ROM has Google services already installed. Go to the Mi app store and search for Google. You'll probably not see anything straight away, but will get a pop-up message in Chinese. Click the right button and it will bring up a lot of Google apps, including the Play Store.

Indeed comes mi unlocked.
time to flash everything...
i just flashed twrp magisk and the rom. rebooted, it took a bit long... i thought i bricked it. but then, tada, everything the same but i had root. there was no reset involved seems the rom is a xiaomi eu rom...
And what if the ofiicial global version never comes out (wich is the most likely option)? What will then be with global ROM users. I ordered Global ROM and really would like someone to make video on youtube or explain steps for installing TWRP and Xiaomi.eu ROM, or what is the best option for us Global ROM users to get most out of phone... Thanks in advance

If you took the time to look through the K20 Pro forums, there are guides already. This is just a few threads below this one.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/k2...-xiaomi-eu-rom-fix-gpay-t3946342/post79859363
The clue is in the title.
Your phone will probably have an unlocked bootloader, so you can ignore the first part of the guide and move straight on to installing TWRP.
You haven't mentioned GPay either, so you can also ignore the last part of the guide.
Hi Everyone,
I've recently bought a Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G dual SIM from China and I would like to unlock the bootloader to flash an oversea version firmware (with GMS framework). I have enabled the Developer option and OEM Unlocking function and I am having difficulty to get into Fastboot mode. With the phone powered off, I press the volume down button + power button and it only boots into recovery mode. Can someone please point me to the right direction? I also need some help of finding the right firmware for this model and flashing tool. I found this firmware Oppo_Reno 3_Pro_5G_PCRM00_11_A.02_191215.ofp online and not sure if that would be the right one.
Thanks,
Joe

to enter fastboot mode you have to push volume button up and power, not volume down on this phone or you enter in adb shell on your PC the command "adb reboot fastboot"
BUT: I think, there are a lot of hints still not known by us users to unlock this oppo phone. We might like on Xiaomi phones need an oppo Account to unlock.
I myself didn't try to unlock yet. Does only make sense when a working TWRP is out
There was a note in the OPPO RENO forum about getting and running a file from OPPO, after 60 days.
For me the Chinese version is not good anymore, now I can't install any new app on this phone because it says that I have to log in to a heytap account. But if I want to log in, I have to give my Chinese phone number.. I don't have Chinese phone number of course. Any solutions to this problem?
Now the find x2 neo (cph2009eu) released as the global version, and I want to install it's software because it's 100% the same hardware if I know it well. But I can't. I have the firmware for it from the internet, but in a .ofp file, I can't flash it
Okay, now I found a method to install apps without signing in with a chinese number, so the global software is not urgent anymore, but it would be good anyway.
I tried to install the global software via qfil, but it gives sahara error. After a quick search I found that we have to unlock the phone's bootloader to flash the global rom.
But the chinese version that I have does not have fastboot mode, so maybe we have to wait until Oppo will unlock the phone's bootloader officially (probably we have to wait until the next Android/ColorOS beta)
I have bought this EU Version, but funny thing here: they disabled 5G. Mine has 765G, 12GB RAM, dual SIM but neither specified nor selectable 5G
Hi all,
I also own the Chinese version of this phone (PCRM00)
Looking to unlock the bootloader, install EU version of the ROM and also root..
Any help?
Thanks!
Hi,
the Oppo registration ist now available with a none-chinese mobile number. Seems they splittet the HeyTap and Oppo services so you can use an least the Oppo services.
Here is the software update of the global version
https://oppo-uk.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Find+X2+Neo
It gives an error, so suddenly we cant install it simply from the original recovery
My variant is just the 128/8gb version, and maybe this also could be a problem, becouse the global phone has only 256/12 variant. So maybe with a 256/12 varint its woth a try

I have 12/256 EU Version (seems to sell in Poland), dual-SIM, 4G only (although SD765G).
Current Firmware reads CHP2009_11_A.08, March security update.
Is this a valid update or will it possibly bring 5G?

If you have the single-camerahole, 765G version, and the phone is CHP2009, this update maybe woth a try. The problem could be that Oppo dont allow to change the firmware in the official recovery, only update is possible, so if I try to install the global (CHP2009EU) on my PCRM00 (chinese) variant, it fails and dont install anything. And we dont have custom recoverys yet, and the chinese version dont even have fastboot mode to unlock the bootloader, so it seems impossible for me to install the global until Oppo dont unlock our phones bootloaders officially (for example for a beta upadate)
But if you already have CHP2009 software, maybe the update that I linked worth a try. If the recovery allows it..
If I know it well, the CHP2009EU (Oppo find X2 neo) have 5g modem, just like the chinese variant that I have (Theyre the same phone, but the software is different. I want the global software instead of the chinese becouse of Netflix HDR and Google assistant)
It is the single camera hole but 5G disabled- See Spec
I'd show you, but I cannot share screenshots here.
Would it reject update if it was not functional version or would I brick the device, if I flashed incorrect version?
The difference I see ist that X2 neo has single SIM and Reno3 pro has dual. I know from other brands, that this can brick the phone.

There's always a theoretical chance to brick your device when you modify the software, it's your responsibility. But I think there's more chance that the original recovery that we have won't allow you to update your software to the X2 neo's software. If you want 5g, you can try the Chinese variant's software, but I think the recovery won't allow the other softwares to install

I have it now for three weeks, no need for 5G, so better have a working than bricked phone currently.
Probably I'd play around in one year, when tools are more stable.
In fact I considered to search for an update on Polish Oppo site and found an update file for my Reno3 Pro, that was exactly the same as from your link and X2 neo.
So I did the update via Recovery, it ran through and landed with version .28.
It did not change anything on supported bands.
I remember from Sony phones, that bands are defined in NVRAM.
It seems that for all Reno3/X2 variants with 765G the firmware is the same, it is distinguished only by supported bands.

I just updated from Polish site to latest version:
https://oppo-pl.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Reno3+Pro
Now I am on June 5th security level.
The former file from UK site is exactly the same:
https://oppo-uk.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Find+X2+Neo
Just tried the polish version on the chinese variant of the phone and it gave me an error.

I also tried it, dont work :/
I don't know if it's really helpful but i think I've read somewhere on the official website that 5g isn't unlocked yet and would be thru future updates.
I live in the Netherlands and my Reno pro 5g should arrive today.
I'm kind of lost by all the different variants though..
The find x neo is also for sale over here and it seems the same service expert a minor different front cam.
But here in the Netherlands they are both for sale but the neo is much more expensive.
Anyway, I'm excited as this will be my first Oppo.
