Guys, do you have a BURN IN on your device ?
I Got one, but i did Not leave the Phone on for hours or Something Like that
Probably image retention, it should go away.
Though I suppose that's on a very low brightness on gray background, I don't see it as a big deal.

What most likely happened is that a logo or picture stayed on your screen long enough for the OLED pixels to become discolored. This is what happens with Plasma and OLED TVs. If you're going to have something static on your screen like navbars or a logo, it's usually best to have them solid white or black along with the rest of your screen. A lot of people with Pixel phones have reported the same thing.
Call LG and have them replace it, hopefully you sign up for the second year warranty.

I can sell my V30 500€, putting 60€ on it and buy me a new S9+

I've noticed the same on the bottom where the soft buttons are (when I hide the buttons). It doesn't look quite as bad as yours, but there's definitely a noticeable bar that's off-colored.
Mine's the same way at the bottom. Not sure at the base at the top. I just started yesterday to hide the navigation bar at the bottom.

Weird. In those pictures, the AT&T version has a bit of a blue hue to it, while the Verizon version is hard black. There's definitely some kind of color difference on the back cover. Although, user pics of the AT&T version seen HERE look pretty black to me.
I find the software differences to be very odd.

I agree. I just know that it probably means that software updates on Verizon's are even less likely if there are two different versions. Good thing I'm going to throw stock android on as soon as it's possible.
Will there be anyway to remove that awful Verizon logo at the top right?
I came across some posts about using a penny to rub off the logo and it leaves no scratches.
I suppose you could add a sticker over it too.
Verizon is just out of control with their logo placement.
I personally like the brightness slider and it being gone is a dissapointment. Honestly after watching this vid im less enthused about the G2 since Verizon cant keep their damn hands off anything.

I am on AT&T and feel sorry for our Verizons buddies. At first i felt the menu was bad too. As a matter of fact menu is not that bad it is just that we are so much used to watching the demo videos of the international phones. You may eventually start liking it as we play along. Don't be disappointed. Think about it.

I hear what ur saying and your right but it gets old man. Its like this with every phone. The buttons on the back of the G2 i actually like them better as far as looks. They look like metal and look premium. The wireless charging i want so thats nice to. The problem is you guys already have root, something that probably wont be as easy with the Vzw version, and a unlockable bootloader probably wont even be a option.

Yeah i agree rooting is always a problem for Verizon devices. But as you mentioned features like wireless charging pay you everyday which is not likely in AT&T devices. There are pros and cons.
Did the Verizon version G2 just get one of the stereo speakers removed essentially making it a mono speaker setup? Yikes....

...They are so small that is almost impossible to see them but if I crank the brightness up to 100% I see small green dots(they must be stuck). Also I get a weird behavior when trying to put the blue stock wallpaper i get a pink bright spot next to the apps button. Will update with pictures. There a lot more but right now the other camera I have is my wife iPhone 6s. Dang LG! I love this phone, its everything I've ever wanted but your QC is BS. Talk to Tmo people they are going to replace it, I don't want an RMA though...I've had others LG phones in the past and those came with dead pixels too(verizon's spectrum 2, G2, Optimus 2X)...Its a quality control issue...wont recomend to anyone...also you wont see it unless the brightness its all the way to 100% and you need to look very very close to the screen, a magnifier should help too.
Did that. That many phones of yours had issues? You must have insulted the great pixel peeper fairy.... Hope you your replacement is good.

It did, my new one has the green icon..
At first I didn't think much of it, but the more I see it, the more I think it's actually pretty hideous.
Btw, I don't know about the themes, haven't really checked that out, I'm using Nova Launcher and it's just green in that.
Please try changing the theme if it's always green in AOD?
Why didn't they patch the bad note 7's with a red battery to identify the bad ones instead? Dumb
The battery stays green no matter what theme you apply.
It wouldn't make sense to make it so easy to change as the whole point is to make it easy to identify a safe product and none safe product, and if it was easy to change no one will believe you have a safe device etc.

Tested. I've had my replacement device since 12th September and received the update yesterday.
I've tried three different themes and on all of them the battery remains green.
I don't see what the massive issue is with it. Yes it isn't white like the rest but does it fundamentally change the phone? No.
If you don't like it and it makes such a big difference for you then maybe the device isn't for you.
Yes I woke up this morning to a message that my device had update... and now have the green icon. I mind it less then I thought I would.
Walked into Rogers Corp store in Montreal today and bought outright. No pre-order.
I've set my device up. Took an update on first install (prob same at T-Mobile update)?
I've gotten Rogers Wi-Fi calling to work (though I have an annoying persistent Wi-Fi calling notification in Status Bar that I can't seem to eliminate even though I've silenced that notification).
Feel free to ask questions specific to Rogers here.

I'm pretty concerned about the battery life as well. Been using my Rogers G6 for about a week and have to say the standby time is absolutely horrid, probably as bad as my G5. Other than the battery life, i have to say that i love this phone!
I think mine's going back. Battery life is < 8 hours with same usage pattern (exactly) as my S7e, which can last 15hrs on just 300mAh more. Something's wrong. I don't have experience with SD821 devices but based on some benchmarks, the Pixel XL looks like it lasts almost as long as the S7e.
It seems that Rogers permits "exchanges" up to 2 weeks - what if I want to take a credit on another device (I don't think it's my individual unit so don't want to bother with another one)?
I packaged it up to return it...Rogers F****Ed me off, too bad....Not our problem. Figured I would sell it, so did a factory reset and then decide to give it one more go. This time I didn't use the Google "move from another device" (don't know actual name) but rather manually reinstalled my apps (painful...). Much better results today (tho no phone calls as it's the weekend). I'm at 8hrs off battery, 2hrs SOT and still above 50% battery. Will see what happens Monday.
Hey everyone, just got that phone for free from rogers (Was 400$ but bring my Samsung Galaxy Alpha and they removed the 400$, can't belive it! Even the clerk was like "what? In home settings you dont have select home ? Then home and app drawer?
Got the phone from Fido, unlocked, now using with Rogers. Only 2 days old but battery life is good so far, approx 50% after a moderate day of use.
For homescreen, I had to download an app from LG called "home + app drawer," before that I only had Home and Easy Home as options.

Does the Rogers G6 have any Rogers branding in the software when it boots up? Considering getting an unlocked Rogers G6 off of Craigslist to use on AT&T.

That's not what I said. LG made a statement that due to some new capsulation technology in the P-OLED it would be mitigated.
The article refers to the Pixel XL2 screen having burn in. It's the same screen as the V30. I was looking for some sort of confirmation of that.

Yes there is:

"Most importantly, using advanced encapsulation and pixel-scanning technology, the burn-in problem that has affected OLED technology in the past has been all but eliminated in the P-OLED technology in LG’s upcoming device."
Not saying this is accurate just answering the question.

There is no proof that the V30 and Pixel 2 XL have "same screen". Same manufacturer, diagonal and number of pixels does not mean "same screen". Google may have chosen to buy cheaper screens in order to increase profits, or maybe LG didn't want (or couldn't because of yeld issues) to deliver their best technology screens to Google.
I'm seeing it...
I started to notice it yesterday while reading an eBook. I'm waiting to see if it gets worse before contacting LG. I have a LG v30 from Verizon.

Are you able to provide a photo when it happens again? It would be the first one for
V30 I believe.

Lol I understand that to some degree. I'm still getting a V30 regardless, as I feel it's the best phone on the market. I was just curious what to expect. Heck my v20 has burn in like Crazy lol.

Nope, your V20 doesn't have burn-in. It has image retention

Sure. I noticed it last night for the first time while reading a book via the Kindle app (black text/white background). It's about 3/4 of the way down from the top of the screen. It's almost like the Kindle app is transparent, but it isn't. Hope that makes sense. I bought the phone the day it came out and have been using it as my daily driver since Oct 5th. Love the device/features. Takes amazing pics and quad DAC is impressive.
Hello everyone. Jumping in here because I am getting a V30 tomorrow. But just wanted to add to this. I have seen people point out that this is not "burn in" but image retention or image persistence. If this is the case, it's not a permanent thing and will probably fix itself the more you use the device. A device would have to be used for a longer period of time to get actual "burn in" I would think.
Well what the best way to prevent burn in? Any ideas?
I just a S8 in the store has very very bad burn in.
Don't put your brightness on 100% like they do in the stores. I keep mine on 60% generally during the day, crank it up to 90ish if I go for a walk and then turn it way down at night. I do that on all my phones and have never had burn in. My sister keeps hers over 90 all the time and always complains about burn in.

I've been using AMOLED Burn-in Fixer on my S7 edge after I got burn-in from Waze. It basically sets up Negative Colors from the accessibility options, as I can tell. the burn in is much better, but not gone (and I really wish Waze would do something about this, as it's probably the only app which will do this).

Here's the image: Taken from my Nexus 5X of the V30 screen, gray wallpaper in preview. You can really see it about 1/3 the way up from the bottom of the screen. That's exactly what I saw yesterday. It's more noticeable when the screen dims. I'm going to reach out to LG and open a case.
