Hi Everyone,
I've recently bought a Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G dual SIM from China and I would like to unlock the bootloader to flash an oversea version firmware (with GMS framework). I have enabled the Developer option and OEM Unlocking function and I am having difficulty to get into Fastboot mode. With the phone powered off, I press the volume down button + power button and it only boots into recovery mode. Can someone please point me to the right direction? I also need some help of finding the right firmware for this model and flashing tool. I found this firmware Oppo_Reno 3_Pro_5G_PCRM00_11_A.02_191215.ofp online and not sure if that would be the right one.
Thanks,
Joe

to enter fastboot mode you have to push volume button up and power, not volume down on this phone or you enter in adb shell on your PC the command "adb reboot fastboot"
BUT: I think, there are a lot of hints still not known by us users to unlock this oppo phone. We might like on Xiaomi phones need an oppo Account to unlock.
I myself didn't try to unlock yet. Does only make sense when a working TWRP is out
There was a note in the OPPO RENO forum about getting and running a file from OPPO, after 60 days.
For me the Chinese version is not good anymore, now I can't install any new app on this phone because it says that I have to log in to a heytap account. But if I want to log in, I have to give my Chinese phone number.. I don't have Chinese phone number of course. Any solutions to this problem?
Now the find x2 neo (cph2009eu) released as the global version, and I want to install it's software because it's 100% the same hardware if I know it well. But I can't. I have the firmware for it from the internet, but in a .ofp file, I can't flash it
Okay, now I found a method to install apps without signing in with a chinese number, so the global software is not urgent anymore, but it would be good anyway.
I tried to install the global software via qfil, but it gives sahara error. After a quick search I found that we have to unlock the phone's bootloader to flash the global rom.
But the chinese version that I have does not have fastboot mode, so maybe we have to wait until Oppo will unlock the phone's bootloader officially (probably we have to wait until the next Android/ColorOS beta)
I have bought this EU Version, but funny thing here: they disabled 5G. Mine has 765G, 12GB RAM, dual SIM but neither specified nor selectable 5G
Hi all,
I also own the Chinese version of this phone (PCRM00)
Looking to unlock the bootloader, install EU version of the ROM and also root..
Any help?
Thanks!
Hi,
the Oppo registration ist now available with a none-chinese mobile number. Seems they splittet the HeyTap and Oppo services so you can use an least the Oppo services.
Here is the software update of the global version
https://oppo-uk.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Find+X2+Neo
It gives an error, so suddenly we cant install it simply from the original recovery
My variant is just the 128/8gb version, and maybe this also could be a problem, becouse the global phone has only 256/12 variant. So maybe with a 256/12 varint its woth a try

I have 12/256 EU Version (seems to sell in Poland), dual-SIM, 4G only (although SD765G).
Current Firmware reads CHP2009_11_A.08, March security update.
Is this a valid update or will it possibly bring 5G?

If you have the single-camerahole, 765G version, and the phone is CHP2009, this update maybe woth a try. The problem could be that Oppo dont allow to change the firmware in the official recovery, only update is possible, so if I try to install the global (CHP2009EU) on my PCRM00 (chinese) variant, it fails and dont install anything. And we dont have custom recoverys yet, and the chinese version dont even have fastboot mode to unlock the bootloader, so it seems impossible for me to install the global until Oppo dont unlock our phones bootloaders officially (for example for a beta upadate)
But if you already have CHP2009 software, maybe the update that I linked worth a try. If the recovery allows it..
If I know it well, the CHP2009EU (Oppo find X2 neo) have 5g modem, just like the chinese variant that I have (Theyre the same phone, but the software is different. I want the global software instead of the chinese becouse of Netflix HDR and Google assistant)
It is the single camera hole but 5G disabled- See Spec
I'd show you, but I cannot share screenshots here.
Would it reject update if it was not functional version or would I brick the device, if I flashed incorrect version?
The difference I see ist that X2 neo has single SIM and Reno3 pro has dual. I know from other brands, that this can brick the phone.

There's always a theoretical chance to brick your device when you modify the software, it's your responsibility. But I think there's more chance that the original recovery that we have won't allow you to update your software to the X2 neo's software. If you want 5g, you can try the Chinese variant's software, but I think the recovery won't allow the other softwares to install

I have it now for three weeks, no need for 5G, so better have a working than bricked phone currently.
Probably I'd play around in one year, when tools are more stable.
In fact I considered to search for an update on Polish Oppo site and found an update file for my Reno3 Pro, that was exactly the same as from your link and X2 neo.
So I did the update via Recovery, it ran through and landed with version .28.
It did not change anything on supported bands.
I remember from Sony phones, that bands are defined in NVRAM.
It seems that for all Reno3/X2 variants with 765G the firmware is the same, it is distinguished only by supported bands.

I just updated from Polish site to latest version:
https://oppo-pl.custhelp.com/app/software_update_detail/p_name/Reno3+Pro
Now I am on June 5th security level.
The former file from UK site is exactly the same:

Just tried the polish version on the chinese variant of the phone and it gave me an error.

I also tried it, dont work :/
I don't know if it's really helpful but i think I've read somewhere on the official website that 5g isn't unlocked yet and would be thru future updates.
I live in the Netherlands and my Reno pro 5g should arrive today.
I'm kind of lost by all the different variants though..
The find x neo is also for sale over here and it seems the same service expert a minor different front cam.
But here in the Netherlands they are both for sale but the neo is much more expensive.
Anyway, I'm excited as this will be my first Oppo.

Quick info for 1st timers
Before rooting, you need to unlock bootloader for any Huawei / Honor devices.
Once you got the code Download\Install Minimal ADB and Fastboot
Now connect your Huawei device to the PC with a USB cable. (Give it required permission)
Boot your Huawei device into bootloader mode using the following command:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Once your device is in bootloader mode, issue the following command to unlock bootloader:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock your-unlock-password
Use the Vollume Up/Down key to select yes and power key to confirm - bootloader is unlocked now and phone will reset.

AGS-L09 - Huawei MediaPad T3 10
Returned the HUAWEI MediaPad 8" T3 4G (Model KOB-L09, Android 7/) tablet now but gone crazy and bought a Brand New T3 10" from ebay (AGS-L09, Firmware AGS-L09C127B031 CUSTC127D002). This is on Vodafone UK Network but same issues as EE - no dialer. srsroot says it can be rooted but bit risky as I have never used that tool before, especially when I am unable to find any non Chinese FULL firmware yet. Any one tried this tool before?
I have a feeling that all the UK network remove the dialer (most likely using the same firmware) - wondering which firmware (English) supports phone calls (review on notebookcheck.net says its actually quite good). I guess oeminfo is needed to flash a different regional firmware?
Man I'm in the same boat as you're I need to root my Huawei AGS-L09 but no avail hope some day we can find a way to do it with the help of the xda genius members!
By the way I can make phone calls on mine
Thanks Mercer99, as per other thread, appreciate it (for your device security, can you remove the image as this has your IMEI)- we have the same model, but different firmware.
AGS-L09C199B002 is “Saudi Arabia Oman Kenya Cameroon Jordan Qatar Ghana Android 7.0 EMUI 5.1” region.
AGS-L09C127B031 is “Greece Hungary United Kingdom Nonspecific Android 7.0_EMUI” . The dialer/calling function is disabled on this firmware - confirmed on Vodafone and EE network.
Is there any way you can extract the OEMINFO from your device and share it with us. This should enable me to debrand the phone if I can find your firmware (downloaded EUROPEAN version with Firmware finder already – so really need an European OEMINFO).
My phone is still locked to Vodafone so I am not sure whether I can flash the firmware or even need root to flash a different OEMINFO (bootloader is unlocked already).
Rooted
Took a risk and its rooted now - Magisk v14.0 installed fine and seems to be working (need to test further). Also, Vodafone unlocked the device now for me
Challenge now is to debrand so as to enable functions which has been disabled by Vodafone (namely calling).
Would appreciate if anyone can help - need OEMINFO from another region so as to change the firmware, especially European one or even other UK network who does not disable calling.
Could not contain myself…. In my quest to debrand so I can have a dialer/phone calling function, downloaded a firmware (either from FF Team or on the internet), tried flashing system.img file to see if it installs the dialer as it would not install extracted ones and it did not work. So tested with the boot.img and it did work but phone kept rebooting to eRecovery.
Restoring from TWRP (incomplete/untested) backup did not work. Can’t install any other regional firmware because of OEMINFO. eRecovery can’t find any firmware. The only thing – TWRP/Stock Recovery, eRecovery or bootloader!
Chatted with Huawei support and they won’t give me a link to download the firmware – want me to send for repair, which I don’t really want to – too much hassle and they may end up blaming me anyway….lol He agreed to upload one to their website if he can find one.
I would appreciate if anyone can give me an OEMINFO or link to EUROPEAN firmware with a dialer….. I think European one is AGS-L09C127B031CUSTC127D002 – would appreciate if anyone can share the file with me.
Managed to source the Vodafone UK now firmware now - thanks to combinefile.com
The only think remaining is to enable the enable the dialer now – can someone help? Either a guide to enable within Vodafone firmware or share an OEMINFO and detail of a UK/European firmware that has a dialer enabled (i.e. can make calls) would be much appreciated.

It should work with a locked bootloader.
TWRP - I have updated the link now to 4pda.ru forum. I have used that to root my model. I don't think restore (and backups) works. Of course, you need blootloader to be unlocked first.

KOB-L09 TWRP Here - I should be getting a new KOB-L09 to play end of this week,
In case this info is useful to anyone, I just got one of these from O2 and the dialler is preinstalled on the device. I've not tried using a regular SIM to make calls from it but the feature doesn't seem to be blocked. I can open the dialler and see the keypad etc.
Not a bad little tablet this, it needs an update to the latest security patches as it's still on July and the default launcher is crap (easy to install Nova of course) but otherwise very good for the price having Android 7.0, a Snapdragon, and LTE for £100. Stuck a MicroSD in there and filled it with movies to watch on the go.
Hexgor, can you confirm the firmware version and are you able to upload the dialer apk files for us, may be it just needs to be installed....thanks
Thanks

Hi,
I can't find answer regarding updating my miui OS to latest available.
I bought the Chinese version(package is written in Chinese) and the seller told me to not update via OTA else my phone will get bricked.
My question is what rom is suitable for the Chinese version?

Nope, you do not.
Device supports any upgrade from any official version, it happens that some sellers proceeded with a method specifically with the chinese version to flash a called "fake" rom onto it, for this reason it crashes trying to update via OTA. Don´t confuse; it supports any complete upgrade flashing entire rom through MiFlash tool or through recovery but not some OTAs due to bootloader restrictions.
What the user is telling you is if you unlock bootloader and install twrp you can install more easily any rom onto it.
But if you don´t want to root by now you can flash by i.e. this version that it seems to be the latest http://en.miui.com/thread-3007347-1-1.html it should happen that MiFlash tool doesn´t work (I guess only works with unlocked bootloader) then you have to try version for recovery, don´t forget to enable USB debugging and just in case OEM unlock features in developer options. If this doesn´t result then you have to search for MiPhone flash tool to flash in edl mode.
Before go further do a backup an bind atleast an account in your device to Xiaomi servers to have a plan B.
Hey guys, i've come across some bugs while installing the RMX1921EX_11_C.02 version from the Indian site to my phone and i would like some clarifications or help if someone faced those and overcame them.
- To begin with let me start by saying that I bought a global Realme XT with the firmware being RMX1921EX_11_A.05.
- I then managed to brick cyclops the device by trying to install RMX1921EX_11_A.10. Phone wouldn't boot, stuck on the Realme black/white logo.
- I managed to install RMX1921EX_11_A.06 through recovery and sd card.
- Then I downloaded from the Indian support site and installed through file manager the version RMX1921EX_11_C.02.
Now, on this version everything seems to work ok minus some bugs:
- Phone gets a bit laggy sometimes
- Brightness in automatic mode is not working
- Software update through settings won't work. Crashes a while after opening
- Battery life seems affected, won't last anyway near to what it was on RMX1921EX_11_A.05
So my question is, has anyone experienced any of those and found a solution to the bugs?
Also, is there anyway to obtain and roll back to the original stock rom RMX1921EX_11_A.05 from the beginning and then wait for the official OTA update?
Thank you in advance
Are you sure your phone firmware is RMX1921EX_11_A.05. (India version) not RMX1921EUEX (global version)?
If your firmware is India version, you should be able to unlock the bootloader and install twrp.

Yes, absolutely sure but im confused as RMX1921EX_11_A.05. is supposed to India version which my phone had but then the place i bought it was advertised as the global version and also i didn't receive the official ota update through the phone's update settings (and supposedly having the indian version). Seriously, realme's firmware naming and distribution is so confusing and impractical. but let's say i indee have the indian version, what does unlocking the bootloader and installing twrp mean? how will that help me and are there any cons into doing that? Thanks man

My XT is was some as the global version. But from what I'm reading this says I'm using the Indian version? But I have NFC. This is so confusing. Bought this phone thinking I could unlock and root.
This confusing but normal. I bought two EU phones with NFC. One for me and one for my girlfriend. She is still on RMX1921EX_11_A.05.
I updatet my Phone to A.06 and when i look in phonedetails is called RMX1921EX_11_A.06.
I read that A.05 can be unlocked in the other thread. I would test this by myself, but yeah i don't want drama with my girlsfriends phone.
So i don't touch it

I might have misread the comments, but why in here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-realme-gt-gt-neo-easily-tested-on-chinese-variant.4290569/, they say only tested in CN version? I don't want to risk buying a phone only to find out it is non-rootable, or testing something not officially being mentioned in https://c.realme.com/in/post-details/1248075024070344704 that might hard brick my device. Also, I read that keeping the bootloader unlocked will disallow fingerprint scanning from working, as I was intended to keep my bootloader unlocked forever, because I don't to contact Realme servers everytime I want to confirm my submission in the Deep Testing app (I don't want to rely on having Realme support my device in their servers, as one day they might pull the plug out, and I can no longer get Realme to verify my device using this app).
I contacted the Realme EU support and they said that Realme has no plans on providing unlock codes for EU models. They apparently only offered this for a few models on Indian market, so I'm not sure if it applies internationally, although imo, it sounds like it. What a shame.

What a shame. Such a good cheap phone is out of my options now . I guess I have to bite it and buy OnePlus 9 now (OnePlus no longer a flagship killer ).

I think the same thing happens with the Realme 7 pro. You had to change the dialer to change to India. So if I could unlock it .. It would be nice if it could be done with the European realme gt

So, can you change the dialer with the EU version and the deep test app would work too?

I think that if the method that was used in the realme 7 pro could be applied. I have tried it but have not been successful. You would have to know the engineer codes to change region. I guess they must be different on each terminal.
Here you have the manual that I use in the relame 7 pro.

If someone could find how to change the region in the realme GT from engineer mode, I think it would be the solution to be able to unlock.
Here are some codes that I found in case they could be usable

On the realme 7 pro it works. It would be a matter of being able to test it in our realme. I can not find any engineer code that allows us

I have not found any solution. They also told me in the telegram group that for our European version there will be no possibility of unlocking. I will sell it

Buy a Oneplus 9R. It goes perfect with the qualcomm 870. I already have it unlocked and it has the recovery options that I want in case of disaster. It is a very good smart

I wondered if it was a problem with the Google dialer not accepting the codes. Did you try a different dialer esp the realme or oppo dialer?
People also say the fact that it's coming to India should be good news for bootloader unlocking.

Any tutorials out there or here that instructs on unlocking the bootloader for this phone? Again, I am looking for the international version's tut, not the CN version.

Have you tried using a VPN to route traffic through India, and unlocking the phone?
Can someone send me a build.prop file from the system partition?

I don't have the phone yet lol. I'm not gonna risk buying a phone, only to find out it's hopeless to root it.
Not tested:

Has anybody been able to unlock the bootloader on the global variant? I have to pick between the Realme GT and the Poco F3 and would prefer the first because of the headphone jack, but if it's not possible to unlock the bootloader the phone would be almost useless to me.
What about previous Realme phones, is it possible to unlock the bootloader for all of them or are there some models where this is not possible? If the company has a good track record then we could assume that some day it will be possible to unlock the bootloader of the GT too.
I keep reading about some deep testing app or in-depth test app needed to unlock the bootloader, does anybody know where it comes from and who the developer is? All I could find was downloads on random websites and the whole thing seems sketchy.
Not buying this phone given the sad state of unlocking and sources.
I'm just here to check how this phone is doing in development and seems like it's doing terrible.
Hi,
I bought a Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite 5G off ebay which was advertised as the Global model but it appears i have the Japanese Global model instead (M2101K9R) whereas the actual Global model is M2101K9G. Would anyone know if it is possible for me to convert this over to the proper RKIMIXM Global ROM (M2101K9G) and keep my bootloader locked in the process by just flashing the fastboot ROM for Global? In other words i would like to fully convert it across to the global M2101K9G model.
i have read that flashing a Global ROM on a device for a different region can brick the phone if the bootloader is then relocked after flashing the Global ROM but wasn't sure if this was more in reference to going from the Chinese version of phone to Global rather then my situation which is going from Global Japan ROM to Global ROM.
I understand I can do this if I kept the bootloader unlocked after the flash but was hoping the bootloader would accept the Global ROM and would still work after relocking the bootloader.
Thanks in advance.
Seeing that i have my Mi account binded to my phone, i will wait another 90 hrs to be able to unlock bootloader and will attempt to answer my own question. Atleast when i relock bootloader after flashing the global ROM and worse case scenario it fails i can unlock the bootloader again and reflash the original Japanese Global MIUI for the device
dont risk your device and instead use "xiaomi eu", that way you can upgrade your device without the risk of locking the bootloader in the process

Hey, since you have the Japanese model, is the camera shutter sound always on? Even if you pick a different region for MIUI? I'm considering the Japanese model and am also curious if it would be possible to convert to Global, though like you said there's a risk of bricking so don't do it if that's a real concern. If you do try it though, let us know how it goes.
Good news, after unlocking my bootloader after 7 day waiting period i was able to successfully flash MIUI Global RKIMIXM ROM. Also relocked bootloader with Xiaomi Flash tool and the bootloader had no issues accepting global ROM.
it should be noted there's been alot of misinformation regarding unlocking/locking bootloaders and changing regions. As long as the first unlocking of bootloader was performed by your own MI account binded to the phone then after 7 day waiting period is over you can unlock/relock bootloader as often as you want immediately with no additional waiting period required. So if you have the issue where you're stuck in recovery after flashing another region ROM and accidentally relocked your bootloader in the process, it's no big deal as you just load phone into fastboot mode and unlock the bootloader again then either keep bootloader unlocked and flash whatever you want or download the proper ROM for your region then flash and relock bootloader again to be back to official stock.
Only thing is model appears to still be detected as M2101K9R in settings. Unsure if this will affect future OTA updates etc. Will provide update when i know more.

It can be muted by setting.(Any ROM/Version/Model)
Setting → Additional Settings → 'Region'
Japan or Korea = Always On
Other = Can be changed from camera settings

I ended up flashing back to Japanese ROM as realistically i had no issues with it. Was more curious to see if i could fully convert it over to Global ROM but it seems the model number as shown in Settings is hard coded perhaps in the bootloader or somewhere else and still displayed M2101K9R so i wasn't comfortable using the M2101K9G global ROM.
As for the camera shutter sound on Japanese ROM i just checked and there was a setting in the camera app itself (Camera>Settings>Shutter Sound) and you can toggle it off to silence the shutter sound.
Please, did you notice any difference between the Global ROM and the Japanese ROM? I mean in terms of settings, speed, battery etc.

I am a Japanese user using Mi 11 Lite 5G. The difference in hardware is that it is equipped with Felica, a near-range wireless communication standard developed by Sony. This is used in Japan for payments on public transportation and in stores. The difference in the software is that it takes a long time for software updates to be delivered. As the ROM is optimized for Japan, it takes longer to receive updates than the global version.
I also have japanese version but I am from México and I am using xiaomi.eu beacuse of the publicity from xiaomi stock roms, and it works flawless and felica is not used in my country so, I am fine, but... One friend of mine has the chinese global version and the cameras look sooo diferent, better in Jaoan version, even video 60fps has more stabilization. Just to say.
