Hi just wondering if anyone has been able to get continued conversation working with Google Assistant, I'm from Australia and I've read that it only works if you select English (US). I've done that and enabled continuous conversation in the settings and still no good. Better still is there a hack that will enable it to work in your home country?
Thanks

I am looking for an app that would enable me to dial contacts or do actions on my Android phone by voice. The standard Android voice recognition is unacceptable because I am not from an English speaking country.
My old phone had this feature where I could record a "voice command" for any of my contacts and only those would be considered when voice dialing. This also enabled for much more variance in speaking so I suppose it would be helpful for English speaking users too.
Is there any app that would provide this functionality? Or is somebody working on one?
I am in a similar situation, a number of my family have non-English names and Android cannot recognise them. I've looked everywhere and cannot find one either. Everyone seems to rely on voice recognition which is, frankly, crap for anything remotely non-standard in language.
You can use Voice Speed Dial by Cyberon Corp, it's very good
.
Moved to Q&A
it will be great if such an app exists.
let me now if you find one
is there a development/process/information about this thread?
To make the Android voice recognition work, go to Settings>Voice Input & Output>Language>English (US). You'll be able to use all the voice commands. I don't know how well voice dialing will work for you though. It works for me many times with Indian names, but also fails a lot. Try Vlingo too, it might work better.

Somehow I turned on Google Voice to handle outgoing calls. Now I cannot figure out how to disable that. I only want Gvoice handling the voicemail and nothing more.
I tried searching the interwebs so this is my last report. FYI loving my new Android phone, ex-iPhone 3GS user!
Go to google voice then hit the application button then hit settings. It should be under there, just uncheck the related option.

I recently installed suprarom and my google voice setup goes alright but for some reason it only does a small bit of the set up and only allows me to view my Voice inbox. it will not continue to set it up for international calling or let me use google voice as my voicemail carrier :c anyone have any ideas for a fix?
Also first post in 3 years O.O
Wouldn't be asking for help if I didn't need it :/

Having problems too with Mikmik rom. I'm gonna try nandroiding back to the stock rom, TB GV there and then go back to the rom of choice and restore GV via TB. You should do the same
Zero issues on Synergy's ROMs. Took some trial and error to get it to work properly though.
Since the idiots at Google and Sprint BROKE GV with that **** ass integration, you have to skip the initial set up screen, then log in. then skip, then go to your "Call" settings and choose it as your voicemail carrier.
All that depends you having it set up properly in the web site as well. Dialing *28 is what I had to do 2 years ago.
Hi there, I'm looking to buy a cheap smartwatch purely for replying to messages while at work, where my phone is not an option, however most messages I receive are through Viber, and not Hangouts. I'm wondering if Minuum, or any of the other keyboard options allow typing wherever voice input is available, or if somebody could at least confirm compatibility with Viber.
Thanks!

Nope sorry viber is voice input only the only thing minuum is good for is using apks from apps designed for normal android and for apps that have keyboards in them like all of appfour wear apps
Viber is in the Android Wear marketplace on Google Play.
Hi,
is there any chance to get SIP Account Settings working on this smartphone. In the current Software there is just no option anymore. In my old Z3 Compact there is the option to create a SIP Account .

The same on my phone. I had a Z3C and also 6.0.1 and there was under "Calls" the section for adding a SIP account. With the Z5C and 6.0.1 there is no way anymore to work with SIP accounts. Sony removed a naitive feature of Android. Now I had to install a VOIP app to handle this. Is there a way to get the SIP account feature back?
I don't believe this what happens with the Z5C. Is it possible to get the feature back when I root the phone?
Although this is about a Samsung device, maybe this thread can also help you out: ( sorry, since I just registered I'm not allowed to post url's... But Google will help you )
I used the app QuickShortcutMaker to link to the sip settings. Make a link to “com.android.phone.settings.PhoneAccountSettingsActivity” or “com.android.phone.CallFeaturesSetting” on some other phones. No rooting required!
Apparently the functionality is still in there, only a direct link is lacking... I am using native sip on an Samsung tab S2 now
Let me know if this works for the z5 compact as well; then I might even buy one too!
Thanks for your reply. I found a entry with QuickShortCutMaker named: com.android.services.telephony.sip.SipSettings. I insert my account details but the phone to not register. The entry tells me: Incoming calls deactivated. and I also cannot call out. In previous versions I saw a dialog how I ant to dial: SIM or SIP. After the the above steps I only can call out via SIM not SIP.
I also have the same problem using Android 6 on a LG G3. After adding an SIP Account using the activity "com.android.services.telephony.sip.SipSettings", theese accounts are visible and can be enabled by calling the activity "com.android.server.telecom.settings.EnableAccountPreferenceAcitivity" - but the integration in the dialer is missing. So on an outgoing call there is no selection for the account to use.
On Android 6 on Samsung S5 Neo it works fine by using the activity "...PhoneAccountSettingsAcitivity" but this action does not exist on the LG G3 Android. There is an action "...SipPhoneAccountSettingsAcitivity" but it does not work.
What type of SIP calling is this?
Is this VoLTE SIP calling that would let you make a SIP Voice call using TMO's VoLTE services? Or is this some other type of SIP calling, like making a call through Google Hangouts?
