Do any of the ROMs available for the 5x include native signature spoofing support, like Omnirom does? Thanks!

For microG to work properly, one has to use Xposed or a patch like Tingle by @ale5000 in order to spoof the signature of a bunch of google play services. That is, unless they use Omnirom, which allows it to work out of the box. See the thread here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/apps-games/app-microg-gmscore-floss-play-services-t3217616

There's another link in that thread (the one that says "read here about why it's not") that probably explains how sigspoofing works better than I ever could. But I'm wondering if RR or anything incorporates that particular feature of Omnirom

well, omni is based on aosp, and rr is based on lineage, they has their differences
If you have a know-how/resources, you can manually patch necessary repos and build ROM yourself (I did that for Slim builds on my previous device), commits are available on gerrit, you'll just have to fix some merge conflicts... CM didn't want to support that on CM12.1 (I remember discussion from their gerrit back then), others followed their example, so I guess that is current state of things on Lineage and other CM based ROMs even now...

I thought I read somewhere that more recent Omni 6/7 builds have been somewhat based on CM as well. Not that that would stop Omni from including sigspoofing, but I guess this is more a question whether RR includes that aspect of Omni in our device's unofficial RR release despite it being based on Lineage

I definitely have neither the knowhow nor the resources. :silly:
(Edit: idk how to link posts, I thought it would combine, sorry)
I guess if I want this sort of support consistently, I'll have to choose my next device based on Omnirom availability...

Well, if I ever decide to start working on kiwi, I'll probably patch necessary stuff, you can count on that.. But I still haven't even unlocked and rooted mine (in case I suddenly decide to resell it/replace for something with bit more regular updates - still haven't decided anything, not too happy with software and official support, but to lazy to anything about it).... Who knows when will that happen.
P.S. use multiquote to reply to multiple posts at once

Youll probably never find any solace in official support/EMUI. Rumor has it that an official Nougat will be released at some point, but my only foray into Nougat gave me horrible battery life. I'm pretty happy with MM.

"At some point" can be deep into 2017 or never but ok, I'm used to that, had a LG device which suddenly went out-of-support after not even full year of life. And it was a flagship. I'd be glad if even monthly patches are kind of regular... just dreams, haha.

Include the patch is really simple for any ROM, it doesn't depend on anything particular, it is just a choice of the one that build it.
The official patches are here.

I'd probably ask if anyone would build Omnirom for this device. Idk if a dev wants to change their current ROMs just for this feature
There is a setting available in CrDroid

I tried crDroid and spoofing worked like a charm, but for some reason my battery does not like Nougat. Has MM development/building completely ceased for the 5x?
I am curious that is kenzo able to boot a GSI image? I haven't found anything related to kenzo treble support but most of the xiaomi phones support project treble. Is there any way to make it work?
No news

U really dont know what project treble is. So go through google search before asking.
Project treble is not some kind of lever or switch which you can enable. And who told u that most xiaomi phone support it?
Project treble is not worth for existing phones. Its xiaomi who should give it.
To make device trebelize.
1) device should have vendor partition.
2)device should have vendor blobs written in binderized format. And it should be wrapped HIDL.
Our kenzo have old marshmallow blobs written in legacy. So cant support.
Only hydrogen has same hardware and soc to kenzo.
So pray for hydrogen to get miui oreo. We will copy oreo blobs from hydrogen to make treble. Thats the only hope.
Thanx mate.
We can wait no issues!

Android p gsi when googel is releasing
I was wondering if anyone Here is running Linux
Why? Probably everyone wants a "usable" Version of RR or Pixel dust
And it would be highly apreciated if that guy who has it would Compile a Rom for us (Please no GSI)
That's not how it works.
Building with Linux is only the last 10% of the process. The reason why there's no RR or PD for this phone is that no one has made the source code for it yet.

Could be either fake, a pre-packed GSI, or a port from some community outside of xda.
The only certain thing is that it's not official.

Now that Kernel source has been released by the manufacturer.
Here's hoping Lineage/ArrowOS/CrDroid/Havoc/AOSP is released for this brilliant value-for-money device!
Those ROMs doesn't require kernel source.
You can already run all those ROMs on OP Nord2 as GSI.

Is there another way to run ROMs then?
Is GSI some emulator style? Why do devs crib about Mediatek sources not being available? Is there another way of making ROMs in a native way? This is the first time I'm reading about something called as GSI ?!

Not at all, it runs natively just like stock rom.
The idea of a GSI is simply that we keep the drivers from stock ROM. They are working perfectly fine for stock ROM users, there is no reason those drivers wouldn't work fine for us.

Honestly? I'd say stubborness. Yes, we can use sources of more drivers on Qualcomm devices than on Mediatek devices, but to what end? Everytime needed sources of a driver on a Qualcomm platform, its sources were not available at all.
On Mediatek side, there is some source code available, but from shady origin, so they can be used to learn more about how Mediatek drivers work, but it can't be used to build drivers directly from sources. Again, we can just use stock ROM's drivers.

Yeah well GSI are severely underrated, because you can't make a news about a generic image working on a new device at every new device...
