In gingerbread i remember there was macro picture option but in ics there isnt?

put your object to focus closer and on the center (wait for scene recognition detect it as macro) or press camera button half-press, then let it focusing (this should be change scene recognition icon to macro mode) and take the pict.
or simply buy a decent camera apps on play store almost all of them can get the job done easily.
Thanks...but am i right that in gingerbread there was an option to do that?

I don't know about ICS... But in gingerbread you have to make sure that scene recognition is disabled (Capture Mode -> Normal) and then go to Focus Mode-> Macro to force macro mode.

Yes, but in ics, and normal mode, there is not macro mode in focusing menu.
It "should" detect macro with auto scene mode.

Or use touch focus

Pre-Flash Camera for a great for the camera to focus on Dark Photos being taken or it would be nice or an option to turn the LED light on while in camera mode. Thanks Jon
When you take a picture in a dark area where hardly any light is exposed and you know it will be out of focus then you press the shutter button, a light appears lighting up the area and the camera then focuses and after that takes the shot.
TAG pre flash, focus light, led light focus
The IPhone has this. Why can't the Amaze have it too since it was compared to the IPhone for taking photos and it coming above the iphone.

Doesn't it already do this? At least it does on the stock ICS rom, i think.
I just turn on the flashlight then go into camera. Works like a charm!

That's what I end up doing. Hassle that you have to quit camera mode if you forgot to turn it on.

Oh it must be an ICS rom feature. I'm still on a Gingerbread Rom and don't have the flashlight in the quick settings.

Bring me focus flash for dark picture taking.
Found this in the market last night and bought it for 99¢… its also on XDA for free but I gladly bought it. Try it out. Won't be disappointed.

It does nothing different than the normal camera app. Yes, the standard camera app also does HDR. In fact your link clearly states it. It is a modified Android 4.2 camera for Android 2.3+.
If you use the cm camera and HDR it looks horrid to me. I can take an HDR pic with the Google edition camera and it looks great. Same picture with the CM camera come out so dark you can't see it. This one comes out the same as the Google Edition camera but actually works on AOSP. So to me and apparently others it is a nice camera.

This. It seems AOSP cam is only keeping the low light portion of the HDR shot. With this app you can also manipulate your storage location, change the fps on video recording, keep the originals of your HDR shot before processing, etc. Its a killer app and has rounded out the features on AOSP for me.

All this and more. The AOSP camera HDR setting is dark and produces sub par pictures for my taste. This is a great alternative. Was missing the pop that TW camera software gave you with the HDR setting.

Does anybody know what is the best camera to use on CM12 that has a design too not just functions?I don't really like open cam's design..So i need a camera that doesn't do that green screen that the Google Cam does?It just FC-s after the green screen and doesn't take the pic
i use snap camera hdr, it works brilliant

You could try Camera MX.
Anyone else notice that the front camera pictures are mirrored? I noticed when taking a picture of some text using the front camera. The words backwards like looking into a mirror.
Not a bug. There is an option in the settings for this. Just turn it off.
