Soo I was checking and I don't see much development for it at all? Is it worth switching to the rooted version of the phone?
If yes please let me know some good things to do with it.
I current have the tmobile USA version and I really miss the international s7 and s8. But I don't see much of any roms or anything for the s9.

Yes absolutely.
No device with a locked bootloader is worth having. If for no other reason just on principal lol.
Granted there are not a ton of roms for the exynos but compared with zero for snap..easy choice.
We have root, we have kernels, we have mods which you can only use rooted (sound boosting mod is great).
Not to mention dual sim capability which is handy.
Its a no brainer really

Hi,
The S3 LTE is now getting to a good price after the S4 release but is it still a good buy? The problems I see is that it will not get updates and if it does not get updates I suspect that there will be apps that is not possible to run. I have a phone about 2-3 years and I do not play that much on it but I need a stable, fast and flexible phone.
It is possible to install custom rom but there is really not anyone that will work perfect because Samsung is not releasing there code. Also, there might be even less roms to choose from when talking about the LTE version.
It will not be bought on contract.

I will highly recommend u to buy s4 because more roms more fast stable but if its very expensive u can still go with s3 and u can flash custom roms or just wait for samsung to bring the s4 features to s3.. Hope it helped:fingers-crossed:

Pleas explain, how can S4 be worth about 277 EUR more then S3? And why should there be more roms for S4? Have Samsung decided to releas there code?
Wondering if it were worthwhile trading a G4 for an S6 Edge. I know the answers I'll likely get because this is in the S6 forum but thought I'd ask. Nothing wrong with my G4 I just get bored with phones easy and wanted to try my first Samsung since the Galaxy Nexus. Going to post around Craigslist looking for a suitor.

The galaxy s6 edge is still the best phone on the market. Comparing it to the LG G4, it has a superior processor and display, as well as build quality. If you can, I would recommend you buy one that is unbranded so that it has far less bloatware. While the G4 has a removable battery, I have no problem going five days without plugging my phone in.
Thanks for the reply. I love the G4 and I dont have any problems with it..Just a bit bored. I saw a friend's Edge+ and got a bit jelly.

Personally I am no fan of Phablets.
The curved display seems gimmicky,
however I find people edge to be a useful feature.
I would actually recomend the S6 edge over the Edge+ any day.

I definitely wouldn't want the edge+ or note. Just a regular edge or s6

Well if your asking for twrp on a device with a locked BL yes you are definitely a n00b lol.
Never going to happen dude, root you might get but it will have issues.
If you wanted twrp etc you should have bought the exynos version instead of the crappy locked down snapdragon.

In most cases, I would have agreed with your statement about exynos version, however, you may need to check or google a few facts about new exynos on S9/S9+ and their issues (check samsung's offical user forums too) and see. I always root my devices, and always went to exynos version, but this time I went to Snapdragon. Also keep in mind, new premium phones now costing way too much than used to be, so paying top $$$ for a phone, you don't want to deal with issues, dont you?
that's why I dumped my belowed Pixel 2 XL and switched to Samsung S9+, I could not able to stand all the issues Pixel having, even if I loved the pure Android and smoothness of the device...but that screen ugly, and blue tint (replaced 2, still got the same thing !!!)

I have an exynos S9 plus, no problems thus far, got 5hrs SOT on my first charge cycle and battery life was my main concern
Dont always believe the BS on the internet.
Besides even if all the negatives being spread about exynos with root ,kernels and roms likely it could all be fixed. With the snap in north america your stuck with stock pretty much and at best a hacked root limiting charging to 80% whenever that does actually happen
No thanks.
Hey,
am about to buy a new phone and am a bit conflicted.
My main goal is actually to have a smaller phone and great battery life.
Would you rather buy the LG G6 or the Galaxy s8? I would like to hear it from ppl who use the G6 that's why I created this thread.
Thanks in advance!
as I've been told by some friends, battery life might suck on the s8 ( I'm pretty fine with the g6's battery atm ) and i can't find any comparison videos 'cause all of them are about the s8+ vs g6, not the regular one. if you're going for the s8+ and not the s8, that should be your go to phone. if I had the possibility, I would go for s8+, not the s8 nor g6.
This message is from g6 plus 128
S7 edge 32 is better than this thing
It aged much better. Has amazing support and much better value
So s8 of course is a better choice specially speed and updates
The thing is, it's hard for people to say which one's better, since most people only have one of them. But by looking at the spec sheet, the s8 wins. However, my experience with the g6 has been very pleasant, everything from battery life to the camera have been very good (except for software updates). So if you are going to buy the 64gb lg g6 (h870ds), keep two things in mind. You might have to wait until August to get oreo, and the h870ds variant isn't bootloader unlockable (meaning you can't root it).

Oh damn I just ordered the 870ds, I didn't know it's not unlocked .
Anyway thanks, but the s8+ is way too big, the g6 is already too big actually

That's strange, my g6 fits perfectly in my hand, and I have pretty small hands. Anyway, glad you picked one.

For me it's too big to navigate like an iPhone 6 that I had in my hands.
Anyway I will sell my G6 as soon as it arrives, since not even bootloader unlocked. Gotta get the s8 I guess.
Thanks for the helps

Sorry being stupid but is Samsung and Knox better? Always thought Sammy would be a bad idea if you want a free device.

I will read again about it, but as far as Í can see at least the bootloader won't be locked on the dual sim models.
If you find a smaller alternative that looks good and has a similar CPU and good battery life + good custom ROM support, I would also buy that. So far only seen s8 in that direction
For anyone interested in a battery comparison: https://www.phonearena.com/reviews/LG-G6-Review_id4323/page/4
LG G6 is preferable only if you have expensive high impedance headphones. Otherwise for the same price S8 looks better.
I wouldn't buy Sammy where Xiaomi or Meizu offer same performance for half price.

Anybody had a chance to compare these two phones or better still use both these phones?
I still haven't made up my mind which to go for (I have up to Xmas) and although the 7 Plus is more expensive, it does seem to have better reviews. Especially in regards to out of the box camera results and battery life. So any advice or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Simple for me here in the US... the 7.1 has all the bands for full LTE support on TMo.

This. Isn't there a larger "plus" version of the 7.1 due out soon as well? That's the one I'm holding out for. Not a fan of my Samsung S9+.
